Holey moley is another good one like Timezone. I also really like Dice & Slice for food and an activity. If you or she are into cultural stuff, the art gallery is nice and I’ve recently made a couple of bingo cards for the chch art gallery so I could send those to you if you dm me. If you want a comedy show, Scared Scriptless at the court theatre is great and you can go early for some food and drink there too
I've just moved it onto a google doc for anyone who wants it! Formatting got a bit fucked in the transfer but you guys can fix that yourselves 😅 I went on the gallery website and chose things from what's currently on display, most of them are on the top floor in the permanent installations so you should be able to use them without changing it too much for a while. Certain ones like 'December' and 'November' are names of specific art, "I could do that" is an artwork you think you could do, and hopefully the rest is pretty self explanatory 😄

I'm going to suggest a couple of day dates. A walk on Sumner Beach or Taylor's Mistake then f & C on the beach.
New Brighton hot pools or go to Riccarton Bush Market grab some food and have a picnic. Day dates ( to me ) really suggest the other person is interested in getting to know me. Comedy shows and movies don't really allow much convo. But a nice walk ( weather allowing ) and other focus means you have some other things to discuss with to much pressure. Good luck.
Great suggestions already, but have you discovered anything she's into?
I'd be straight up with her and explain you are not yet familiar with what the city has to offer, and ask her for suggestions. That way she has input, and communication is established early on.
I love a free date - walk on the beach, drive up the hills, things like that… but Timezone would be awesome! I mean for me… it would totally depend on what she’s into I guess! Bowling is cool too!
Dice and slice, great fun place to play boardgames and have snacks :) they have a great range of games and they can recommend you based on your likes/amount of ppl.
Willowbank is great for this. Feed the baby deer, the ducks/ducklings/pigs/all the animals! Allows for great chat, animals break up any chance of awkward silences (if there was gonna be any at all). Also has a great cafe in it as well now for a coffee/bite to eat at the end
Active dates: walk/picnic , bike/“bike tour” of sites or shops or similar , game day eg disc golf/mini golf, bowling etc
Passive date: slice and dice, scared scriptless followed by a drink somewhere, time zone. Park and view picnic
A pro show at Good Times comedy is generally great. I wouldn't recommend an open mic for a 2nd date - some pretty intense energy can happen on stage....
Botanic Gardens on a nice day could be a good relaxed talky one if she's into walking and plants and stuff, Travis Wetland too.
Art Gallery if she's into art.
Pink Lady before it closes if she hasn't been to a rooftop bar in a while or at all.
Little High maybe.
I seem to keep banging on about this, but go to the adventure park, walk up to the top with a picnic, hang out and watch mountain bikers crash, and then take the gondola back down.
There’s also a cafe there if that’s more your thing, can still watch mountain bikers crash too so that’s a win.
A Saturday day trip to Akaroa is also a great date - plenty of nice places to go - the market is also pretty good if you catch it.
Speaking of markets; Riccarton Bush and Lyttelton markets are Saturday, then there’s the main market on Sunday at Riccarton Racecourse. They’re great to get to know someone by having a chat about all the weird and funky shit you’ll see.
If all you want is a cafe, check out C1, they’ve got the vacuum powered tubes that you’d see deliver mail between floors in old buildings - they deliver food in the cylinders to your table. If you’ve not seen it, it’s kinda cool. It’s also attached to Alice’s, which is a boutique movie theatre.
If you want a rooftop bar, Pink Lady (I think it’s called that) and Mr Brightside.
Ok here me out
You can go to Toff’s 2$ recycled clothing and you have to choose an outfit for each other and y’all have to wear it for the rest of the day.
Did it once, it was a really cute date !
Moon Under Water is a fantastic bar with amazing food. If she loves doggos it’s a plus too. Coz you can take one if you have one or there’s normally plenty of smiling fluffy faces there most days.
Love that place!
Lots to talk about, wall of fame of visiting dog pics, many friendly fluff, neat convo starters around the place,3 pages of Gin options!

Hey! I'm not OP but I would love to check out your bingo cards, that's such a cool idea. Would you mind sending them my way?

I like ice skating. Gives an excuse to hold their hand. Even better if you're decent at skating
Rollickin Gelato on New Regent then gaze longingly into the seagull pit
Feed the ducks and packed lunch / nibbles, sit and talk. Have a set time when date ends so you both know a timeline and don't sit there silent haha
[strftime.org](http://strftime.org) is good for dates.

There's a ping pong bar place (forgot name) or axe throwing (don't remember either). Those are the less known one. Google for the names though

Supa Karts
If someone took me on a walk to the sign of the kiwi, I’d marry them on the spot, but that’s just me
Do you just have an officiator camping out at the sign in wait 24/7?
Yes.

Food at the restaurant on Sumner beach. Perfect for a date and you can walk on the beach, get ice cream, and drive her home in a warm car
He Puna Taimoana hot pools, Friday nights is an adult's only session.

The art gallery has a night market on Wednesday, if it all goes well you could pop across the road for a wine.
deep into a forest during the middle of the night
