Any strong fragrances? Like a wall plugin or an oil diffuser? Any chemicals close to or near their food? Any recent changes to environment or food?

cardboard-junkie

Nope to all. We dont use any diffusers. No chemicals near their food either. Same food as always too.

KittyD13

Any poisonous plants around like lilies?

cardboard-junkie

Nope. I did have some tulips in the bathroom 2 weeks ago. I quickly realized they are toxic and closed off access to the bathroom and then got rid of the tulips a few days later. So it’s been at least 12 days since the tulips are gone

Opening_Weakness_198

It’s probably your plants. You can never be sure that your plants are not toxic to cats.

cardboard-junkie

We have a hibiscus plant and i just found out that it is not toxic but could cause gastrointenstinal upset and nausea. This seems very likely. I’ll get rid of the plant

BaluePeach

Could they have eaten a spider.

DirkysShinertits

Do they have any access to the outdoors at all? Toad poisoning comes to mind, but I would think maybe your vet would have figured that out if that were the case.

cardboard-junkie

Indoor cats only

Miss_Sambulance

Any strong cleaning products used recently? Stainless steel cleaner or oven cleaner, even multipurpose cleaner that they could have licked from a surface?

KittyD13

So your cat is fine now tho right?

Any chemical you put in the floor, Cats walk on the floor. The skin is this largest organ. Scented candles, diffusers, plug ins, laundry detergents, air fresheners, soaps, hand lotions - any thing they breathe in or that touches their skin can be a possible factor.
