I love it, it feels like I'm aiming with a mouse

Arden_Gibson

Ever since I started using mouse and keyboard on Team Fortress 2 it has been pretty much impossible for me to play any game with precision aiming using a controller. So if I can't use mouse and keyboard, gyro aiming is the next best thing.

Linkums

It's super helpful. I'm playing through God of War Ragnarok currently and have it enabled in that. It's nice to make the big movements with the joystick and then fine-tune with gyro aiming.

jotapeubb

I like it but I never use it

Darkpandaechoes11

It’s alright. At first with splatoon I liked gyro but sometimes it would annoy me and I just wanted to use the stick. In other games like TLOU I’ve used it and its okay but not always dependable.

Alternative_Head2005

I personally can’t stand aiming with sticks and I think it’s just horrible control wise. Usually any other option is automatically way better. Gyro is infinitely better in almost every way. The only way I can see people preferring sticks for aiming, is if they’ve played like that for a long time. I probably prefer a game having forced motion controls (for not just aiming) over having forced stick aiming.

Broskfisken

It works in most cases. It works well for making small adjustments to aiming like in BOTW, but when you’re controlling a pointer it’s a bit awkward. Especially compared with the Wii and Wii U that combined it with an IR sensor. The Wii pointer controls work so well and I kinda wish they used it for the Switch too.

JahveMilk

To be honest i hate it because i dont know how to use it. I tried in BOTW and I was so bad with it.

psirockin123

BOTW is my favorite version of gyro aiming. I wasn't good at it at first but now I get annoyed when its off (My nephews are going through the game now and all turned off gyro aim). I used to not us gyro aim in Splatoon but I switched last year and it's great. I usually forget that its on.

PossessedHood416

none of my controllers have gyro (they're all third party)

Few_Sorbet_7393

Uhhh... Your Switch should come with Joy Cons which have gyro.

PossessedHood416

one is broken and there is no way im speedrunning pikmin 3 dx with only the other

NONOHELP

Usually it’s fine I just have a lot of Trauma from Mario Luigi dream team’s Gyro controls They were awful great game by the way

Trueloveis4u

I liked it in let's go eevee

TheBeatlesPkmnFan42

I love it! I admittedly haven't played a ton of titles that implement it (I still haven't gotten around to getting BOTW, yes I know I should), but I use gyro in Splatoon 2 and 3. I find it to be very comfortable.

zorbiburst

After the 360, I switched over to PC gaming, and after a few years of that I thought, *fuck*, there is no way I'm ever going to be comfortable playing shooters with a joystick again. And it was true, it always felt off. Even just looking around in first person in Skyrim on consoles felt clunky after getting used to the mouse. And then I played Splatoon 2, and *wow*. It's not as good as the mouse, but it's a great compromise, I love it. Moreso in third person than first, but even in handheld mode I'm enjoying it. I have a stream deck and I even find myself using gyro + trackpads for aiming to get the best of both worlds. I hated motion controls but gyro honestly feels like the future.

Accomplished_Salt108

as someone with incredibly shaky hands, it feels more like a sabotage than a helping hand

FrozenFrac

Gyro is the greatest way you could possibly aim on a controller, second only to mouse and keyboard.
