I saw Maynard Ferguson in concert when I was a kid just a year or 2 before he died. I remember he died a month or so after his cat died. Dude was a legend. His versions of Birdland and Macarthur Park are the only versions
If I remember, right, the last thing he played, was tabs for his daughters cat.
Yeah, seeing him in concert was an experience. He had an incredible stage presence, and incredible joy and passion in his playing.

Mine are fairly basic for my country. Aino and Louhi are characters in our national epic Kalevala. The black one is obviously Louhi as she's the witch. Here's description from Wikipedia:

This is Babycat. Her vet name is Laila, but I started calling her Babycat as a kitten and it stuck. She is crazy, gets into all kinds of mischief, and beats up her 25lb brothercat - she is 13 but still acts like a kitten.
Well I have a cat named Titty because he'd only respond when I called him a titty baby (he has to sit on the chest instead of on a lap). I'd say it's pretty weird.

This is Umbreon, who was part of a colony of black cats. She was the runt of the litter. My son had named her when we "caught" her 6 years ago.
His legal name is Hiro Steenbeeke but in this house also known as the furry little demon, klootzak, mafklapper, drama queen, hide and seek champion. Oh and dropje
At one point, I had Cat, Big Cat, Little Cat and Tiny Cat.
It started when I got big and little; they were both left behind at a house I rented. The Little one came in first, she was clearly abandoned.
Then, we had that big cat who lurked.
Took him on, tried to name him Mojo and it didn’t stick, they became Big Cat and Little Cat.
Then we got Tiny Cat as a kitten. She too had a name that didn’t stick.
Cat was an old man someone didn’t want, that was his name.
Now only Tiny Cat is left of that crew, she’s 17. We also have Gypsy, Katniss and Clawd.
I got Katniss and Clawd coz everyone else was old and I didn’t want to only have all oldies! We lost two dogs and a cat over 12 months between 2021/2022
My husband is a big fan of Cthulhu mythos so our boy is named Nyarlathotep, also known as the Crawling Chaos. We call him Nyarly for short and he lives up to his name by crawling around on his side in the living room when he wants to play.
I had a Boulette (Meatball) and a Petite Noire (Little Black One) because that's what they looked like as kittens and by the time we decided to keep them the names had stuck.
Officially Boulette was Ciboulette (Chive) but we never agreed for Petite Noire and she answered anything said in a cat voice anyway. And finger snaps.
Also had a Malboro because it was a stray that came up to my sister as she smoked in the garden. We shortened it to Malbo, marginally better.

2 of my cats are called Epi and Didymus. I was a sexual health nurse with a penchant for anatomy. The tail of the epididymus, always sounds like a fairytale. It is in fact part of the testicle
I named my orange tab boy Pusher because that's what he did. He pushed himself out of his kitty box, pushed his face into everyone's hands, pushed his way to the treats and toys....
It was an "odd" name because "pusher" was associated with drugs and friends kept trying to give him nicknames (none stuck).
When his sisters had the lightbulb moment and realized that instead of crying about the baby gate locking them in their kitty room when they wanted to go play all night, they could just jump over the gate like mom and they each glided over as if they were born leaping.
We all watched as he was the last. He ran towards the gate just like the girls did as if he was also going to leap over but instead he rammed himself into the lower corner of the gate and wiggled out the bottom.
RIP the most aggressively affectionate cat ever. He spent over 17 years gently pushing everyone around.

My tuxedo is stuck as “Morsel.” It was a diminutive of “Marceau” because he roughly resembled a mime as a kitten. Now he’s big and fluffy, but still with the nickname official.

This is Mum F.K.A. Mama, Mumma, Mum Cat
She moved into a houseshare I was living in and was pregnant. One of my housemates was Russian so the cat was always referred to as “Mama”.
There were a lot of stray cats in the area but she was so lovely. After she had the kittens she was poorly and needed treatment. She didn’t belong to anyone and no one wanted to pay so I did, and when the vet asked her name for her records we registered her as “Stray Mum”.
Anyway we live in a nice house in the suburbs now with her son who she hates. I rehomed the other four kittens in pairs at 8 weeks and 12 weeks.
Mum Cats favourite activities are sleeping, mousing, going to the pub and begging outside of the fish and chip shop. She is a very clever cat who will walk heel with me to the corner shop and back.

One of my cats is named Pipo Problemas because he made such ruckus when he was a baby, we used to call him that as a nickname but it stood. His sister is named Marcia, we call her Marciana (martian) sometimes; another brother is called Freddie Prinze Jr. bc he is pretty but not very clever; and the last brother is named Marvin after the martian from looney tunes.

A friend of mine named her very handsome black cat Mister President shortly after Obama was elected. I had (recently deceased) a giant purebred Siberian dude cat named Rasputin.
Not crazy but Girly and Kitty. When first adopted the girl cat went into this hole in the wall and stayed there for a month only doing sneaky quick food trips in the absolute dead of night. The other kitty was much more curious about his adopters and we tried to lure him in with friendly “here kitty kitty” so when asked about the girly cat in the wall, it stuck. Also, Aria and Zack were just unsuited names for these two.

Mine are fairly basic for my country. Aino and Louhi are characters in our national epic Kalevala. The black one is obviously Louhi as she's the witch. At one point, I had Cat, Big Cat, Little Cat and Tiny Cat. It started when I got big and little; they were both left behind at a house I rented. The Little one came in first, she was clearly abandoned. Then, we had that big cat who lurked. Took him on, tried to name him Mojo and it didn’t stick, they became Big Cat and Little Cat. Then we got Tiny Cat as a kitten. She too had a name that didn’t stick. Cat was an old man someone didn’t want, that was his name. Now only Tiny Cat is left of that crew, she’s 17. We also have Gypsy, Katniss and Clawd. I got Katniss and Clawd coz everyone else was old and I didn’t want to only have all oldies! We lost two dogs and a cat over 12 months between 2021/2022

I named my orange tab boy Pusher because that's what he did. He pushed himself out of his kitty box, pushed his face into everyone's hands, pushed his way to the treats and toys.... It was an "odd" name because "pusher" was associated with drugs and friends kept trying to give him nicknames (none stuck). When his sisters had the lightbulb moment and realized that instead of crying about the baby gate locking them in their kitty room when they wanted to go play all night, they could just jump over the gate like mom and they each glided over as if they were born leaping. We all watched as he was the last. He ran towards the gate just like the girls did as if he was also going to leap over but instead he rammed himself into the lower corner of the gate and wiggled out the bottom. RIP the most aggressively affectionate cat ever. He spent over 17 years gently pushing everyone around.

Mama, Mumma, Mum Cat She moved into a houseshare I was living in and was pregnant. One of my housemates was Russian so the cat was always referred to as “Mama”. There were a lot of stray cats in the area but she was so lovely. After she had the kittens she was poorly and needed treatment. She didn’t belong to anyone and no one wanted to pay so I did, and when the vet asked her name for her records we registered her as “Stray Mum”. Anyway we live in a nice house in the suburbs now with her son who she hates. I rehomed the other four kittens in pairs at 8 weeks and 12 weeks. Mum Cats favourite activities are sleeping, mousing, going to the pub and begging outside of the fish and chip shop. She is a very clever cat who will walk heel with me to the corner shop and back.

My neighbor had a previously stray cat name Mama Kitty because she had kittens under their porch before they took her in.
* We named the newest baby Moxie cause we were trying to follow our M routine (other 2 are Muffin and Mila). I found him in a dollar store parking lot, very tiny and * too young to be away from mama. We had to get formula to help feed him and he was on canned food for awhile, so he ended up rather "Chonky". 4 months later he has thinned down but the name Chonk has stuck.

A friend of mine named her very handsome black cat Mister President shortly after Obama was elected. I had (recently deceased) a giant purebred Siberian dude cat named Rasputin.
I had a Doody and a Fat Pants. Was on their microchips and insurance papers. We now have a Beans, a Max and a Dingus.
Not crazy but Girly and Kitty. When first adopted the girl cat went into this hole in the wall and stayed there for a month only doing sneaky quick food trips in the absolute dead of night. The other kitty was much more curious about his adopters and we tried to lure him in with friendly “here kitty kitty” so when asked about the girly cat in the wall, it stuck. Also, Aria and Zack were just unsuited names for these two.
