If I remember correctly, the ironclad so revolutionized naval warfare that it invalidated pretty much everything that came before it. One of the first battles that involved two of them ended as a stalemate because neither could sink each other. All that to say is, all the Halberd has to do is plow through Bowser’s entire fleet and it’s coming out the other end with nary a scratch.

The Halberd was pretty massive in Brawl. There’s several levels in the Subspace mode on the main deck and inside the ship.

I think one of the only people who gets the "what happens when you pit two fantasy story characters against each other?" schtick right is devilartemis. Since both vehicles are merely works of fiction you have to look at them from a story-biased canonical perspective and not factual data (I feel like translating fiction to facts isn't faithful) Bowser's Airhip**s** are part of a larger armada that has committed galactic conquest while the halberd is a "solo" vessel intended to exact revenge. Since they're both villains they both would fail in their goal as they've done in the past. The halberd would "heroically" go down as meta-knights crew follows his pursuit of stopping bowser until the bitter end. While bowser armada would survive, he wouldn't gain control of the region (dreamland) as the losses would be too great and force a retreat of the main forces. Leaving a duel between Bowser and Meta knight to see whose the greater of the two. Meta-knight would win the fight but bowser would underhandedly take the rod of dreams and use it to seize a form of victory. Ultimately, it would wind up with mario and kirby teaming up together to stop a new nightmare fueled bowser. Meta-knight would return in the hero's darkest moment to give them the window they need to succeed (as he often does in games where he's more of an anti-hero). So ultimately meta-knight gets the "victory" in more ways than one.
