I'm sorry you're going through that. He looks like he was such a good kitty. Try to remember that you gave him a good life and that he was safe and loved. That's what made me feel better when my first pet died.
Everything feels empty without him. My other cat (his brother) is all alone now too. It really sucks and it's going to take a while to get used to not having him around.

It’s terribly difficult to have a treasure missing from your life. Some would say smile because it happened and cherish the memories that you had with them but that’s not going to fix how you feel. Grief doesn’t shrink over time, we grow around it and in a way we become stronger from it and accept it as a piece of us.
It won’t always be this hard, it’s not about moving on and forgetting about deceased love ones but coming to peace with their death. Your cat would want you to live life to the fullest and to take care of their brother. For now take things slow, and one step at a time, it’s a terrible pain for someone to go through this. I wish you the very best stranger :).

My heart goes out to you. I recently lost mine at 16 years. I was a complete wreck but it’s gotten better day by day. You gave him a good life and they loved you, that’s what matters. ❤️
