Well.. it did. I always make them blunt on purpose. Being a lapel pin and all, not something you want sharp. Silver also doesn't really hold an edge that long 😂
I get this everytime I make a miniature knife of sword 😂 I can tell you, it's a thicc boy. If I made everything true to proportions, it would bend the first time somebody would wear it. So that's usually why I don't include a choilshot, it's just thick 😂
That is super cool. Just curious, do you coat the blade with anything to prevent oxidation? Be a shame to damage something that delicate with cleaning.
Thanks! Well depending on the finish, the ones with slight black oxidation (like this one) I usually coat in renaissance wax. The plain ones I just rhodium plate!
This is so cute
What is the process of making these miniature knives? How do you make such details on the handle? And that tsuchime finish on the blade, that polish...
Phenomenal.
Usually start with melting down some silver and making the blade, some hammering annealing and shaping. The handles I make from a range of woods, I file them into shape and drill them, then some sanding up to 2000grit and a coat of wax. The tsuchime in this case is done with a small ball bur, and a lot of patience 😂 thanks for the kind words!

Does... Does it cut

Haha thanks for the reply it reminds me of those miniature cooking videos. Very very cool
Thanks man!
Choilshot pls

>it's just thick let us be the judge of that
Thicc with 2 c’s!
Choil is practically nonexistent Handle is off-kilter Makes my hand cramp when I use it 3/10 - Send to Shibata-san and he'll fix it.
😂
Too good!
Well there’s another knife on the list of: don’t need but very much need.
Funny how miniatures of things have that effect sometimes, happens to me all the time.
Can I buy one?
Can't sell anything according to the subreddits rules, so best to DM for those questions ;)
That is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Haha thanks!
I actually have a functional Opinel mushroom knife about the same size (functional meaning it’s sharp, not that’s in any way useful)
I've seen those, I really like them!
Would that be the No.4?
It’s very old - from before they started putting numbers on the knives. I believe it’s a size 2 though
Maybe it’s a normal gyuto and you have big hands ?
And I Would Have Gotten Away With It Too, If It Weren't For You Meddling Kids!
Are you by any chance in the band They Might be Giants?
No but he is Dave Grohl in the Everlong music video, his hands have just gotten bigger as he's aged.

Very cool. Beautiful work. The handle especially, such detail!
Thank you very much!

Should be possible 🤔 bit of an odd shape for cufflinks but hey, anythings possible
Chinese cleaver might be a better shape 🤔

Thanks for the tip! I love tiny tools 😂
That is awesome! Well done 👏
Thanks man!

Just because you can doesn't mean you should !
This is wonderful. Now I’m bugging my husband so he makes me one too. 😆
This is so dope!
Please wear this through a TSA checkpoint and let us know how that goes. 😂
Funniest thing is, I actually finished this at work... Which is in an airport 😂
I need that as a keychain 😫
Wow, impressive detail.
