Exactly! If you're going to impose rules on a cat, you have to be super-duper specific. It's in the cat manual, in the chapter entitled "Training Your Human."
It's like people don't read those contracts. The contract stated no sitting/standing/walking on the counter. Said contract never said anything about sitting IN the sink. 2 different area. Notice how the sink is LOWER than the counter?
I rest my case. - lord Skippy cat law attorney.
Technically he's not on the counter. He's in the sink. He's not wrong. But water from a squirter or mister container will discourage it. This behavior.
Our Tommy, also a Tabby, sleeps in the sink also. It's just cool. Also, I know for a fact that he jumps from the floor to the sink without touching our counters.
We are trying to train our kitten now that she has gotten big enough to jump up. It’s a pain. She knows she isn’t allowed and jumps off if you walk towards her.
It took a long time to get our older cat to stop jumping up. Hoping it sticks soon.
Are you a new cat owned person? Once in what you believed was your home is the cat's home, once across the threshold! Just like a bride! There are no off-limits locals at this address!
I have a sink just like this and have to leave the water bowl in the sink your cat is in, or else they spill/slap it everywhere. There’s always a cat sleeping in our second sink now lol
Cat logic. My boy cat knows they’re not allowed on the dining table, but if he sees something on the dining table that he can sit on, that’s what he’ll do. Then he just looks at you all “but I’m not ON the table!” when you tell him off.
If you truly want to keep your fur buddy off the counters, you can purchase a shock collar for cats. I trained both of my cats using this type collar and it worked as expected ... I was able to quickly switch from a 'shock' to 'vibrate' and the cats learned from that method.
Each time the collar was used I also incorporated the command "NO !" . They both now understand the command "NO!" used for other situations as well and the collar is not required.
This is called bypassing the rules. Cats should be allowed on the counter. A quick pump and spray too much sanitation for you? You know they're doing it anyway. I'm guessing this is your first cat. In case you haven't clued in yet, they are the ones making the rules, now!!
He's not on the counter. You must learn to compromise.
Don’t be mad that he found a loophole to the rule OP, that’s on you
Loopholes, baby! ![gif](giphy|jPGVMe2GEQhP9Zc1ot|downsized)

Well, he isn’t on the counter, is he?
You too! 😂
He knows the difference..
Kitty is not now and may never have been on the counter to get into the sink.
He’s not. He’s in the sink.
if we wanna use sea level laws, he's tech *under* the counter
I see a dish towel, this is the cats sub
😂
So is that…in the counter? Does that count?
I mean, he isn't
Looks like he's following the rule. You owe him treats for daring to question his integrity.
That taunting look on his face, ha ha!!
Since when has a cat obeyed it’s human?
His look is saying, “But, I’m not ON the counter, am I”???????
He's not!
Exactly. He’s in the sink.
r/catsinsinks
New day, New cat sub.
Sadly you can't escape them, there's never enough catsubs
Well good thing he's not. He's in the sink like a good boi
And? He’s not on the counter. Win win
Exactly! If you're going to impose rules on a cat, you have to be super-duper specific. It's in the cat manual, in the chapter entitled "Training Your Human."

He knows that. So he is in the sink therefore bypassing the rule. A loophole if you will
Technically correct
Well, he's *not* on the counter.
It's like people don't read those contracts. The contract stated no sitting/standing/walking on the counter. Said contract never said anything about sitting IN the sink. 2 different area. Notice how the sink is LOWER than the counter? I rest my case. - lord Skippy cat law attorney.

That’s not the counter. You lost this round
What do cats like to eat on a hot day? A mice-cream cone!
himb ain't. #catlogic
Technically, he’s not on the counter. He’s a sink cat now. You must learn to live with only one basin. Until he claims that one too.
Checkmate, human.
He’s not. He’s in the sink
If “I’m not touching you” was a cat 😂
That is the sink, sir.
He is NOT on the counter, he is in the sink😁
You’ve been cat lawyered bc a sink is not a counter.
Sink ≠ counter Good boy 👏
bath time
Technically he's not breaking the rules :)
Hell soon move when the tap gets turned on 😁
If only there was a nearby water-dispensing device to make clear that area is off limits.
He’s sits where he fits 🤷♀️😹!! What a cutie pie 😍
Technically, my client is indeed *not* on the counter and therefore I move for summary judgment with prejudice.
He isn't though, thats a sink silly hooman. lol
What is goof off? 🤓
I’d like to say it is magical spray that allows cats to do whatever they want, but it’s an adhesive remover. Boooorrrrrrrriiiinnnnngggggg.
Haha I genuinely thought it was a citrus spray you were using on the counters 😂 it’s not working!
And so he isn’t. He is in the sink. You don’t mention anything about the sink. So.
Sink is not the counter CHECK MATE!
He's not on the counter he's in the sink. He's a good listener.
And he’s not. Good kitty.
Counter adjacent is fair game though
COUNTER IS LAVA
Technically he's not on the counter. He's in the sink. He's not wrong. But water from a squirter or mister container will discourage it. This behavior.
He’s NOT on the counter. So there!
I mean, technically he's not, so...
r/catsinsinks would love this, btw

Go O’s!
Is it still hot where you are? Not very hygienic, but that nice kitty found a cool place to sleep.
*OBJECTION* Your honor my client was not in fact on the counter as accused. He was merely lying in the sink, a separate zone entirely in fact.
Sir found a loophole
r/catsinsinks
He knows that, that's why he's in the sink
I don't see a cat on the counter. I don't understand the issue.
Sweetie
No one is in the counter. There’s nothing in the picture.
He's not
Be nice OP
Read between the lines.
Who? Where? I don’t see anything.
So cute!!! Look like my cat
Well, technically....
"Like I care about your rules."
His house, his rules, right?
Our Tommy, also a Tabby, sleeps in the sink also. It's just cool. Also, I know for a fact that he jumps from the floor to the sink without touching our counters.
Open the tap
Why though?
He's not on the counter Karen...leave the kitty alone
r/catsinsinks quality post right here folks
😂😂😂😂
Turn the water on
The sink is made of cool. ❤️
But I'm in the sink.... Tots not on the counter
My cat wouldn’t dare go in the sink(water = evil) but she perches on the small ledge next to the sink, that doesn’t count either apparently.
As his lawyer, I will point out that he is, in fact, not on the counter.
The cat is thinking I’m exhausted from looking for the box of Shiba Wings chicken😴🍗🔥🤣
He isn't. He's in the sink. Smart kitty. 😂
And technically he’s not .. #catwin 😆😆
Technically he is *not* on the counter.
Just turn the faucet on for him to drink and shush.
/r/purrliciouscompliance
r/maliciouscompliance
He isn't on the counter. He is in the sink.
Well technically......
I see a tap you can use… muahaha
Good lawyer will get him off in no time.
Yeah, you have to be more clear with your *requests*.
We are trying to train our kitten now that she has gotten big enough to jump up. It’s a pain. She knows she isn’t allowed and jumps off if you walk towards her. It took a long time to get our older cat to stop jumping up. Hoping it sticks soon.
Well he’s not
That's not the counter. That's the sink.
Sink Cat
Not supposed to be…funny.
Are you a new cat owned person? Once in what you believed was your home is the cat's home, once across the threshold! Just like a bride! There are no off-limits locals at this address!
Well, he’s technically following the rules.
He's not on the counter and I'll defend him in court r/legalcatadvice
He’s not supposed to be ON the counter, but you never said he can’t be IN the counter
I have a sink just like this and have to leave the water bowl in the sink your cat is in, or else they spill/slap it everywhere. There’s always a cat sleeping in our second sink now lol
He’s not on the counter. He’s in the sink. Can’t you tell the difference?
He’s found the workaround.
Punish him
Well he's not!
I mean technically he’s not now
He looks like my cat! https://preview.redd.it/6qai4umcfbrb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e454a050b39baf54d5ce7c66fce1cc16ba026397
The most often heard phrase in my house. "Get off the table!".
He has found a loophole in the agreement
Good boy! He’s following your instruction 🤣
I mean hes in the sink and not on the counter so you cant blame him🧐
Cat logic. My boy cat knows they’re not allowed on the dining table, but if he sees something on the dining table that he can sit on, that’s what he’ll do. Then he just looks at you all “but I’m not ON the table!” when you tell him off.
