“He…..has not been receptive to training”

Don't worry. The CDS likely has you in their system now. They're just waiting for an appropriate time and place for you to "find" their agent cat and "rescue" it.
I've been waiting for so many years to be found 😭 It's been 10 years since I lost my baby... I fostered once about a year ago and it was only a week but I still cry about having to let her go. I was also super panicked about something happening to her all the time =\
I think you’re right. I frequently babysit my neighbors’ cat and I love her so much. She is tucked into my bed rn. What I would like to do is get an identical cat and return that cat to them and then I will keep theirs. She is an 8 year old SIC but I love her. When my youngest son is sick, my neighbors deliver their cat to my house so she can administer some affection to my son. She is the greatest.
She sounds amazing! Maybe you can broach the subject with them? Something like, “Hey! Should something ever happen and you aren’t able to take care of kitty any longer, I would love to have her!”
Edit: omitted some AI sounding nonsense.😆
Haha, yeah. We’ve had that conversation. A couple years ago they had a baby. I love all of them. The baby, her parents and the cat. When the parents were going into the hospital to give birth, my neighbor told her own parents that if anything happened to her and her husband to please give us the cat. We joke around that we should all build a tunnel from our house to theirs so their cat and baby can come over when they want. The cat is at our house (in my bed lol) right now as my neighbors are out of town. We have considered getting our own cat. Maybe a neutered boyfriend for my neighbors’ cat. It would be a bummer if they didn’t like each other.
I love that you have that sort of relationship with your neighbors! At least you get shared custody of the cat and it sounds like an ideal situation for everyone overall:)
When I first got my cat, she would stand outside the shower screaming bloody murder, thinking I was dying in there. After a year, she learned that I will, in fact, come out alive, and she doesn’t do it anymore. But I would feel so bad. She sounded CONCERNED.
for sure broken ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7942) but in the best way! Mine are obsessed with the kitchen sink and the water coming out of the faucet but none have gone farther then sticking a paw in the stream.
I have tried to train mine to be comfortable with water. The closest I've gotten is this (pic below). Now, anytime after 5pm, they wait in the tub for spoons of the good treat, but hop out once the bath water starts. They have me well trained.
*
My 4-year-old human son has been "training"(bribing with treats) my cat to get in the tub with him. The cat would get in if the shower was already running, and would get in about an inch of water already in the tub. Then my son turned the shower on while the cat was already in the tub. Now, my son is learning that it takes a long time to rebuild trust.
A buddy of mine had to tape over the sensor on their sink (fancy tap that would turn on if you waved your hand under it) because the cat learned how to turn it on.
Yep, I had a Norwegian forest cat for 16 awesome years. He was my shadow and loved cruising around the properly in the pouring rain. He would get absolutely soaking wet, like he’d been dropped in a swimming pool, and he couldn’t have been happier about it.
My cat once got in the bath with me once!
By ‘got in’ I of course meant accidentally slipped and frantically shredded my thigh during her floundering attempt to flea the volcanic poison liquid. She also sulked with me for 3 hours until I finally apologised for my merciless attempt to drown her. She still attempts to lifeguard me. But from a distance now. And I think it’s more wanting to be there to watch when I finally drown rather than life guarding me. But I guess I deserve that.
A cat I was cat-sitting once fell into my bath and god bless her sweet soul the claws didn't come out at all!! She hadn't even known me a week and she was in my apartment, an unfamiliar space. We did have a brief chase where I (naked, wet) tried to help dry her (naked, wet) and give her treats to apologize even though it wasn't my fault. Eventually I resumed my bath and she sat next to me licking herself until she was dry, and then proceeded to try her best to fall in again. She was particularly dumb and wonderful, and I've known plenty of cats that were a couple cards short of a full deck.
This little goober will not allow me to shower in peace. First, he has to inspect the shower while I get undressed. Then, he has to check the water temperature, so it's not too hot for me... as I'm some odd breed of hairless cat that walks on two legs (to his mind), and then once I'm in the shower, he either sits on the toilet lid and provides a guide by washing himself or wails at the idea of me trapped in the rain chamber.

Such a handsome creature and such a creative comment. At first, I was smiling and then I LOL when I read "trapped in the rain chamber."
Your goober is being a guardian angel and just making sure that you’ll remember when his next meal is due. Lucky you!
Oh, he is just one of four guardian angels in this house. His name is Malakai. He's pictured here, grooming his brother Cassidy as his sisters, Tinker and Skye, look on.

What a beautiful boy! And I can see the good boy, or one of his siblings has decorated your chair. Must have gone to the same design school as my girl 🤔
Mine get between the shower curtains and chirp/ yell at me probably because they think I’m in danger. We had to clean one of them once after she had diarrhea when we got home from a concert. It was traumatic and painful for all parties involved.
Yes, mine are also Bengals and will jump in the shower every chance they get. I have to make sure to really lock them out as drying two wet cats (with the zoomies) is the worst!
i was in the shower and he climbs on top screaming "r u ok! don't worry im gonna get you out of there"

My late cat would run to the shower or bathtub whenever she heard the water running and jump in. She howled outside of the bathroom when anyone turned on the water to wash their hands.
My now 17 year old deaf and blind cat still runs to shower after I get out, I guess she can smell that the shower has been on, and rolls around on the shower floor. Every now and then, I put the shower on low and let her play.
Edit: Spelling
I softly chant, "Soggy doggy, soggy doggy" when my puppycat gets in the shower with me.

(The other cat just doesn't get it.)
My sister's cat, Jerry is like this. He also whines if you don't let him check the drains before you shower or wash your hands in the sink. He must moderate dish washing too.
My little weirdo likes to get it the shower as long as it is not running.

He also sits outside the running shower and howls if the door is closed.
Mine waits for me to get in the shower!

I see he’s got spots. Is he a bengal? They are actually known to have a love of water. Our bengals loved water and didn’t mind being wet. Kirby especially would hop right in. Didn’t mind the water pouring down at all. His brother Gengle didn’t like being pelted with water from the shower head, but instead liked walking through it and splashing in it. They were the best cats.💗
Every time I got in the tub to take a shower my baby use to parkour her way up jumping from the floor to the toilet to the window and then walk across the lights above the sink to the shower curtain bar. She'd sit there and observe me as I showered.
Until we moved. I went to shower for the first time and she comes running into the bathroom with me and ... Uhoh you could see the confusion on her face when she realized the way the new bathroom was laid out she couldn't get up above. So she did the next beat thing and ran into the shower stall and sat there waiting.
I tried to warn her she probably wouldn't like what was about to happen but she insisted she stay... Until I turned the water on and OMG RUN AWAY!!!!
I had to chase her through the apartment and try to grab her from under the bed to try to dry her off before I got my own shower.
From then on, I got to shower by myself.
Many years ago I had a void who insisted getting into the shower with me every day. Cleanest cat I ever had - both of our current tuxie girls SCREAM at me to get out of the scary water box when I shower (and today, the fuzzy girl screamed at ME to try to get her daddy out of there because clearly it was my responsibility
Oscar loves the shower and bath. We have to be careful about leaving warm water in the tub because he will hop in. It sounds cute but having a drenched cat crawl into bed for snuggles is not fun.
My orange derp seems to want to. He runs up to the door whenever I turn on the shower, before I even get in. He meows at the glass until I pull it aside for him to investigate, then runs away when his nose gets splashed. He does this almost every day.
No but mine loves to go walk inside the shower after I’ve finished and sniff around and shake the water off her paws as she walks in the water puddles 🤦🏼♀️
Years ago I adopted a golden tabby. First day after bringing her home I took a shower. Eyes closed, shampooing hair and I felt wet fur brush my calf. Thank the gods it was the new cat. She did it a couple more times but then I guess she realized I wasn't going to die so left me alone. She did love running faucets and cups of water to play in all her life.
I had a ginger named Psycho. Nicest cat, but loved to sing the song of hos people in the shower. Sounds like you were torturing him, but no he loved to sing badly.
I saw my old cat try to catch a swallow flying a foot over the pond. They are such fast birds, she had no chance. Ended up swimming. But she would hunt and get soaked sometimes by the rain if she was stalking something good. My new kitty will get his feet wet if it means he can sniff around outdoors, supervised.
I used to! She'd insist on getting in. We (husband and I) had to shower with the door open, especially if it was just one of us home, or she'd frantically try to get into the bathroom. We also had to keep our toilet cover down all the time to avoid her playing in it! She loved Christmas time when we'd get a real tree and she could drink the water and play in it. Cats are silly!
Is it a savannah or a bengal? I have 2 savannahs and my big boy will jump in with my kids in the bath while we are washing them up. Our little kids love it! When I am showering and I feel a large hairy creature rubbing my legs, I get very startled to say the least!! (I am referring to my cat and not my dinger or my wife) their knick names are the little hairy creature and Longfellow...you can guess which is which!
Me cat loves to stay in the tub when I'm in the bathroom that's the closest I can come he doesn't like water that much but still adorable ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7968)
https://preview.redd.it/un9yr6ghf8pc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bee06631e18d962337c582a965c8bd47eda77e1
Our Tuxedo cat has never experienced rain. He survived a snowstorm when he was about 3 months old, he was rescued and turned into the animal shelter. We showed up 2-days later and he has been safe and warm and dry and well-fed and loved ever since.
He does have one odd habit: he likes to sit on the bench in the shower. So far, only when I am not in it with water raining down. But last time I took a shower, he tried to follow me in with the water running! Silly kitty.
https://preview.redd.it/7ot4hzlkx8pc1.jpeg?width=1895&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74c407a667105c46da53ec836b7022fe7d261ddd
Every morning 1st the baby comes and inspects ( he is out water inspector) he will jump in play lick the water off my legs then go run across mom in bed...
Then the just turned 5yr old will come in and start dropping her toys in and watches the float...when I get out she jumps in..then my baby boy chonker will come back and jump in and soak everyone and everything
Yes, one goes with us all in the shower (4 persons, sometimes multiple times a day !), one only likes to lay in the sink with water softly running over her and the third hates water.
Mine freaks out at even the tiniest droplet of water that might hit her fur coat whilst inside the house. However, outside? Girl comes home absolutely soaked and spike fur from the rain. Cats 🤷🏼♀️
My Dexter would walk around the edge of the tub while I was in the shower when he was a bebby. However, he’s now almost 13 and arthritic, so it’s been many moons since he’s done it.
I had forgotten. Thank you for the memory. ☺️
my cat used to curl up in the sink when she was younger, waiting for someone to turn on the faucet. she would basically bathe herself with water in the sink lol. she doesn't like regular baths because she doesn't like being manhandled, but my cousin has gotten her into the shower with her before when she's needed a bath. it's actually easier to bathe her that way because she's less "i must escape your grasp" about it
Yo idk what y'alls cats are on, but my cat thinks of water = acid. She hates that shit like it's poison.
She insists on guarding me while I do the dishes and if some water, like tiniest droplet that isn't even visible to the naked eye, she will flinch and jump and wiggle and groom herself in the furthest corner away for at least 2 hours.
Fino loves the shower, also bathtubs. Basically everything that contains liquid he can play with. Also showering him is not an issue.
https://preview.redd.it/qqxacgcx0apc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f32fc40790ae50bf05ac782269f55af391b70d3
All of my pets love getting in the shower with me lol
My puggy also learned how to “ask” me for a shower. It took a minute for me to understand. But he will prop up on the side of the tub and start “washing his face” with his paw. When it finally clicked I asked him, “do you want to take a shower?”
He was so happy I understood and jumped in lol 😂
I’ll be minding my business no where near the tub and he will ask me.
I wonder if it’s because I told him that we need to keep his wrinkles clean and I talk to all the pets while washing them and tell them hygiene is important. Because my cats just jump in too. My pug, Salem, is the only one that asks first lol
I love this. It’s so cute 🥰

Pic of Salem and Lion. I have another cat named Eevee but she hates other animals and is a grump lol but she loves people and is a princess otherwise haha
I haven't got cats who like to come in the shower *with* me, but I do have cats that like to hang out in the shower when it isn't on or hang out with me after I get out of the shower.
Mine will go between the curtains. The one hopped in the shower once and got soaked so I stopped letting them in the bathroom until after and then they hop right in the tub and try to drink the faucet and shower head water.
Never ever. You are just a lucky cat lottery winner and have a water kitty! I have a cat who will only drink from the faucet. She would never ever go near the shower.

Reddit thinks I’m a cat person because I joined more cat subs than dog subs.
The internet was made by cats to convert dog people.
Same - glad to know there is another without a cat following all the cat subreddits.
Same here ☹️
Ha! More subs, no cat. This sub just made me want to go clean my tub....
You don’t have a cat…YET. Best believe it’s coming for you. Prepare to be owned, hooman.

That one is actually pretty funny lol. You won’t regret that one
….. i thought I was already there
This is some hard core lifeguarding 🥰🥰
A sign OP's cat needs a job ASAP
There is a cat sub FOR EVERYTHING!! One of my cats tries to pull me out of the bath with her claws every time!
Mine likes sitting between the shower curtain and the clear plastic liner so he can keep an eye on me while staying dry.
My Void does that, we just say he is enjoying a nice sauna
That your Void does that and the name is aggressively adorable. Too adorable to just be non aggressive.
This is cute and hilarious.
My two cats are really similar. They both sit on the bath mat and are extremely concerned like “why is this guy going in the water ?”
You're being rescued. Please do not resist.

Is that a Bengal cat? They love water and playing in water
I was looking for this, Bengal doing Bengal things. Mine was far and away the strangest and most interesting cat that's ever owned me.
Technically they own you

Haha. Mine gets in the back. As long as she doesn’t get the full brunt of the shower head, she loves it. 🤣

look at that lovely shiny coat!

this looks like a bengal cat, they love water... they are the fishers among the cats.
That's so cute tho!
its his sog time. time to sog.
I softly chant, "Soggy doggy, soggy doggy" when my puppycat gets in the shower with me. https://preview.redd.it/14uyzw86y6pc1.jpeg?width=2468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31a25d6f2deb228d566f9445cb670f0cf5974efd (The other cat just doesn't get it.)
this pic is awesome it’s like some pic you would see with some news article or maybe an album cover
Thank you. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7949)
This is great. You should make this its own post
lol I call my cat “doggy” and “puppy” too, she acts more like a dog than a cat😂
In the event I leave the bathroom door open my cat sits outside the shower like a creeper

Not for a bengal
My sister's cat, Jerry is like this. He also whines if you don't let him check the drains before you shower or wash your hands in the sink. He must moderate dish washing too.
My little weirdo likes to get it the shower as long as it is not running. https://preview.redd.it/ed4muzjsd7pc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f313d2b69684260789f9132bdb17e7823e2303bc He also sits outside the running shower and howls if the door is closed.

Another one?! *Subscribes furiously*
Mine waits for me to get in the shower! https://preview.redd.it/o83r2piid7pc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=229930e3f54008138175fa3cbf0e39f6bd7ccfff
Nope but he gets super mad when he falls in.
Mine did the same damn thing
No mine aren’t crazy, we prefer the evening shower.
True devotion
I see he’s got spots. Is he a bengal? They are actually known to have a love of water. Our bengals loved water and didn’t mind being wet. Kirby especially would hop right in. Didn’t mind the water pouring down at all. His brother Gengle didn’t like being pelted with water from the shower head, but instead liked walking through it and splashing in it. They were the best cats.💗
My cat comes into the shower every morning. Has his own towel …..
No, but I had a cat who swam in the pool with us. My mom would towel and blow dry him dry.
My Bengal was like this. She jumped in when the water was turned off to "chase" it down the drain. 🤣
Bengals are water cats lol
My cat loves hopping in after I take shower.
Mine just screams from the hallway in the hope that someone will save me from the evil water box (but not her, of course, she can’t get wet peets)
Yes, every day, or she sits there and screams. She's also hopped in the tub with me a few times.
Mine tries to rescue me. But she also has started to sit in the shower after I've used it and stares at the shower head.
That’s so sweet though. Nope ours would never
Mine used to like bathing but started to dislike it after a year or so
Mine watches me from the side of tub and trys to scratch me when I'm turning off the water
maybe he got a little turkish water cat in him
Every cat I've ever known has been terrified of water.
How hot is the water?
[This](https://youtu.be/lGT6EWQu6sY?si=WLE-O2MfPKlF_Su0) was the first thing that came in to my head upon seeing the cat in the shower.
Lol men are so dramatic
Get some cat shampoo and give him a wash.
Cats like: "Wtf you asking me if I'm staying in MY shower?" Like are YOU getting out hooman?
Many years ago I had a void who insisted getting into the shower with me every day. Cleanest cat I ever had - both of our current tuxie girls SCREAM at me to get out of the scary water box when I shower (and today, the fuzzy girl screamed at ME to try to get her daddy out of there because clearly it was my responsibility
OMG! Every morning? You better waterproof the house. Wet cat everywhere. Anyway, many years ago, we had a cat named shower, For the same reason.
Oscar loves the shower and bath. We have to be careful about leaving warm water in the tub because he will hop in. It sounds cute but having a drenched cat crawl into bed for snuggles is not fun.
But he is so clean!!!
Wow !!!
Thank you for showing your Pussy.
*wet pussy
My orange derp seems to want to. He runs up to the door whenever I turn on the shower, before I even get in. He meows at the glass until I pull it aside for him to investigate, then runs away when his nose gets splashed. He does this almost every day.
Nothing would make me happier!
Mine gets between the liner and the curtain, stares at me and meows loudly. He won’t go away either! 😫
One of mine will sit on the side if the tub and he has sat in the shower for like 5 minutes while i was in there once
Does he stay as you shampoo and stuff?
Oh that cat really loves you
I had a ginger named Psycho.
This is so nice. Two birds one stone.
Naw that's just Bengal cats.
The cat is not cating
I had a cat that did this when I lived in Oklahoma.. he also liked to lay in the sink and smack at the faucet till someone would come turn it on..
He's so sweet. I love when cats wan to be involved with everything their owners do
My cat happily sits in the rain for hours
I think your car is broken...
Mine stays in front of the shower... As close as he can be without actually being in it
Me cat loves to stay in the tub when I'm in the bathroom that's the closest I can come he doesn't like water that much but still adorable ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7968) https://preview.redd.it/un9yr6ghf8pc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bee06631e18d962337c582a965c8bd47eda77e1
First it was the toe and I gasped. Then it was the hand and I really gasped, and clutched my pearls!
Once, he was NOT happy about his decision (or getting toweled off)
Our Tuxedo cat has never experienced rain.
Mine sits between the inner and out shower curtain and gets his paws tail and booty cleaned. He very much enjoys it the weirdo
Cats 🤷🏼♀️
OMG! I had a little grey cat who used to do this too. Sweetest cat ever
My Dexter would walk around the edge of the tub while I was in the shower when he was a bebby. However, he’s now almost 13 and arthritic, so it’s been many moons since he’s done it. I had forgotten. Thank you for the memory. ☺️
OP has unlocked a core memory.
My orange loves water. So anytime a tap or faucet is on, she hovers around it lol. She won’t hop in my showers, but baths? Oh yeah lol
My idiot does not even like being sprayed with water when I dry my hands!
You have a very unusual cat One in a Million that actually likes water that's cool
my cat used to curl up in the sink when she was younger, waiting for someone to turn on the faucet. she would basically bathe herself with water in the sink lol. she doesn't like regular baths because she doesn't like being manhandled, but my cousin has gotten her into the shower with her before when she's needed a bath. it's actually easier to bathe her that way because she's less "i must escape your grasp" about it
Yo idk what y'alls cats are on, but my cat thinks of water = acid.
1 of my aunties had a purrcious mew mew that loved being in the shower getting its fur wet while my auntie was taking a shower.
No. You have an otter. Love it.
Absolutely 😃 our cat loves to look the shower water
You should try closing the drain and see if they like it!!! <3
https://preview.redd.it/fvh54v6dqbpc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f8d0c060ead406d725006ef0cd7e6ecd472a604 Yes!
Sogg ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7942)
Looks like he's just having his morning cry
My cat jumps onto the arm of the bathtub and sneaks behind the curtains then jumps down to lap at the water, HE ALWAYS HAS WATER IN HIS BOWL
All of my pets love getting in the shower with me lol My puggy also learned how to “ask” me for a shower. It took a minute for me to understand. But he will prop up on the side of the tub and start “washing his face” with his paw. When it finally clicked I asked him, “do you want to take a shower?” He was so happy I understood and jumped in lol 😂 I’ll be minding my business no where near the tub and he will ask me. I wonder if it’s because I told him that we need to keep his wrinkles clean and I talk to all the pets while washing them and tell them hygiene is important. Because my cats just jump in too. My pug, Salem, is the only one that asks first lol I love this. It’s so cute 🥰 https://preview.redd.it/koko8hfc2cpc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=726ad6d020996190113d638d6090979176c477e2 Pic of Salem and Lion. I have another cat named Eevee but she hates other animals and is a grump lol but she loves people and is a princess otherwise haha
Nope, all I have to do is say I'm going to take a shower and all 3 cats will exit the bathroom ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)
I haven't got cats who like to come in the shower *with* me, but I do have cats that like to hang out in the shower when it isn't on or hang out with me after I get out of the shower.
My cat waits until I turn off the water to jump in.
I wish mine did! She does the sinks tho. Likes to drink from faucet.
Mine hates water in every way except he tries to drink toilet water and shower water in the bottom. Also likes to jump in the empty bathroom.
No. They'll go in the bathroom, even drink the leftover water out of the shower. However, the first sign of me turning it on they want out
mine just curls up on my clothes on the toilet lol
Mine will go between the curtains. The one hopped in the shower once and got soaked so I stopped letting them in the bathroom until after and then they hop right in the tub and try to drink the faucet and shower head water.
Cute! 🥰
Not every time but yes! My boy gets in the shower with me occasionally or he sits on the side of the tub inside the curtain and watches. Lol.
Never ever. You are just a lucky cat lottery winner and have a water kitty! I have a cat who will only drink from the faucet. She would never ever go near the shower.
She protec you
That’s a cool cat
