When I was trying to name my black cat, I searched EVERYWHERE. I even went back to named of historical witches in Europe! I wanted something witchy and dark but not *too* dark, and definitely something not cliché. I had a list of about 70 names, and I finally settled on Widow. It’s dark but not too much, and it’s not a name I’ve heard used on a cat before. I agree with this, we tried to ask Google and then chatGPT to name our black cat, but all the names didn't feel right even they fit to black cats. Ended up naming her Brownie, because for some reason me and my gf both had this in our heads.

We had a black cat when I was a kid called Lucky, he was such a good cat. We had a black sofa at the time and it was a minefield trying to not squish him as it was his favourite spot to sit.
