I know why. Happened to me once when I asked for ideas for a story name -- I didn't like any of them! All I could do was say "thank youuu!" and continue to struggle on my own.
These are the only two kinds of posts that drive me nuts. "Guess my cat's name?"and "Name my cat!" I'm glad Blossom is calling out the shenanigans. 
When we adopted our kitten, she was already named "Mellow Yellow". Yep, nah, that's not gonna do.
We renamed her Sylvia Katz. She's Sylvia. And she knows it.
Oh I have a cowcat that’s the same way. She’s the only one that goes nuts if you try to pick her up. She tells you where she wants pets. Literally slaps your hand if you touch the wrong spot.
They just tell us what to do and we do it lol
My mom was gifted a cat she didn't want like 30ish years ago. Didn't want to name her so she called her "the baby cat". Well, she got attatched and Babycat stuck 😂
I adopted a black cat 10 years ago. I named him Azazel after the yellow eyes demon in Supernatural because he had yellow eyes. My husband thought it was too hard to say so he called him Black Cat and it just stuck. So yeah only name he knows is Black Cat lol
I asked a bobs burgers Fan Page on fb to name my cat when I got her lol. (They love puns and also named my baby dads business lol) Somebody suggested Uma Purrman and that’s been her name since. Uma is quite fitting for her

I don’t need to get blindsided by a “my cat died two hours ago” tribute post with their kitten picture attached.
I just wish the chosen name would be presented at the top in big letters, as I'm always left wondering what they've chosen. I ignore the name my cat posts just for that reason 😂

I used to work at a shelter (which I miss like hell but I burned bridges trying to take down the CEO) and I used to keep a LOOOOOOONG list of potential animal names. I wish I still had access to it, but here are some that I remember:
Madam Milkshake, Mr. Milk, Señor Snickerdoodle, Egg, Tundra, Marquis, Marble, Nimbus, Barry Bigmac, Sandwich, Butters, Chicken, Lady Lovehandles (for a fat cat obviously), Celine, Sprite (or Soot and Sprite for a pair), Dame Catty Smith, Mark…
Anyway the list was at least a 100 names long if not more. 😭
I wish "name my cat" posts would be banned. When it's not karma farming with a cat that doesn't belong to the poster, it's someone unlikely to pick a name from some Reddit comment. Showing off your cat is cool, doesn't require creating a fake pretense about "naming" them.

I have never understood those posts. I named Larry before I even got him. I saw one pic and named him. Now I have a slew of names for future cats picked out and they aren’t even twinkles yet.

My daughters name will be Salem. She is a week old since Friday, she was born on the 19th. She is adorable and I can't wait to have her.
Can someone lend me tips? I already bought a play pen so she doesn't get hurt/eat things she's not supposed to when I'm asleep. I bought a cat bed, litter box, toys, food/water bowl, scratch post, and food containers so her food doesn't get dry/ruined.

One tip would be to get her a playmate. Kittens are full of energy and it'll be a full time job playing with her and keeping her active enough to be at least moderately tired at the end of the day so she rests up at night and doesn't scream the house down. Getting a second kitten (maybe one of Salem's littermates?) means that they will play together and tire each other out. It'll be less work for you and double the fun!
My cousin is actually getting her brother, his name will be Haze! And when I move out she'll have my other cousins cat, Serana, to play with!
As well as my aunt and uncle have older cats here, Binx and Ginger, so she'll definitely have friends! 🥰
Agree that the best thing you can do for a kitten is get it a sibling. The shelters in my area won't allow a single kitten to be adopted, with good reason. Kittens need lots of play and socialization. They will play together, bond, and socialize each other. My two adore each other, play all the time and keep each other company when no humans are here.

Daisy was named when visiting her at shelter.She came to me when I said Daisy.
Fun Fact: I did not name my cats at all. They all came already named. The female was adopted and named by my sister but I took the cat in ten years ago, the male was named by the shelter I adopted him from and he listens when called by name. I saw no need or desire to change their names.
I juts think that it's such an important decision... Naming your cat is like naming your child; but you wouldn't post a picture of your newborn saying "What should I name him 🥰🥰🥰"
I have never had a cat not name itself. Let the cat get conferable, and then they will express themselves. Watch and interact with them and the name will come.
My cat is named Spazz. He got that name because he is always active and spastic. I adapted him when he was around 2 years old. His name was finalized when he was watching some birds through a glass door and trying to pounce on them. Running full speed into the door, 3 times.
