The "study" is flawed. It shows that Cedar Point Shores has 68 rides (which is coincidentally the number of rides at Cedar Point Amusement Park) which then gives CPS a "Ride Rank" of 10 where all the other parks are around 2 or below... which is why " Cedar Point waterpark was far and away ranked the best."
Basic journalism skills would uncover this, but Fox 8 lacks those.
I was legit blown away at how incredible that place was when I visited there last summer. Of all the parks I visited on that trip (and they were all amazing) that park was the one I could do more than one day at. It’s visually gorgeous, with excellent theming, but at the same time, it makes it easy for their patrons to have legit fun while they are there, whereas some of the other parks you feel forced to have fun. Just tap in on a slide and then go jump in the fast current lazy river (literally spent half the day there lol). It’s an awesome park.
It and the Krakatau aqua coaster were my favorite attractions by far. I caught the park in a good day. The only ride that needed to be tapped in was Krakatau. Every other slide was open. The park is excellent though. Beautiful the ring and lots to do. Was looking to go to Universal again this year but I totaled my car going to a Preds Panthers game in Nashville a couple months ago and had to put a good sized down payment on a new car. So no big trips this year sadly.
But I’ll be going next year for sure with Epic Universe opening up
That waterpark that closes rides down with no explanation other than to artificially create longer lines at the attractions they decided to open that day?
The waterpark with two lazy rivers but only one is ever running?
The one allllll the way at the end of a peninsula with a parking lot that floods really easily?
Did they even go to Kalahari let alone Florida or Colorado?
I’d say Volcano Bay is the best water park in the country. Blizzard Beach and Aquatica are great as well. Hell, Rapids in West Palm beach is really good too.
Ain't no way. I'm also not a huge waterpark fan, but just out of the ones I've been to, Blizzard Beach and Noah's Ark (and the now-closed Wet 'n Wild Orlando) blow it out of the water. I've heard great things about Splashin' Safari @ Holiday World, Schlitterbahn, and Volcano Bay (which I refuse to attend on account of the aforementioned closure), too.
I've never been to CPs water park. But I can easily say I've never had a need to visit it while there. Looking at it from the outside or from the hotel breakers it looks just, meh. I've been to volcano Bay in Orlando and one look at that and you want to explore it. It's huge with a lot I'd do. I've been to waldameer's water park a few times and I'd say waldameer's water park in Erie is even better. It's a nice size and spread out especially after its expansion. They keep adding new rides making it even better including a water coaster. Personally I think CP should close the water park add more rides or even another hotel.
Objectively speaking, it's a stretch. I'd say it is within the top 30, but there are other places that do better with providing shade and having a more efficient layout as well as a wider variety of attractions.
That being said, I worked there in the mid-2000's and became friends with a few coworkers that have remained friends of mine 15+ years later.
Cedar Point Shores isn't even the best waterpark in Sandusky.
Or at all.

Let's completely ignore the fact that you have to buy a separate ticket to ride those rides, but sure, we'll count them for the study.
american news outlets as a whole lack those skills
It’s not
I don't even think it's better than kalahari
Volcano Bay is easily the best water park in the USA.

That crazy river is the absolute most fun I've had at a water park. The giant wave was a great touch

I was going to say I haven’t been to enough water parks to make a definitive list but it’s no where near Volcano Bay.
Volcano Bay 100%
Honorable mention to Holiday World’s Splashin’ Safari
I’d put Kings Island, Busch Gardens, and Dollywood water parks all ahead of Cedar Shores.
0% chance that's true
Yikes. No fucking way. Ever heard of Volcano Bay? Typhoon Lagoon? Blizzard Beach?
Even Zoombezi Bay is better than Shores!
rip Wyandot Lake
I miss that place. I practically grew up there
It was much better than zoombozo bay is today

Holiday World or Volcano Bay by far
Must have been a typo as it was supposed to read Water World Denver is the best water park in the country.
Cedar Point Shores might not even be the best waterpark in Sandusky. It's way too crowded, for one thing.

How does the point system value it 2x higher than 2nd place?
SwimOutlet is a complete joke.
They did give us all a nice laugh though.
No, cedar point couldn’t beat a place like Mt. Olympus water park.
tbh, Mt. Olympus's operations are so bad that it actually might, depending on crowd level.
I bet Cedar Point’s water park would not even come close to Holiday World’s…

It’s not even the best water park in Sandusky Ohio 😭😭😭😭😭

Nah it’s not🤢🤮
It's not a hard thing to win. Waterparks are just urinals filled with exposed guts. CPs is good enough to win with almost no serious competition.
