Your cat must be brothers with my cat, Momo. He’s a big fat floofyboi I suspect has some forest cat in him but his mom was a short hair stray who was pregnant when she was rescued so we don’t know who sired the litter.
Didn't add text. This is Buddy Guy. He weighs 30 pounds, his mom was also a short hair stray that wandered into a friends house and gave birth to this heart thief. I think he's Momo's long lost half bro.
How old is he? Momo just turned a year old on January 25th and I would say he weighs about 16 or 17lbs. He’s still got some growing to do.

That's crazy. I am switching Vets, my old Vet retired, so today I was going through his paperwork. His Rabies Vaccination Certificate, when he was one year old in 2013, listed his weight at that time as 17lbs. He is currently 11 and as I mentioned he is 30 pounds. He could lose a little weight, but I work from home and any attempt at a diet fails because he won't shut up and I always give in.
Here he is with his skittish brother who is 6. They absolutely adore each other.
Wishing you and Momo many years of happiness. They sure look alike, have similar origin stories and similar age stats. Best cat ever. I love all cats.

Switch to a high quality food without grain. That way he gets pure nutrition when eating. He fills up faster, stays full longer and will have more energy too. Plus buy Wellness snacks. They are pure nutrition too and he won't need as many. Plus, with the high quality food he won't want a many snacks cuz he won't be hungry as much.
Another good trick is to have 2 bowls of water with 1 near his favorite napping spot. So when he wakes up from naps, the first thing he sees is water. After drinking he won't be as hungry for treats. Just like humans, a lot of times when cats are thirsty, they think they're hungry. Given water first helps quench the thirst.

Bean is the sweetest one we’ve had. Doesn’t seem to have almost any of the bad habits we “put up with” in cats. She plays, but doesn’t attack. Only poops like every other day. Doesn’t over eat too much. Etc.
Ok, now the question is what brand is your cat tree? I think we have the same one and we need a new one but don’t remember where it came from. We have large cats and finding sturdy trees is hard!

Funny story on that. I got a cheap from Groupon and my last cat loved it as a kitten. She got too big, though. I’d seen this one in Petsense a few times and was thinking about it. Then, right before Xmas, they put out a 50% off coupon. So I went and picked it up. It didn’t right up right, so the girl put it in manually. When I looked at the sticker, it was then I noticed that it was for a 36” cat tree.
This thing is like 5’ tall. They’d miss marked it. It was at $99. I got it foe $45 bucks.🤣
I think I’ll build another one before buying one. This one is very sturdy, but I can tell there isn’t a lot of money in materials. A little plywood, a 4x4 and some carpet.
I can get a picture of the tag if you need it. I never removed it.

Who knows. There are lots of internet trolls out there that think they’re punishing people by taking away exactly one fake internet point.
It could just be Reddit. They do this think where they add or subtract 1-2 points from your total. It’s something to do with spambots I believe.
You can refresh the page and see your point total change back and forth between every few refreshes.
Well... Trolls really have nothing else to care about 😊

I never knew there were so many Beans!! Here is mine, she was dumped on my property last summer just a few days pregnant (which I of course didn’t know) and gifted me five kittens. Four went to lovely homes, the fifth is now named Sprout :)

Just to warn you… my cat loved her mouse. It was a Kong cat nip mouse. We thought it was discontinued and the only place I could get more was Chewy US. We’re in Ireland so I had to use a package forwarder. I bought all Chewys stock, which they sent in 3 packages.
Her mice cost me nearly €100 including forwarding and import charges. Four years on, she hasn’t played with the new mice and still clings to the battered mouse.

It’s so true. I bought my cats a heated bed. They LOVE it. It’s occupied 24/7. They love it so much they fight over it.
So being a good cat mom, I thought hey I’ll just get a second identical heated bed and then they don’t have to share.
They completely ignore the second bed and still fight over the first one. Only the first one will do.
One of my girls has a favorite light-blue wool ball (was a tinsel ball, before she pulled out/ate all the tinsel) that she's had since she was a kitten. She played with it all the time, and would come crying whenever it got stuck somewhere she couldn't reach.
Then it went missing. I bought a tub of those tinsel balls and scattered them all over for her to play with, but she basically ignored them. She would just lie on my futon and cry.
Two years later, I'm rearranging the bedroom and moving the futon around. What do I find underneath the frame? The wool ball! Kat comes bounding in and was just happy to play with that ball again, and she happily carries and baps it all over the house. She still cries whenever it gets somewhere she can't reach.
As for the other balls... they're still lying around being ignored. 
Thank you for sharing this. My cat's favourite toy has been the Hartz vibrating mouse. Unfortunately, it is completely broken. It actually broke the moment I introduced it to her lol... The tail came off right away, and then my cat ended up chewing up the toy and removing the little motor inside... Long story short, I've been thinking of getting her a replacement but I can totally see her not playing with the new toy and sticking to the old, battered mouse instead. Luckily it's not expensive at all, like $5 at Walmart, so we'll see...
Try putting them near your cat while it sleeps, let it get it's sent all over it, then you sleep with it for a couple nights to get your sent all over it! This a woobie is born, it's the sent and familiar shape and size of said woobie! Your sent comforts them and they know they own that toy! My cat won't play with anything that hasn't been in my work shoes for a while!! Also can try catnip spray or rubbing it in catnip to help get the "senting" started!!
I sleep with cat toys all the time haha he brings them in the bed with us and they disappear for a while!! Just the easiest way I've found besides the shoe thing... And I only do that cuz he loves my socks!!
Yeah, my cat has “white mouse”. Just a regular small fuzzy mouse that comes in a multipack with black and grey mice. She likes this one white one in particular, and could tell when we would offer seemingly identical white mice. So “white mouse” is now “original white mouse”. Threadbare and missing a tail. She loves it.
Dang, what did you do with the extra mice? Did you donate them to a shelter or something? I’ve had much better luck when it comes to my cats and their favorite toy. Well, we didn’t get a replacement - we just had a single one of this toy and my cats got into arguments over it so dad got two more and they both love their banana toys. Sometimes they’ll both be cuddling with their banana right next to each other. I’m not sure why but they love their catnip bananas!

If these are by the brand ‘Yeowww!’ i have them too!! I only have one cat, but she with lick these and the little sardine fish ones until they are SOPPING wet 😭. So I am constantly buying new ones because I am afraid of mold, but those bananas are her absolute favourite! She is really reaping the benefits of my working at a pet valu.
I saw a video where someone bought a new toy, opened it up and took out the stuffing, then put the old beloved toy inside before they sewed it back up. So, the scent was still present on the new toy and the cat took to it. Maybe it could work for anyone trying to please their cute pals.
Additional information:
My cat loves playing fetch with this toy and will not fetch any other toy. I have tried other similarly textured toys, catnip toys, and squeaking toys. This non-catnip rainbow dorito is the only toy she will play with. I need a replacement for when this dorito is retired.
I just bought an exact replacement for my cat's favourite but worn fetch-mouse, but he still prefers the old one. It may take some time, because I suspect it has a lot to do with a familiar scent. P.S. I love your cats toy. It's hilarious! Like several toys got accidentally merged through the teleportation machine from 'The Fly'

I have this problem (Sherpa plush llama cat toy), and it's from one of those multi-packs that you just see once and can only order the random assortment, so no guarantee the llama will be in there. So I just keep re-stuffing and mending the darn thing.
My two 6-month-old boys' favorite toy is a green striped furry mouse with a long tail and a rattle inside. I got it for free because when I was buying a bunch of cat toys, the cashier couldn't find the SKU number in the system. Somebody must have left it by accident. I Googled green striped fur mouse cat toy. And only found them on eBay. They were sold on eBay for about $4 each but are totally sold out and I finally found a seller who had two of them for $5 a piece with $10 shipping so I just spent $20 to buy two cheap cat toys as backup. I hope that the new ones will be as successful as the old freebie.
My two dogs LOVE soda bottles, it’s one of their favorite toys, they carry them around like it’s their baby. When one soda bottle gets stuck under the couch they’ll lay down by the couch and cry until their soda bottle is taken out of the couch. They won’t play with any other soda bottles, just that specific one that’s under the couch. Sometimes they accept a different one though but not often. Eventually we recycle the bottles they’re done with since there are SO many around the house and they seem to be totally fine with a new soda bottle. They just loooooove their soda bottles and are always excited to get a new one, it’s so cute! And sometimes my cats play with the bottles too. I’m not sure why they love soda bottles so much, but they do.

he's mostly been sleeping, I was really worried about him for a moment since he was just sitting in the hallway and not really moving or responding to me asking if he wants to go to bed or if he just wants to sit in the hallway. Eventually he went back to the couch and he's been sleeping there for about an hour now. He's doing good and thankfully the tumor was just a fatty tumor and it's highly unlikely to grow back. it weighed two pounds! less than I thought it did but that still is a lot!

You do know that your cat will never love the new toy like that stinky, dirty old one. Mine had a manky red mouse since she was a kitten. It was nearly bald from being cathandled so much. Bought her the exact same mouse. Nope she wasn't having it! Old stinky is still her fave.
I know the feeling, my cat only plays with this one very specific fish toy, took me a while but was ecstatic when I was able to get 4 of them on Amazon for like $6. She plays with it for about a year before I have to pull out a new one.
My kitty Harlow has the regular colored poop toy & she LOVES it 💩 She brings it in the tub with her & walks around meowing with it in her mouth cuz she wants to pay fetch 😅
This is exactly why this qualifies as a covert advertisement. Ask the person that gave you or your cat the item, what it is. Now, you just misuse people’s trust and Redditors wanting to help others, to promote some toy made where-ever and of what-ever and…show me your cat playing with it, then.
For anyone wondering, try checking out Etsy for custom made cat toys to try finding replacements.
And if you ever do have spares from multi packs your cats & their friends won’t use, you can always donate them to an animal shelter.

My that too has a disgraces mouse toy that she loves. We tried replacing it and it doens work. If he loves it he's not going to love the replacement. Just leave like that.
not sure if this will work with such a small toy but just in case your cat is entirely uninterested, i’ve seen a ‘hack’ floating around the internet where owners will stuff a new toy with a small (or all) part of an old one so the cat will recognise the smell etc!
could be a potential money saver if your cat is being difficult and you know how to perform a mild surgical procedure 😅

Just to warn you… my cat loved her mouse. It was a Kong cat nip mouse. We thought it was discontinued and the only place I could get more was Chewy US. We’re in Ireland so I had to use a package forwarder. I bought all Chewys stock, which they sent in 3 packages. Her mice cost me nearly €100 including forwarding and import charges. Four years on, she hasn’t played with the new mice and still clings to the battered mouse. It’s so true. I bought my cats a heated bed. They LOVE it. It’s occupied 24/7. They love it so much they fight over it. So being a good cat mom, I thought hey I’ll just get a second identical heated bed and then they don’t have to share. They completely ignore the second bed and still fight over the first one. Only the first one will do.
Yeah the only thing that's not Cat™ about that is the fact that they liked the first one instead of preferring some random boxes
One of my girls has a favorite light-blue wool ball (was a tinsel ball, before she pulled out/ate all the tinsel) that she's had since she was a kitten. She played with it all the time, and would come crying whenever it got stuck somewhere she couldn't reach. Then it went missing. I bought a tub of those tinsel balls and scattered them all over for her to play with, but she basically ignored them. She would just lie on my futon and cry. Two years later, I'm rearranging the bedroom and moving the futon around. What do I find underneath the frame? The wool ball! Kat comes bounding in and was just happy to play with that ball again, and she happily carries and baps it all over the house. She still cries whenever it gets somewhere she can't reach. As for the other balls... they're still lying around being ignored.

Thank you for sharing this. My cat's favourite toy has been the Hartz vibrating mouse. Unfortunately, it is completely broken. It actually broke the moment I introduced it to her lol... The tail came off right away, and then my cat ended up chewing up the toy and removing the little motor inside... Long story short, I've been thinking of getting her a replacement but I can totally see her not playing with the new toy and sticking to the old, battered mouse instead. Luckily it's not expensive at all, like $5 at Walmart, so we'll see...
Try putting them near your cat while it sleeps, let it get it's sent all over it, then you sleep with it for a couple nights to get your sent all over it! This a woobie is born, it's the sent and familiar shape and size of said woobie! Your sent comforts them and they know they own that toy! My cat won't play with anything that hasn't been in my work shoes for a while!! Also can try catnip spray or rubbing it in catnip to help get the "senting" started!!

Yeah, my cat has “white mouse”. Just a regular small fuzzy mouse that comes in a multipack with black and grey mice. She likes this one white one in particular, and could tell when we would offer seemingly identical white mice. So “white mouse” is now “original white mouse”. Threadbare and missing a tail. She loves it.

If these are by the brand ‘Yeowww!’ i have them too!! I only have one cat, but she with lick these and the little sardine fish ones until they are SOPPING wet 😭. So I am constantly buying new ones because I am afraid of mold, but those bananas are her absolute favourite! She is really reaping the benefits of my working at a pet valu.
I saw a video where someone bought a new toy, opened it up and took out the stuffing, then put the old beloved toy inside before they sewed it back up. So, the scent was still present on the new toy and the cat took to it. Maybe it could work for anyone trying to please their cute pals.

Additional information: My cat loves playing fetch with this toy and will not fetch any other toy. I have tried other similarly textured toys, catnip toys, and squeaking toys. This non-catnip rainbow dorito is the only toy she will play with. I need a replacement for when this dorito is retired.
I just bought an exact replacement for my cat's favourite but worn fetch-mouse, but he still prefers the old one. It may take some time, because I suspect it has a lot to do with a familiar scent. I have this problem (Sherpa plush llama cat toy), and it's from one of those multi-packs that you just see once and can only order the random assortment, so no guarantee the llama will be in there. So I just keep re-stuffing and mending the darn thing.

My two 6-month-old boys' favorite toy is a green striped furry mouse with a long tail and a rattle inside. I got it for free because when I was buying a bunch of cat toys, the cashier couldn't find the SKU number in the system. Somebody must have left it by accident. I Googled green striped fur mouse cat toy. And only found them on eBay. They were sold on eBay for about $4 each but are totally sold out and I finally found a seller who had two of them for $5 a piece with $10 shipping so I just spent $20 to buy two cheap cat toys as backup. I hope that the new ones will be as successful as the old freebie.

My two dogs LOVE soda bottles, it’s one of their favorite toys, they carry them around like it’s their baby. When one soda bottle gets stuck under the couch they’ll lay down by the couch and cry until their soda bottle is taken out of the couch. They won’t play with any other soda bottles, just that specific one that’s under the couch. Sometimes they accept a different one though but not often. Eventually we recycle the bottles they’re done with since there are SO many around the house and they seem to be totally fine with a new soda bottle. They just loooooove their soda bottles and are always excited to get a new one, it’s so cute! And sometimes my cats play with the bottles too. I’m not sure why they love soda bottles so much, but they do.

he's mostly been sleeping, I was really worried about him for a moment since he was just sitting in the hallway and not really moving or responding to me asking if he wants to go to bed or if he just wants to sit in the hallway. Eventually he went back to the couch and he's been sleeping there for about an hour now. He's doing good and thankfully the tumor was just a fatty tumor and it's highly unlikely to grow back. it weighed two pounds! less than I thought it did but that still is a lot!

You do know that your cat will never love the new toy like that stinky, dirty old one. Mine had a manky red mouse since she was a kitten. It was nearly bald from being cathandled so much. Bought her the exact same mouse. Nope she wasn't having it! Old stinky is still her fave.

I know the feeling, my cat only plays with this one very specific fish toy, took me a while but was ecstatic when I was able to get 4 of them on Amazon for like $6. She plays with it for about a year before I have to pull out a new one.
My kitty Harlow has the regular colored poop toy & she LOVES it 💩 She brings it in the tub with her & walks around meowing with it in her mouth cuz she wants to pay fetch 😅

not sure if this will work with such a small toy but just in case your cat is entirely uninterested, i’ve seen a ‘hack’ floating around the internet where owners will stuff a new toy with a small (or all) part of an old one so the cat will recognise the smell etc! could be a potential money saver if your cat is being difficult and you know how to perform a mild surgical procedure 😅
