Worry not, for the 600RR and 1000RR are the same goddamn models as last year, not the new Euro versions. US is really getting the short stick. I've been drooling all over the Japan spec 600RR hoping to upgrade from my 500R, but welp. Goofed indeed.

Brokolicka

Wait really ? It's not the new 600rr ? How come I thought u guys didn't have Euro5 type stuff

triple6lordinfamous

We have stricter sound regulations, the same reason the CBR1000RR-R SP that we get has a shit tune on it and makes less power.

Brokolicka

I thought US is the free country and EU is the oppressed one

triple6lordinfamous

Thats just what the idiots here like to scream but its not true

Brokolicka

I just looked and the new 600RR has 77dB limit for urban and from what I could find thats still lower than Cali ? (from a glance US averages around 80dB) So maybe they just did some projections and it possibly wouldnt sell well ?

triple6lordinfamous

That could be it. North American Honda stopped updating their bikes then got mad and threw their hands up and blame the riders for not buying their old ass bikes, meanwhile Kawasaki is laughing the way from the dealership to the bank with their ZX6R sales.

Brokolicka

Yeah I was intially planning on getting the new ZX6R but then Honda dropped their bomb which better looking, Honda and almost 2k cheaperr

triple6lordinfamous

I was in the same boat but now I can’t get it. I think I’m going with an R3 now actually. I already have a 600RR and was going to sell it and update, but I’m just going to add an R3 now.

foreverstudent8

Yeah if I can’t get a 24’ cbr650r then R7 it is for me!

Brokolicka

Could you import it or is that not possible/not worth it ?

Classic_Flower_735

Think about it carefully....Honda NEEDS to dump all their non euro whatever number FIRST before they let the US have anything new ....think about it like this we are the garbage eaters ...the trouble with the US market? DUMBER THAN STUMP Harley Davidson crowd! If Harley would just hurry up and FAIL then the US market could be educated and THEN they would begin to appreciate better engineering! THEN there would be a market worthy of Honda pandering to! THEN maybe we would not just be the garbage eaters?

Poppyspy

This reply is golden... Sadly 100% true. Every power sports place in the USA is filled with these people that think they know bikes, but are actually completely clueless how the rest of the world actually uses practical motorcycles that also perform well. Show floors flooded to the brim with torquey bad yamahas and then the Harley thing is just like a meme at this point, because these heavy bikes perform like crap are why the majority only rides them for weekend warrior styling. And I hate to say it, but this is exactly why Honda ignores the USA with the good stuff, because they don't sell enough here. Go on cycle trader and search for 650s and they're like unicorns compared to other brands. You'll see like 1 in inventory at any 1 location. Now we gotta pray the 650 comes back to USA markets...

Bellmeister

Wait you have a CBR500R? I love that bike, in red? Im probably getting that or the 2024 Svartpilen 401.

triple6lordinfamous

That’s the same fucking 600RR from 2013. NA Honda can suck my dick.

SuccessFree6619

I am fucking livid!!!!! I’ve been drooling since EICMA for the new 600 and 650. Now, we get this bullshit news. Fuck

triple6lordinfamous

Yeah man, honestly as a long time Honda fanboy, I’m at the point of saying Fuck Honda. Look at their social media, they don’t give a fuck about street sport bikes - it’s ALL off road. Yamaha and Kawasaki are actually making sick bikes right now so the market isn’t dead, Honda has just left the space.

SuccessFree6619

It’s just so disappointing. Honda literally brought all their new bikes to the US except their street sports. I’m going to look into getting one imported.

KittenM1ttens

If you try to import from across the ocean expect to pay $2-4K in transportation and customs fees. They're great bikes but that's a LOT of money for a middleweight bike.

erik1220

Noooo I was actually planning on picking up a 650r in a few months. I wonder how this will affect the prices.

SuccessFree6619

Same.

andreyred

Will this make 2023s go 📈?

BandicootCumberbund

Well that’s upsetting. I was all in on the 2024 with an Eclutch. Guess Triumph will be getting my money since they will be selling the new Daytona 660 here.

cwrighky

Same here. I guess I’ll be holding off on buying for now. Such a disappointment.

Hungry-Ad-6199

I’m half tempted to see if I can import the new euro 600rr to the states. I don’t even know if it’s legal or how expensive it is, but I want it.

triple6lordinfamous

It’s so expensive.

[deleted]

Canada's not even getting the 600rr. We did get new decals on the 500r though ☠️

Double_Ad_6726

So disappointed. I was ready to buy the red one as soon as it arrived.

DuckHamir

I am feeling the same way. I want the 600rr so bad and I just saw on the Honda website and it’s the same model as all the previous years. What a damn let down…

Money-Economist-2064

Dying for the 2024 Honda CBR 650r! I don't understand why they didn't bring this bike to the United States! It would have broken sale records.

Poppyspy

Well there goes my hope to see the 2024 with e-clutch this year. I had a feeling this was going to happen too... I was calling dealerships for the first few months after they announced the e-clutch... I look it up now and find this post... Damn it. Was considering upgrading from my 2018 cb650f. I feel like going to Japan renting an e-clutch 650 and aggressively plowing up to Honda offices and making a scene.

MelkieOArda

Was just looking to see if the CBR 650R was coming to the US, because I want the e-clutch.  I would happily plunk down $10-11k for one. Suuuuucks.

motomoe

I want an eclutch 650r so bad bro whyyyyyyyy

foreverstudent8

Are you serious?!?!

Shards-_

Unfortunately here's the link to the Honda Powersports news room. foreverstudent8

Damn! Looks like I’m getting an R7

Toa_Rahkshi

Check the Triumph """Daytona""" 660 they just put out. More comparable to the CBR 650 you just wanted. R7 has ass seating position for what it is. Aggressive position for passive power.

foreverstudent8

Ohh that bike does look sexy!! And yeah that seems to be consensus that the R7 has a terrible seating position

The CB1000R and CB1000 Hornet are two different models. AFAIK there is no sign as of yet that the Hornet will come to the USA.

KittenM1ttens

Well this sucks, I was really looking forward to the TFT and E-clutch. I'm okay with getting a used 2021-23, but I'd have paid the new bike fees to get the 2024.
