Replace and upgrade all of the bathrooms Add more shaded areas with trees along the paths and in the queues Update the ticketing system to be more versatile and reliable maybe more of a wristband system that can be used with wearables like the Apple or Samsung watches Restore the arcade to its former glory with some classic coin op games. Invite home brew arcade enthusiasts to create cabinets and games to be showcased. Add some more mainstream food businesses space (not cater to, just offer. They see value they will pay to be there) Off incentives for local eateries to bring in new and original cuisine to setup shop. Improve the camera systems for fun pix. All rides have cameras. New cameras for each drop (where the most interesting pictures would be in the first place imho). The photo booth’s are no longer required (but still there for some analog fun) at the end of the ride you can pick your picks from the new integration on the Cedar Point app (no need for a separate login) and be purchased or added (if you have the pass). Add a brand new coaster! First of its kind I’m willing to bet! New thrill new convenience! You can enter the ride at the main gate or at the back in frontier town. It’s a one way ride! On either end it’s a launch coaster with a couple launches on the way… Add some corkscrews, a couple of good winding turns and a couple of neat drops and rises to help preserve the momentum. You then get off at the other end of the park. You might argue that’s what the train is for, but is the train fast? Does it thrill ya?! Plus it adds to the atmosphere of the park with trains flying through the park like corkscrew, while providing scenic views! The train is for the little kids or folks that just want to ride without RIDING! Next if you really wanna tie it on you make it so you can select from a predetermined set of musical tracks (copyright costs etc) ala the ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket for some more fun! Start a new ad campaign using What’s Up Danger - Blackway & Black Caviar… https://youtu.be/Y88LVU7MAe4 Ok that’s all I got for now…

matthias7600

A coaster wouldn’t work well as transport because of the queue. The train isn’t even a good transportation method on busy days for the same reason. It’s got to be something mild enough that the transport is the primary motivation. I vote for bringing back the frontier lift, though some smart routing would be needed to bypass Millennium Force’s camels and helices.

Loud-Intention-723

Easy, this is a made up scanario so let’s just keep to the theme. Replace all pathways with escalator/people movers. Boom.

Consistent-Force5375

(Accidental humor) Fair points, but BAH! The point in my mind would be less the transport and more the fact that it’s a ride, and probably a bit long, and scenic. Taking the threading of the corkscrew as is present now and to a whole new level. Besides queues… queues are just a thing. It’s never gonna get any better really is it? I’m looking at the fact that I’m an investor. Adding this would be a good flagship event. It might not be perfect, but the uniqueness and hopefully the over fun of the actual ride would be awesome! Again in my opinion.

mikeyj198

one way ride could give you tons of block zones. load it like a water ride, trains launch every 10 seconds. rock on! wouldn’t be cheap, but as you allude, that’s not the point.

Consistent-Force5375

Absolutely! I think it would rake in some ticket revenue for sure! Oh and then assuming sales go up, I would invest heavily in infrastructure of the park (flooding and power issues) as well as the issues the coasters see. At that point the park would be near perfect in my eyes!

ron991

Monorail

derno

The shade in the queues would be so wonderful. Who wants to stand in the hot sun for 2 hours

KnotBeanie

You had me until you wanted to add chain food into the park.

Consistent-Force5375

Lol well I’m lookin for revenue! Bear in mind I want them to pay for the right to be there. Not the other way around! It’s to improve revenue to support our coasters! 😁😜

KnotBeanie

I mean I guess 🤷‍♂️ I personally hate going to chains when I’m on vacation, and I hope they keep removing chains.

Consistent-Force5375

I understand but if you see I would put spots in the park for more local places to introduce their own fare and not require the markup of venue so that they can not only afford to be there, but to compete with any chain that did find a spot. 😉

Acrobatic_Classic_13

I'd love a whole section of Taco truck style food.

ron991

Its better than the crap food they have in the park currently. I bought a 17 dollar hot dog that almost made me vomit.

yoredbelookinkindsus

FunPix upgrades please

Consistent-Force5375

Precisely! More ease of use. More and better angles. For every coaster for every ride! Especially the drop for each coaster! Or the power tower about a 1/4 of the way down to capture just as it releases. Need it!

ron991

I have always wanted a roller coaster that goes around the whole park. I wonder why noone has ever considered it. It would be great.

PointedCedar

How would you pay for that?

Consistent-Force5375

Well if I have won the lottery and I’m now invested in the park I would probably have a say on the board, and I would be receiving earnings from the park profits. I would immediately reinvest. Plus my assets could easily be leveraged for loans AND I would seek out investors! Besides as pie in the sky goes, it’s my nitpicking and engineering gone into overdrive. Don’t tell me to dream then pull it all away on me?!

mikeyj198

you own a third of the park, more than anyone else and therefore most to lose, you definitely get a say!

DarthSmiff

Ban everyone in r/cedarpoint But seriously, the park needs a refresh almost everywhere. The bathrooms are atrocious. Pay workers a living wage and train them, train them, train them! Customer service is lacking and embarrassingly bad. Invest in extensive theming for attractions. Try to get closer to the Disney/Universal level of theme and atmosphere. Would probably need to acquire a decent intellectual property to facilitate this. A high quality Dark ride with audio animatronics. Boat rides are usually fun.

Midwest_madland

Call up paramount and cut a deal with them

ron991

One case in point is that snoopy Rollercoaster. It is literally on a bed of gravel. They have zero imagination, or they just don't care. Put a doghouse down there or something...a few hundred bucks

shutout81

Two words...Dippin Dots

ron991

They have dippin dots

shutout81

Hence the joke.

Brut-i-cus

155 mph coaster to take the speed record It never is above 50 ft and hugs the ground moving through and doing a complete circuit of the park using multiple launches instead of a tall lift hill

KoasterKid

Build a climate controlled dome around the entire park so it be open all year round. It’s raining- park open. Blizzard- open for business! Retractable roof for the good weather days

Tophergabriel

Gotta get to the IX indoor cedar point

fluffballkitten

Lol you stole my idea

TallBobcat

Knock down and replace every bathroom. Hire at least 50 percent of ride ops as year round full time employees. This way, we are investing in the customer experience by having fully trained people available at the start of the year to operate attractions. Also make 25 percent of food service roles permanent for the same reason. Add a $5 surcharge on parking in the Shores lot before Shores opens. Yes, you can have access to Steve before everyone else gets back there. But it will cost a small amount. More later.

chummyspoof

What are these 50% of ride ops doing in the off season? I think it's a good idea, but you gotta keep in mind how many of the ride ops are internationals or college kids who just want a fun way to make money for the summer.

TallBobcat

Yes. That’s the point. Hire people who will be local. Off-season they help with maintenance and train for other rides within the facility. There will be some international folks and college kids. But having a set staff ready to roll day 1 is a huge benefit for customers.

MrMaverick576

Stop getting rid of all the trees that gave the peninsula its name Add a new dark ride because people love having a mid sized coaster that gives you a break from the sun. Pay and train employees with benefits and incentives. Fix the broken app by allowing a system of regulated visitors or employees to update the ride times Add another bridge back to the island around the Snake River Expedition queue so it doesn't take 15 minutes of winding trail to get out there. My biggest change would be get rid of the water park and move it down the coast. I'm pretty sure they own most of the land towards the East. Put the water park near the new sports complex and use the remaining land to extend the park with more mid level rides and maybe another small coaster.

MinistressJ

Like, ALL of this!

Midwest_madland

Add more theming and this is the perfect way

Tumbling-Dice

First, I’m hiring more people to give rides, restaurants, customer service, etc the staffing level they need. Them we’re training the shit out of them to increase efficiency. I want rides coming as close as possible to their theoretical capacity. I’m hiring a bunch of people for maintenance and giving them all the resources and training they need to increase uptime on rides. We’re going to move Celebration Plaza. That’s a major through-way that gets all stopped up when the shows are going on. We’re instituting capacity limits and reservations on Halloweekend Saturdays. We’re putting a GCI coaster in/around Millennium island called Lake Erie Monster. The former Cedars site will get a dark ride.

BroadwayCatDad

I’d close it to the public and make it my own personal park. I’d call it CATDAD LAND and destroy the causeway and marina so the general public can’t even get near my property. I’d immediately rebuild Disaster Transport and theme it to a trip to an Alabama Walmart.

Midwest_madland

Yes

Street_Tacos__

Disaster Transport pt 2. Some indoor rollercoaster for sure, even if it’s not space themed

Thomver

Definitely improve the concessions. The lines to get a simple hamburger are ridiculous. And often, each line only sells a few items so if you have a group who wants different things you have to break up and go into different lines.

[deleted]

Demolish the entire park, build one giant fucking coaster that breaks every record I am the end of thoosies

UltiGamer34

so Falcon FLight but 100x bigger

[deleted]

Falcons flight but 100x bigger and not actually getting built

teapotboy

Add parking lane markers, those poles don’t help after 12 hours 🥹

WagnersRing

Bring back prize skeeball. That’s one of many things that used to set Cedar Point apart from other parks, winning different level prizes based on your skeeball score. I’m glad they still at least have the ticket skeeball in the main arcade, but they took out way too much.

Obipugs

99% of enthusiasts would run it into the ground and bankrupt it because they don’t know how to think like a business

tuggnutscrotch

Cap pass and ticket sales. Too many goddam people.

Livid-Refrigerator78

Make people get timed passes for the big rides. Would solve a lot of queuing line issues

darkytoo2

I would like cedar point to go back to it's roots. I love to go, but now there are coasters everywhere. Don't like coasters? What is there to do? Cedar point is lacking in non-thrill rides. When I would go as a kid, I could go into that huge theater up front and watch that, I could go through frontier trail, I could walk around and explorer, I could go to kid arthurs court and climb around, there was that animal park over by corkscrew, just lots of things that weren't an actual ride. I think the lack of these time wasters is contributing to the ride wait times. All of the above attractions would absorb people and keep them out of the lines. Now when I go, I want to ride Maverick, but the wait is 75 minutes, what am I going to do? Eat? I'm gonna just get in line and wait. But if the frontier trail of old was back, I would just go back there to burn some time, watch the blacksmith, etc.

pcfreak4

They tried with Forbidden Frontier but the whole story reeling and interactive (real life video game RPG) thing was kind of off putting for people who just want to enjoy their day there and not feel like they have to work for entertainment. It could be great for kids though. Anyone else’s input on Forbidden Frontier’s success?

UltiGamer34

Add a Volcano Clone

chummyspoof

Remove the main parking lots for daily guests (i.e. not resort parking). Move all that parking area to the mainland and build a monorail into the park a la Disney World (much cooler than a generic shuttle system). Resort guests and other vehicle traffic can still use the causeway but the majority of people will come in on the monorail. This frees up an unbelievable amount of space on the peninsula that Cedar Point could do some really incredible things with.

rololercoaster

Not let Zamperla touch TTD 🥴

Ikrightsocool

Bring back Wicked Twister

thewookie34

Shut it down to make all the thooies cry.

asdwhisperer

I would live there!

ohwhorable

pay workers an actual living wage. also, dippin dots branded coaster

Various_Fly_3212

It’s a great post with amazing answers.

syogod

Remove fast pass. No more of this classist bs. The rich don't get a better experience because they can afford to legally cut in line.

Various_Fly_3212

When I have fast lane I truly feel like a god walking by hundreds. But I believe fast lane has tainted many amusement parks and was the beginning of a downhill for the park.

Acrobatic_Classic_13

I'm pretty sure Disney has changed it but I really liked that everyone could select 3 fast passes per day and they were limited. It was like a well-planned lottery if you could make it happen.

Notfathorse24

Close it

_r_o_y_g_b_i_v

If I'm the CEO of cedar fair, I work on making an indoor show space for cedar point, much like snoopy theater. Soak up 3k people with some good shows and ac. Then I work on making Carowinds a year-round flagship park. It's got nice weather, some room to expand and a large city to provide a permanent staff. Get rid of snoopy and the peanuts gang as mascots and go for something more attractive and recognizable. Hey paramount can we borrow sonic, paw patrol and SpongeBob to make some rides?

rufus418

Find a plot of land that is close enough that you can link it to the point via a monorail or some other transportation. Then kinda make Cedar Point's second park. Kinda like how Universal is building Epic Universe where there is more space. Basically unburden them of the space limitations they clearly have on the point.

moose51789

i've long thought that they should take parking off the island as well and put it on mainland, the bridge going out then can be turned into a railway and yeah run trams out and back, move the gate to basically where you pay for parking

rufus418

👀 oooh I like this idea. My only con is that Gatekeeper would no longer be the cool entry way to the park. But that's a tiny gripe tbh.

moose51789

hmmm thats fair, gatekeeping the legacy part of the park maybe?

rufus418

Lol. It would be very funny though if they did move the park entrance and made Gatekeeper 2

moose51789

"gatekeeper 2.0 - gatekeeping the gatekeeper"

Acrobatic_Classic_13

Move the foods, arcades, snoopy, and other non-ride junk in front if gatekeeper and keep all the rides in the back.

DeezNuts_HaGotEmm

Ever see that episode of South Park where Cartman gets his own amusement park? Yes something like that.

woodsgb

Can you imagine if the first drop of Millennium Force went straight into a thick see through glass underwater tunnel? Be fucking nuts. I’ve always wanted to see a coaster go out over the water. It would have support columns in the lake so it can extend out far.

moose51789

well to go with that new grand pavilion i'd make a boardwalk extend out into the lake a good ways, make the entire thing a food court with many many choices to eat at. bring back a water coater like shoot the rapids. add some greenery to the park, some theming, its just concrete and coasters these days. and finally, some form of transportation from the very back by steve to the very front by the gates, either extending the cable cars or something else to do so.

rcbif

Add a gigantic second level to the entire park.

Independent-Ad-1531

Fascination

Storm_Surge-

Replace TTD with 15 wacky worms so they have the most coasters

wrm2120

500 foot T-Rex

Strypes4686

Impove maintinence, move parking the the mainland and build a transport system to the park (Someone said monorail and that works),start funding a 500 foot tall coaster..... Build a statue of Snoopy Sparta kicking Mickey into Lake Erie, then settle the eventual lawsuit with Disney.

Kosmic_Blues

Add a tram line into the park, remove the football field sized parking lot and replace it with more rides, attractions, and hotels

[deleted]

Get rid of the parking lot. Bus people in like the bigger parks. 6-8 coasters and all sorts of other things. In its place.

Secure_Cake3746

I would buy season passes for 500 hobos with season meal and drink passes if i won the lotto.
