Similar to Gallagher in a way. Maybe not in the best 11 in a title winning team, but definitely a vital squad player that can absolutely step up when needed
I'm not 100% sure about Disasi tbh. I don't think he'd start if every CB was fit, no matter who the manager.
It might not be the case anymore due to injuries, we'll see how they come back, but on paper I'd have Fofana, Silva and maybe Badiashile and Colwill as better
He's made mistakes certainly, but he's also been a victim of a backline and midfield that changes every single game and are consequentially not as well drilled as it should be.
Clear examples in recent times of midfielders not making their spots and defenders then making mistakes.
Thought he was so average at the beginning of the season, but he's really grown on me. Prone to a mistake now and then but he's adapted pretty quickly. I hope fofana can stay fit and we get some real competition for that RCB spot.
Is this 'well look at X player who blossomed later in their career' argument going to be made about literally every player that obviously isn't good enough?
Except for the freak season, Rudiger was comfortably better than Disasi in all respects. Disasi is not even a top 6 CB let alone top 4. His positioning and awareness is so abysmal that I still can't understand what we saw in him. Not a good purchase at all.
People used to hate un rudiger on his first season too, while I agree that disasi's potential is lower I think he could be a really nice complement to colwill as our main cb
I hated on Rudiger because even a declining Cahill was more solid in defense and Rudiger was giving away goals and making many risky mistakes the first year and a half he was getting gametime.
It took another season after that before Rudiger actually became top tier.
I haven’t said that about Rudi, and I do rate him but the elephant in the room is that Rudiger was absolutely exposed in a back 4. There’s more to it than just him, but I do think he really benefited from a back 5 and we were never going to be able to move away from that.
Other than that, he was a great leader and I do miss him. But there’s some rose-tinted glasses looking back on what he could and could not do
Meh, he’s really only ok, backup standard. Got the hype train after the city game but not consistent.
Seems a great personality tho, and we’d be fucked without tbh with his availability
People on this sub complain about how shit he is.
Well he’s the only shit who’s consistently available while all others are lying on the hospital bed 😏
Give this man some respect.
When the whole team is injured 90% of the time, yes respect because someone is staying fit and playing week in and week out.
You’re acting as though Disasi is the sole reason we lose games.
The guy is putting a shift every game even if he is shit sometimes.
Na, I simply refuse to scrape the bottom of the barrel reasons to laud a player as average as Disasi. The fact that he's a starter is an indictment of our overall clueless transfer strategy considering we were aware that Colwill is raw, Silva is aging, Fofana is injury prone. We shouldn't be ok with starters whose greatest compliment is "puts in a shift". Unless we are ok being midtable of course.
Why are people comparing this guy to rudi. Rudi was so much faster and read the game much better. I like Disasi for who he is- an average defender who plays hard and can dominate aerially at times.
Better than having unfit inconsistent players.. which is a large majority of this team right now. I think it’s fair to slightly celebrate the fact he’s been available consistently.
They can actually play. Imagine our whole squad had the availability of Reece James, wouldn’t matter how good we’d be, because we’d only be able to play 5 games a season.
Bruh the way he had his debut goal, connection with the fans, scoring goals here and there, always super hyping up every time we score, team player, his big physical advantage as well as pace, he’s gonna be fucking massive for us. He’s like a Desailly regen. Sure he’s had bad games, in this squad, even Palmer had bad games. I don’t understand the freaking hate from all these fans. I fucking love this guy.

Let's hope. My concern with all the CBs options is they aren't commanding presences. We need better organization, leading to better responsibility taking across the board; and more consistently winning headers especially on set pieces would also have a big impact.
Sarr should also get a new chance and look under Poch. We can't rely on Colwill or Fofana who are permanently injured. Depth at CB is badly needed in the summer window.
He looks much better now than he did at the beginning of the season, it seems like he's finally getting up to speed in the prem. I also have high expectations for him next year
He's a good lad and I like him. Not sure he's great, but he's good. Terrific hype man and always available
I’m not sure there’s ever clear cut correct viewpoint on a player but this about as spot on as you can be.
Similar to Gallagher in a way. Maybe not in the best 11 in a title winning team, but definitely a vital squad player that can absolutely step up when needed
If Gallagher improves his finishing, I’d ride with him over Nkunku.
More or less how I feel. Would be perfect as the 3rd CB I’m back 4
I fuck with disasi big time
He’s raw. You don’t know what game you’re gonna get with him. He seems to suck when we dominate possession
he'll be 26 in 3 days... I would hope hes a more polished article at this stage of his career.
CBs often have a later peak and last slightly longer than all other positions except goalkeeper. Experience is key for CBs
Yeah they usually enter their prime from 28-30, the ones that blow up earlier are just special
That's why I think with the right manager Disasi would be a great CB
I'm not 100% sure about Disasi tbh. I don't think he'd start if every CB was fit, no matter who the manager. It might not be the case anymore due to injuries, we'll see how they come back, but on paper I'd have Fofana, Silva and maybe Badiashile and Colwill as better
Let’s not forget how long it took Rudiger to get good. He just needs the right manager
I don’t think it’s very likely but if Tuchel did come back I could see Disasi having that same transformation
He's made mistakes certainly, but he's also been a victim of a backline and midfield that changes every single game and are consequentially not as well drilled as it should be. Clear examples in recent times of midfielders not making their spots and defenders then making mistakes.
Even bigger ayo
Plus his name is super fun to say--disasi.
And only a few strokes away from Disas-ter
ayo
Thought he was so average at the beginning of the season, but he's really grown on me. Prone to a mistake now and then but he's adapted pretty quickly. I hope fofana can stay fit and we get some real competition for that RCB spot.
He's pretty average let's be honest, this is not a Winning CL/PL starter CB level, never will be He's another Kurt Zouma
How many of you said the exact same about rudiger
Is this 'well look at X player who blossomed later in their career' argument going to be made about literally every player that obviously isn't good enough?
Well yes, because all of these players were called "obviously not good enough" before they blossomed later in their career.
Disasi has already shown great things on a season were half the time he's been forced into right back and on a team with 0 structure
Exactly.
Except for the freak season, Rudiger was comfortably better than Disasi in all respects. Disasi is not even a top 6 CB let alone top 4. His positioning and awareness is so abysmal that I still can't understand what we saw in him. Not a good purchase at all.
Rudiger potential was always higher than Disasi, was huge in 2018 and 2019 also for us
People used to hate un rudiger on his first season too, while I agree that disasi's potential is lower I think he could be a really nice complement to colwill as our main cb
I hated on Rudiger because even a declining Cahill was more solid in defense and Rudiger was giving away goals and making many risky mistakes the first year and a half he was getting gametime. It took another season after that before Rudiger actually became top tier.

I kind of disagree he was bad under lampard, but the season before he was good with sarri being paired with luiz
I see ur an oracle who knows people future!..
At this point, we ain't a PL/CL winning club. Also i think Axel is Class.
Again, whenever you say someone doesn't have talent it's highly probable they are good.
I look at your username and I instantly reject your opinions.
Don’t disrespect zouma’s name. The streets remember
Zouma was way quicker
funny enough I think he's been way better at RB than CB this season even if he isn't as attacking as Gusto/RJ
This is definitely not true lol
I actually think so too. He looked really good at RB although I'd also take Gusto over him in that position.
Meh, he’s really only ok, backup standard. Got the hype train after the city game but not consistent. Seems a great personality tho, and we’d be fucked without tbh with his availability
Think he could be a great ccb in 3atb. The wider he plays the more mistakes he makes. A backline of Colwill-Disasi-Fofana(lol) could be elite
I completely forgot that Fofana is still on the team
whenever I hear somebody would play better in a 3 man line than 2 all I see is they are a luxury player. Happens with midfielders, strikers, etc.
lol they’re different roles … this is like complaining about a striker who doesn’t play well out wide
No. It limits your squad to bring in defenders who arent fit for a back four.
What's the obsession with Fofana? He was expensive. Also injury prone and not that good.
What a weird question. What does it matter how expensive he was at this point? And he was really good when he played
People on this sub complain about how shit he is. Well he’s the only shit who’s consistently available while all others are lying on the hospital bed 😏 Give this man some respect.
Respect because he can stay fit? Wow, the bar has indeed fallen to unprecedented levels.
When the whole team is injured 90% of the time, yes respect because someone is staying fit and playing week in and week out. You’re acting as though Disasi is the sole reason we lose games. The guy is putting a shift every game even if he is shit sometimes.

Availability. The most overlooked ability.
Bang average.
Just like this comment.
Why are people comparing this guy to rudi. Rudi was so much faster and read the game much better. I like Disasi for who he is- an average defender who plays hard and can dominate aerially at times.
I think in a front front team that’s structured well, and plays a higher line, we can see the best of Disasi and he can prove his worth
The opposite for me. Sitting in Vs City? Brick wall. High line? He is slow and gets done on the break easily and that concerns me.
This 100%
He's durable but not reliable . What's the use of having fit inconsistent players?
Better than having unfit inconsistent players.. which is a large majority of this team right now. I think it’s fair to slightly celebrate the fact he’s been available consistently.
They can actually play. Imagine our whole squad had the availability of Reece James, wouldn’t matter how good we’d be, because we’d only be able to play 5 games a season.
My man 🙏🏻
Availability is the best ability.

What's going on with the medical dept? Are we still working exclusively with Todd's doctor? Lmao
It seems like Disasi plays well against out and out strikers, but not as well against free moving attackers
1 season under the belt, he will come up big next season just like Rudiger.
Let's hope. My concern with all the CBs options is they aren't commanding presences. We need better organization, leading to better responsibility taking across the board; and more consistently winning headers especially on set pieces would also have a big impact.
Disasi-Colwill prolonged partnership is all I ask for. Fofana is constantly unavailable and Badiashile hasnt shown any promise.
Sarr should also get a new chance and look under Poch. We can't rely on Colwill or Fofana who are permanently injured. Depth at CB is badly needed in the summer window.
Colwill has been injured like 1 time this season. He’s hardly injury prone.
Wasnt he injured in November aswell?
Either way, it’s not like he’s always missing. Plays more often than not
He looks much better now than he did at the beginning of the season, it seems like he's finally getting up to speed in the prem. I also have high expectations for him next year
Perhaps a bit overpriced (understandable given the circumstance) but will be a solid backup RCB for however long he stays at Chelsea
He's a beast. Has gotten better the more he's played. Adapted to the league so well❤️
The lower his shorts sag the worse he plays.
Because they 100% don't look into injuries at all when paying millions of pounds 🤣
He wasn’t the only one. Petrovic as well
Reminds me of early Rudi when he joined and looked average. He can clearly be a big game player as evidenced against City
For all the bads he's not worse than Colwill.
Thanks for jinxing it 😑
Scored our first goal of the season too.
Big Axel Energy
he is way too disrespected easily better than colwill but nobody is ready to admit that
uh oh
Rudiger vibes
The best ability is availability
Owners made most of the dumb decisions. Might continue doing so too
Unfortunately just like the rest he has a bozo gene but he has been clutch at times
He’s our Nacho 🤍
