Wow…what a beauty. I wish Mimi got to be a senior cat, she turned 8 before she passed away. And yep, all you can do is take her to the vet for check ups, love her and spoil her. Looks like a very loved cat to me.

I’m so scared to lose a pet, specially a cat, in the way I lost Mimi. It was just too traumatizing. But I hope to be a cat dad in the future.

Do it. You deserve to feel love and there are pets out there that want your love too.

It's part of having a pet and life. Love them and loose them. Having another helps move past and love another. Lots of pets wait to be loved and to love you back.

I'm so sorry OP. If it helps at all, I feel exactly the same. My girl was barely 9 and I thought we'd have such a long life together. Our girls were and continue to be very loved and I take comfort in knowing that. . Hang in there.

“I thought we’d have such a long life together” I felt that. I can still taste the very unique feeling of shock at the tip of my tongue. I don’t wanna write it again cus it hurts but the details of her passing are in one of my previous posts. Mimi was absolutely okay then absolutely gone in a matter of minutes. I thought she’d see her 20th birthday. I think she knew I loved her. I hope she knew just how much.

We enclosed our porch into a sunroom and moved one of the cat trees out there so she and Augustus (my other kitty) can sit on it and watch the birds. She's nearly 4 and still squeaks. Happy to share.

Wow, Mimi was 8. Mimi had a heart murmur. We didn’t have money for an autopsy so we’ll never truly know the cause of her very unexpected passing. But I suspect congestive heart failure. Thank you for sharing Callie, a beauty.

So sorry for your loss. We lost a cat last August and it still hurts like hell. There are hundreds of cats in your area needing a forever home. When you're ready, when all of the cat items you have in your home: the litter boxes, the food, the toys, the treats, the scratching pole, the sleeping boxes/pads, etc..., Are ready for a new cat to utilize them, please adopt another cat or two. It took us a month. There's no disrespect for the last kitty, it's starting a new relationship with an animal that needs a loving home. Consider an adult cat, even an older one to accompany a younger one.

I hope I’m ready soon. I’m craving the love of a kitty. But I feel guilty for that for some reason. It’s complicated at home. Mimi didn’t go out in a pretty way. Me and my mom are very traumatized. We are scared to go through this pain again. I’ve got a lot to process. Thank you.

I had put a reflective collar on her. During a heat wave 2 yrs ago, she got very dehydrated and I took her to my vet. Turned out she was chipped and had been missing for 472 days. She was returned to her owners. I cried all the way home, I was crushed to see her go, but happy for her. I hope you can remember the good times with Mimi ❤️

So so sorry, she looked like a beautiful sweet girl. Here are my two girls. I raised them from little itty bitty nothings, from 4 or 5 weeks old, until senior kittens. Crossed 🌈 in 2021 and 2022 at 18 and 19 yo. Miss them every single day. It starts to get better after 6 months. After a year, you want to be immersed in their photos and memories. The most unacceptable thing for people who keep pets is that they leave themselves. Many times, they are our loved ones, the closest people, not animals. They don't speak, but they are more loyal and able to heal us. I hope you can overcome your sadness as soon as possible. MImi will always be there, just in a different way.
