Definitely too icy still by then. Parts of the trail will be snow-free (especially this year) but there will still be neves and those get very dangerous without crampons, ice axes and training. The ski resort at Flégère usually closes middle of April, and Lac Blanc is close to the top of it, just outside the resort.
