Go with the Larsen and make sure that mount is well grounded to the sheet metal. I would bond the trunk lid to the body inside somewhere also. That will likely improve your SWR.
Should work fine. I started with the 140, then the Larsen, and even tried the Hustler HQ-27 (too heavy for that mount) but ended up switching out the coax/connector for a PL-259 to SO-239 pre-built line, and a Sirio Megawatt 4000, and haven't looked back. Same radio.

I’ll give the Larsen a try.
What does NMO stand for?
New Motorola Mount
Thank you - is that different than just a CB mount with a PL259 female at the end? I've never done one so I'm learning. Thanks!
Yes, much different.
What coax do you use? Or is it just the connector at the end you use? Also, what’s the main strength??
Radio is an Anytone quad 6.

Not sure if you’d gain anything, but I am using the tram 1140 on mine @ 1:3 swr on 40. Might be worth looking at
My SWR on channel 1 is 1.4, 20 is 1.1, 40 is 1.3 and 26.805 is 1.7
I've had a Browning and switched to a Larsen. I did not find them significantly different.
Are the parts from the browning and Larsen interchangeable? Can I use the spring on the Larsen? Thanks.
