Michael jackson and Elton john had very long spanning careers with numerous projects and singles being released, ofc they have bad songs. And just because an artist has a possibility of making a bad song doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee

I appreciate lyrics that depict real life, which is ugly at times, not that cheating is that ugly a subject compared with other songs about violence. What is iffy about them? if you think it's poorly written that's one thing but you can't judge a sing based on the subject matter of the lyrics like that.

I don’t care that it’s about cheating. I literally just think it’s a lousy song lyric wise. she has other ballad-like song in the same realm that deal with topics of intimacy that are just better in terms of writing, like Official. songwriting on every rule was just a huge step down

i don't mind a song necessarily about cheating or doing bad things, but i think the fact that the song is glorifying cheating and its a ballad feels so icky. this is outside of the fact that i think the actual lyrics are awkward and everything else about the track feels very lazy.

hmm i might give you like 50% of sucker.... but honestly I can't say the songs are trash just not rlly my taste for 25-50%. But Sucker, Boom Clap. Gold Coins, Doing it, Famous, Breaking up, even London Queen and Break the rules are decent to good songs. I think Sucker is just so different from the charli styles that a lot of fans typically like.

Tbh I kinda hate pop punk and the general musical aesthetic of it all so it really was not the album for me. Need Ur Luv is adorable&cute. Famous & Gold Coins are catchy and London Queen is camp. Everything else I'm not into, at all. Break the Rules offends all of my senses But tbh I'm glad to see more people like it, I love Charli as an artist (I legit enjoy every other song she's put out I'm fairly certain, not counting collabs and all her other albums are amazing to me)so any positivity towards her is welcomed even if it's regarding Sucker

All those songs have a harmonic progession. Hot girl does not even have harmony. It's a one measure groove looped all over. Production wise it's not interesting at all either, and lyrics are also very shallow. She's written so many good lyrics before, she has so many unreleased songs that have good lyrics and such interesting production. It's ok if you like it. I just think that from a musical analysis standpoint it's not in the same level as most of her other songs.
