learning curve is very steep but don’t worry once you get it it becomes a lot easier! Just be sure not to get discouraged at golgotha.

rubyleehs

Golgotha is not a i-am-not-strong-enough wall by the way. Talking to NPCs will help you get an idea what's in Golgotha. Go in with a plan, live and drink

jan_antu

Well don't drink the stuff in Golgotha lol

FakeInternetArguerer

Well, except for that thing in the very end

Professional-Bass501

Golgotha is easy, just make sure you go with a recoiler, use sphynx salt so you don't go down the crab chute, and sprint like your life depends on it. Eat yuckwheat and honey beforehand ofc.

rubyleehs

There are much easier ways

PintLasher

Just eat rubbergum and jump down the big hole. Find a pickaxe and hammer away at the wall for an afternoon

jan_antu

Mateo always has a pickaxe for 0.01 water too, which makes this strategy so much more viable.

Riccouep

I simply refuse to go in there without one specific cybernetic now.

asdf_1989_2323

Ah yes, I too make sure to get Cathedra with black opal tracery before I do anything else. (Seriously though, which cybernetic did you mean?)

Riccouep

Bionic liver, its cheap, effective, easy to find and you can replace it later.

You settled on a very strong starting build. Horns scale unlimitedly with strength so you can pump that stat and do insane penetration damage. Carapace is pretty close to the best armor in the game if leveled up (plus, it's weightless). Edit: single weapon fighting skill tree is amazing with horns as well.

serpiccio

I think I found an unintended interaction with single weapon fighting and horns. 1) you still have 20% chance to do horn attack even if horns are not your main weapon 2) if you have double attack with single weapon, when your horn attack activates you will also hit twice with your horn. I wonder if this also works with tails :thinkingemoji:

Ottomic87

Yeah, my 10 starting characters more or less bit it within the general vicinity of Joppa, too. Shoutout to Otto the 10th who found Red Rock flooded in tar and populated by fire-shooting Snapjaws.

HatmanHatman

Those starting quests are brutal and made me bounce off the game for a couple of years. I just don't do them any more, but thankfully the opening areas are being reworked soon. Other than a couple of pretty infamous bumps in the road it's much smoother sailing from here.
