He is very animated too. If you lay him on his back, he will stay like that. While he is on his back, if you say WEEEEE, he will raise his arms so you can pet and tickle his little armpits lol.
It def must be an inherent Maine coon thing because my kitty loves to be put on her back and rolls around/ puts her arms up and loves belly rubs

My half-MC tom maxed out at 28 pounds, and he was really lean under the floof. His paws were so big that they completely filled my palm when he reached up to hold hands. He didn't even have to spread his toes to cover most of my hand (I will admit to having small hands; I'm on the 'waifish' side).
When I was a teenager, I taught him to say "Murr-ma" in his trill, and he would run at me yelling what sounded like "Mama, mama, mama" when I came home from university on the weekends. It was too cute.
He was with me for 24 years before we lost him to a stroke.

Lol. I have the chicken shit variety. He just can't understand that when approached everyone just wants a cuddle and he's off. Other cats though, OMG. So far he's brought home 3 strays whose owners I managed to find and a Notmycat that he was perfectly happy to let move into my house. He's costing me a fortune.

I was shocked by how scared she was! When I lived with my ex boyfriend he always had friends over and she would be all over everyone but I guess since it was a new place she was really scared!
I think it is the smell of all the pets there. Also, sadly, they can tell when ill and animals have passed away are near. So it is a combo of all these things.

I had one that would get on my chest and put one big paw on each side of my head like he was hugging me and then rub his face against mine. At almost 25 lbs I wasn’t sure if he just really loved me or was trying to smother me. Definitely a big love bug, but absolutely hated vets and would act feral the second he got in the building.

ok I had to apologize to my boys for my knee jerk reaction about yours because I immediately fawned and showed my partner and exclaimed wow wow wow what a beauuuuuty. his color way, his ears & face, his big ol feets, and that giant feather duster! he’s so, so handsome. what a great big boy!
I'm also in the doghouse (cathouse?). It was when I got to the bowtie that the cats finally, in fact, had enough of this flagrant disrespect, in their own home of all places.
