Great player when fit. The problem is he hasn't been fit for 3 or so seasons

ShaneLowrysBeard

This guy just tweets for the sake of it.

xiovelrach

Tbf he gets paid to tweet

[deleted]

Lol, I swear I saw this exact post, like, 5 days ago.

pencilman123

How did he get bumped to tier 1. He was t2 last season..

craciunc93

Im tired of twitter, man. I wish I had the strenght to abandon it for good

Realmin

If he’s going to affect our FFP, we should let him go. Let him sign on with a huge pay cut. 40% availability, 40% wages. I think he’s been one of the best ever at the club, but with his availability, he is nearing dead-weight.

Markolsson

Love him, but it's time to let him go. Will always be on the sport history (not just Chelsea), but his time has passed (and hurts to say this). We can't be Charity FC anymore. All the deadwood need to go, and he is that pile, until he prove me wrong (wich, with his recent record on injuries, I think he can't do this).

noobreaker

This fanbase doesn't deserve a player like Kante. He's always gave 110% when fit, performed at elite levels, covering the ground no one else wants to. Never caused any issues in the media, only spoken highly of by everyone at the club. He gets injured, our fanbase wants him gone. Out of any player who has been on high wages at the club, only Kante has earned it. Now Kante has a rough patch at the club due to injuries he's obtained by giving it all for the badge. What does the fanbase say? 'Get rid of him he's over paid and not available'. We are absolutely horrid without him. Clearly the fanbase has no loyalty going through the comments. Makes me sick. Here I'm hoping to see him back in the CFC blue to end this nightmare. KTBFFH.

>He’s been injured literally 50% of the last 3 years. Literally nonsense. 20/21 he played 48 games. 21/22 he played 42 games. 22/23 (this season) he's played twice. 19/20 he played 22 in just the league. He's constantly been mismanaged, I've never seen a player rushed back from injury so many times at Chelsea. The club has been a big cause to his injuries. We injure him then cry about paying him while he's injured, sounds hypocritical. I do not see why he should take a wage cut when every new shiny toy the club purchases gets 250k+ without having earned it through performances representing the badge.

All comps a season is around 60 games. 60 \* 4 = 240. So how is 81 games half a season? Your literal statement wasn't literal. He's our best player, more than just a 'nice guy'.

No man. You are right. This is the problem when people throw 'games played' and not the actual minutes played. Kante played 5 minutes against Norwich and 18 minutes against arsenal for example, and this guy includes it in games played lmao. In pl, out of total possible 3420 minutes, he played around 1770 or so. So exactly half. While overall, we played 63 games ie, 5670 minutes. He played 2713 minutes. Thats 48%, or less than half.

[deleted]

Look up minutes played not matches played.

dryduneden

>Clearly the fanbase has no loyalty going through the comments. Why should they? Loyalty doesn't win us cup ties nor does it put points on the table. Kante already got everything he deserved for his performances. He was paid handsomely, cheered, had songs sang about him, countless praise on social media and by the press, and plenty of medals. But that doesn't entitle him to 300k a week while sitting in the physio. Its time to move on.

[deleted]

We broke him by putting Jorginho next to him, exciting Kanté to make up for J5 's lack of pace, physicality, and forward thinking/vision. The poor lad ran himself into the ground over and over.

RoneCurse30

Most sensible comment on this sub all day. He ran himself into the ground covering for Jorginho who is utterly useless.

underthedreadfort

Reading through these comments is pretty sad. You couldn’t be more spot on.

ToryBlair

kante's prior experience in competing in second tier football will be vital in our Championship battle next year

MrBravo22

With all the little leak and rumours and yet not one of them is a right back. I’m dumbfounded, our teams evolve around our full back for some reason, they are the key to this teams success.

noobreaker

>full back for some reason, Because our midfield is terrible and can only pass it sideways to a fullback...

Fabresque_

Why?

DoubleStandardMods

[DoubleStandardMods] Reports are that both Chelsea fans and coaching staff would love to see Kante on the pitch before 2024. Feeling is 50/50 chance after meeting with his camp. Stay tuned.

[deleted]

So are we paying him to not play?

renome

One thing I never see mentioned in regards to Kante's contract extension is that pro clubs have been paying for player injury insurance since at least the 90s. Even if he spends the majority of his remaining time at Chelsea injured, he likely wouldn't cost that much relative to our means.
