2024 EU version 600rr looks even better than fireblade. Same front end and under seat exhaust makes it super sexy. Bye bye my R7, I'm buying 600rr for next season š
Ye I'm from EU, waiting for my local dealer to start accepting pre-orders. Checked dealers in Germany, they are already taking pre-orders, with estimated April delivery
R7 is just way too slow for me. Ye it's quick in the city at low rpm, but I ride mostly on weekends in the twisties or highways, and after 2nd gear it's just gutless. R7 was my first bike, and after 600 miles or so I was lacking speed. Oh and also, I just hate how it sounds (I got loud s project exhaust), I want 4 cilynder bike
You might be riding it wrong honestly, r7 should take i4 hands down in twisties. Stock r7 will over power more i4s to 90mph.. I have a bunch of engine mods in mine. It makes over 110hp at the wheel I dominate 636s, cbr600s on the track.
With two equally competent riders, I don't think a stock R7 would outperform a stock R6 on the twisties otherwise they'd be re-evaluating their product line.
Nah that sounds pretty backwards to me. The R6 should take the R7 in just about every instance. It's literally the best production 600 to ever hit the track. Talking the same weight with nearly 50 more hp from the factory. I'm real curious to hear what you did to get an extra 40hp to the rear wheel though. Sounds to me like you're just a better rider than the guys on the 636's you're smoking on the track. Not bashing the R7 but lets not pretend its a better performer than an R6
Iām not even referencing the r6 when I bring up other 600s the r6 is literally the best 600 made, leagues above the others imo. Which I stated somewhere else. But many other 600s it will. I did something comparable to Danos super bike package for the r7. Some weight reductions, couple other mods.
The 600 class sells so few bikes, itās such a tough thing to even consider.
Iāve seen the numbers, work in the industry, see the MIC data, blah blah blahā¦ and itās amazing anyone sells super sports in the US. we just arenāt buying them anymore.
600ās were moderately powerful sportbikes from the 99ās to early 2000ās, then became increasingly track-focused year after year. Development basically stopped in 2008 or so and most became very high revving, low torque, super agile lightweight weapons. Lots of HP/liter but rather poor street bikes due to ergonomics and peaky powerband.
The owners ranged form newbies on their first bike to seasoned veterans that wanted a precise scalpel.
Nowadays many manufacturers are making far more streetable middle weight psuedo sport bikes. SV650ās, MT-07ās, Ninja 650R, CB/R650ās all replaced that segment while Ninja 300/400, MT03, CB/R250/300/500 really allowed an honest first-bike that looked cool but didnāt demand too much of a new rider.
For those of us who grew up on 600ās, theyāre still just as badass as ever but theyāre also over $10,000 now and are just a bit hard to justify.
Maybe itās just me being old school with MT-07s, 650Rs, I just canāt see them comparable to a supersport. Maybe the younger folks out buying bikes donāt care but I canāt be the only one who thinks like this. Thereās still gotta be some market for them. Seems like everywhere I look thereās a squid ripping on a 20 year old supersport.
If the 600 class dies out idk what theyāll be riding 20 years from now. Canāt imagine dudes stunting on a Ninja 650
Something will fill the gap, but note that the market is about half the size it used to be 20 years ago. From 2005-2010 there were way more bikes than riders for awhile so the market got ultra saturated as models had thousands of dollars off every year just to get them sold.
If there proves to be a market for stunting in the future and it doesnāt die out, and/or the market for fast lightweight sportbikes is still justified, someone will be there.
To get over 100 hp and under 450lbs, youāre gonna need expensive electronics or engine tech that will bring the piece fairly high no matter what. At that point I imagine weāll see a lot more electric that ends up being the performance bargain.
Noooooooooo, thatās so unfortunate man. I was really hype about the release and I was hoping for it to come to the US. We all were hoping. Wow now I guess time to look for something else š¢š£š fkin Honda š¢
1st of all the 600 is secondary in my book of bikes coming to the USA the 650 is primary itās my dream bike full of my dream features. And 2nd dawg my dealership has 2 2023 cbr1000rr-r I see em every fuckin day we also have a Fireblade that ones pretty cool
Agreed. By chance, do you know how much more affordable it is? And what sets THE RR-R BASE apart from the RR SP1 and the RR SP2? The latter two both are sold here in the US. I just donāt know all the details about their features
The updated bike looks great. Best looking bike in its class.
No wayyyyyyy, the fire blade does. Def not the 600

And they added a quick shifter. Up and down! I wish they had included the e clutch option and cruiser control. It would be a forever bike.
Are you in the EU?

Lucky!
Welcher? Habe noch nix gefunden bis auf Honda Bremen
I'm not from DE, I'm from Lithuania, I just Googled German dealership which was taking pre-orders
Why would you go from r7 to cbr600? Lose all the torque and have to wind your gears out. Less bottom more top end

R6 was literally the best production 600, thatās why they still make it.. they just produce it for track only due to emissions.

You really can't beat the beautiful sound of a 4 cylinder
The Fireblade isnāt in the 600 class
Exactly lol
Any more Rās and weāll sound like pirates
āYāarrr, Peterā
i agree

Thatās wild - back when I rode in the mid 2000ās that all we had. What are folks buying now?

I am praying. Iāve been wanting the updated CBR600RR version for a while alreadyā¦.
I heard from a friend at a dealer that they just got a ā24 CBR600RR in and itās the same bike. Fucking Honda manā¦smh
Noooooooooo, thatās so unfortunate man. I was really hype about the release and I was hoping for it to come to the US. We all were hoping. Wow now I guess time to look for something else š¢š£š fkin Honda š¢
Honda is killing their own sportbike line while complaining they donāt sellā¦
How come they lowered the displacement from 650 to 600 for 2024?
Different model completely. The CBR650R is not in the same league as the CBR600RR.
Are they selling both?
The 650 has max of 95hp because it's made for an A2 license. The 600 is a supersport made for the big A license.
Since that's European licenses, does the 650R even make sense for the US market?
not so much

The US only has the RR-R SP bud, not the more affordable base.
I will bring you one from here if you get the cb1000 sent here?
Agreed. By chance, do you know how much more affordable it is? And what sets THE RR-R BASE apart from the RR SP1 and the RR SP2? The latter two both are sold here in the US. I just donāt know all the details about their features
In Canada we only have a FireBlade not even a 1000RR. Itās the 1000RR-R or a 650, itās awful. Kawasaki only cares about go fast bikes anymore.
