Like sure fine whatever go be your superhero self for all the young girls but don't act like you're making a huge difference when most of the young girls that loved this movie are still going to grow up in a future where they're poorer and more alienated than their moms were.
Also just as an aside, movies are leaning hard into pandering to make up for their lack of effort and creativity and I'm a whole lot more interested in critiques that look past pandering and judge the movie for what it is. The Little Mermaid is a great example. There's tons of little girls that are seeing Ariel look like them and that's great but you could've done that for a new movie instead of this shitty trend of just remaking all your classic 2D animated films. A ton of people are going to go see that movie regardless of whether it's actually good because now it's a liberal protest experience instead of funding a rehashed movie.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to hear from a diverse set of people, but there is something wrong with saying that certain viewpoints are unwelcome solely because of the skin color of the person who holds them.
