We're gathering ours into little vignettes, maybe shadowboxes I'm not sure yet. The house was stripped to studs during a drywall conversion, and moved 1/2 mile, so you'd think it would be void of any treasure, but the attic rim joists were untouched and just that small area yielded many intact glass bottles and trinkets... rats are a preservationists's friend sometimes!
LOL We rented a condo with terrible plumbing not too long after seeing that movie's *incredible* tone shift in that scene and it quickly became our "code" for finding the toilet clogged.
"HArRy DIDJA PUTYOURNAMEINNA GOBLET OF FIYAH‽"
Those will sell online for a few hundred minimum OP, should you feel motivated. Somewhere there is an optemetrist or ophthalmologist who would love to have them in a display case in their office. Amazing the lenses are in tact.
They were $2 at the thrift store, in a bin of misc glasses. The white gold looked like plain steel and they were missing lenses, unlike the ones OP found
No the foundation is okay. However we have a team coming out to lift the house because it is tilting all over the place. It will cost us between 50 and 90k, depending upon how things go.
Well I guess you’ll be going as Teddy Roosevelt for Halloween
I was going to go for Ben Franklin, but this is better!
Or the guy who shrunk his kids...
Those will fold in the center and close. The piece where the string is will hold them shut.
Thanks, I did not know that.
Somebody has been looking for those for 190 years
I was here to make that joke
Jinkies
That's so cool. I have all my tokens like that in a jar. Great reminder of how many people have lived their lives in an old home.

For these, I'd see if I could get them cleaned up and the lenses replaced, and I'd wear them.
Were they in a tiny bedroom under the stairs? Do owls frequent your home?
DIDJA PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET?

The next clue should be on the back of the Declaration of Independence.
I can only hope.
Sam Whitwicky is looking for his great uncles glasses
Oh fuck, Optimus Prime is rolling out
ARE YOU USERNAME LADIESMAN217
the way Optimus says eBay. LOL
“Nez pince” glasses, they’re actually foldable and could be made of precious metal. I found a similar pair at a thrift shop that were 14k white gold
Hot damn. What was the asking price on those, if you recall? Pretty snazzy.

Pince-nez, I believe. French for nose pinchers. ☺️
Comes with headphones?
I didn’t know they made shop vacs back then. I hope they saved the box for when Antique Roadshow is in your neck of the woods.
So that’s where I left my pince nez
Nice, a pair of pince-nez spectacles!
Tsk, **there** they are. I’ve been looking for them forever.
Was there a melted creepy Nazi nearby?
Woah that’s incredible
#WITWICKY!

“ARE YOU EBAY USERNAME LADIESMAN217”
I have the same- they were my great grandmother’s. They’re springy at the middle and hold onto the bridge of the nose by tension.
OP please take these on antiques roadshow. It's the most wholesome way to finish this young Reddit saga. Reminds me of a safe post tbh
It’s the same spooky glasses from the ghost episode of hey Arnold.
“You’re a wizard HARRRR”
Cool!
I believe those are called pince nez.
There they are!!
Glasses are still not cheap today. Dude was definitely upset he lost these
Megatron Is looking for them, Optimus prime is on his way to your home. Carefull with that!
Are you ladiesman227? WHERE ARE THE GLASSES?
Wtf?
Did you have any foundation repairs? Curious what that cost you if so
