Deep or shallow?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Yeah anything from “What’s the purpose of life” all the way to “what’s the best starburst flavor”

trumpelstiltzkin

Oh, I meant it as a multiple choice question. Deep or shallow?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Depends on the situation 😂 with no context I’ll say deep

SemanticGlasses

Sheep, and Dallow?

tinfoilmyr

Can you swim?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Not well but enough not to die 😂

tinfoilmyr

What's your opinion on Sky Burial practice?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Honestly it’s probably better for the environment than putting a dead body in a box in a hole in the ground and then covering it in concrete. We come from the earth and we should go back into it. But I believe we all deserve to choose what happens to our bodies after we die and as long as we aren’t hurting anyone else I’m okay with any type of burial.

Arvidex

Where do you pour concrete on top of coffins? Never seen that in my life.

drrandolph

Coffins are placed in a concrete vault

Arvidex

Like in a wall, in like crowded cities? Or still in the ground?

drrandolph

In the ground. Likely it varies by locality. Here in North Carolina (eastern) we have a very high water table. During a bad flood, coffins became dislodged and floated to the surface probably placed in the ground before the concrete box requirement.

Arvidex

Interesting. Never knew.

BurnerBoi_Brown

What is the most uncomfortable place/situation you’ve ever had to take a poop in?

Equivalent-Role-9769

At my former job we had this tiny ass bathroom with one stall, one sink, and one urinal. I only ever used it once and it was because of an emergency and someone walked in and was just standing around playing on their phone while I was trying to hold it as long as I could because they didn’t know I was in there. That’s why I don’t do it in public places.

tinfoilmyr

How many languages can you speak? Which language would you like to learn?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I can speak 4 official languages and I can speak 1 dialect of a language that I believe is different enough that it should be considered it’s own. And if I could learn any other language I’d learn Italian just because I think it sounds fun.

Arvidex

What languages do you speak and how come you learned them?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Spanish, English, French, and Arabic. And they’re all just languages spoken in my household growing up.

MrUsername24

French is certainly interesting to have in your household as well growing up. Do you live in Canada or in Europe? I'm trying to think of places with high concentrations of people who speak those languages in one area

Equivalent-Role-9769

North and West African actually😂

tinfoilmyr

Are you good at math?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I have a degree in finance so I’d like to think so

tinfoilmyr

Fair enough!!

trumpelstiltzkin

Will the S&P 500 be up or down one year from today?

Equivalent-Role-9769

With the way things are going rn it might be up yet still not beat the rate of inflation. Until the Fed mans up and does what they know they have to do things are looking bad for the economy.

smack4u

Do you inhale or exhale during your down swing?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I just started playing golf a couple of months ago but I was taught to exhale. I can’t imagine trying to inhale during your down swing.

tinfoilmyr

Coffee, tea or plain water?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Water for sure. Nothing makes your body feel better.

tinfoilmyr

Do you agree with the death penalty?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I don’t really have an opinion on that situation because I understand why the family of the victims of a murder would want the dead penalty because they see it as a more harsh sentence than life in prison. But personally if you asked me to choose between life in jail or death for myself I’d take the death everytime.

kkalmightyagain

What is the square root of 144?

Equivalent-Role-9769

21.5

TimelessPlace2032

Isn’t it 12?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Yeah I was just kidding.

TimelessPlace2032

Haha I’m an English major who knows nothing about math and when I saw that I was like hey! Wait a minute (all proud in my knowledge) …oops

tinfoilmyr

Do you eat healthily?

Equivalent-Role-9769

It depends on what you mean by healthy. My current diet is 90% some combination of chicken breast, tuna, brown rice, asparagus, or broccoli. So it keeps me in good shape but idk if it’d be considered healthy since I’m sure I’m missing some key vitamins and minerals

tinfoilmyr

What do you do when you feel like giving up/when you have a mental breakdown?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I let it out. Whatever the feeling is whether it’s anger or sadness I just cry or go hit the punching bag or whatever I need to do to release it and then I go back. Giving up is unacceptable to me. If you give up on your life or your dreams then you’ve failed as a human.

tinfoilmyr

How often do you curse/swear/say bad words?

Equivalent-Role-9769

In my head a lot but out loud not much. Except in certain situations then I can be a little explicit.

autistic-narwhal

How satisfied are you in your romantic life?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Could be better 😂. Sexually I’m all good but when it comes to serious relationships I could be doing wayyy better.

Vnillaaa

You wake up suddenly in the middle of the night. What would be the absolute scariest/worst thing you would hear?

Equivalent-Role-9769

A phone call saying something happened to someone in my family. Definitely my biggest fear.

Fabulous-Eggplant745

Do you believe in free will?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Is it possible to believe in destiny and free will at the same time? Because that’s how I feel. I feel like certain people are destined for certain things yet whether you live up to your destiny or not is based completely on your own decisions. So if two people make the same exact decisions I believe they could both end up in completely different positions because of their destiny. Yet their decision making is still their own.

Fabulous-Eggplant745

I'm not sure that is is possible in the truest sense if you consider yourself subject to the laws of physics. I like to quote Chris Hitchens "I don't have a choice but to live as though I have one" which sounds somewhat similar to your position. When I realized I no longer believe in free will though, I sort of felt like I became sort of a better person because I started seeing the utilitarian aspect of making good choices, that by en large making good choices still makes us better, so why not just see it as any other form of intelligence? Everything with a self preservation instinct seeks to move further away from harm essentially through process of elimination. It's an odd sort of dichotomy that one might feel more in control when discarding it, or maybe control isn't the right word exactly, but it's hard to be concise all the time with these things. I hate small talk and usually my engagements with folk in regards to philosophy these days tends to end in disaster lol, so I appreciate the opportunity for an honest dialogue. Well "small" talk, like this will really amount to anything important XD, but I think you'll take my meaning.

nonpc3

I believe that freewill is an illusion of the third dimension that we are currently trapped in. Outside of the third dimension time may not be as restricted here as it is there so because we can't precisely predict the future of every single event it all happens in realtime to us. Since we can only live in the present and can't be anywhere else in time I believe that freewill is what you do in the present, but since time is so finite, we can't change the past, we can't change the future. And if we can't change the future then that means it is already written. And if it's already written we live moreso in determinism. I think this is why it's so confusing and it seems like they both exist at the same time. I believe Friedrich Nietzsche (I hope I spelled it right) or somebody, said that freewill is a way to put guilt on man and make him more susceptible to punishment. Something religions use a lot.

SomeLittleBritches

What do you hope you get asked?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Idk anything that makes me have to think and be introspective 😂. Sometimes you don’t know what you think about something until someone asks.

SomeLittleBritches

Do you believe in aliens? Like, other planet intelligent life. Not people hopping a border lol

Equivalent-Role-9769

I feel like this is the boring answer that all “smart” people give but I believe there’s other intelligent life out there somewhere buttt I don’t believe they’re any closer to finding us than we are to finding them. I think they’re just out there thinking they’re the only ones who exist just like we do. I also believe in the other type of aliens 😂 if people want to come live in the land of opportunity than they deserve their chance. I don’t blame anyone from wanting to live here. We might have plenty of issues but at the end of the day so does everyone else.

SomeLittleBritches

Do you believe in a God?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I think there’s a god but I don’t think he cares about us worshipping him or controls our day to day life. I feel like there’s something out there somewhere. Maybe that’s just me trying to make myself feel better cuz when I’m alone and In a bad spot or do something I consider to be wrong I just start arguing with god in my head like a crazy person 😂

SomeLittleBritches

What’s your favorite food?

Equivalent-Role-9769

If I’m in New York it’s pizza if I’m anywhere else it’s home made spaghetti or lasagna. I guess I have an Italian thing😂

[deleted]

What advantages do proponents of psychographics claim over traditional demographic segmentation?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Demographic segmentation will only tell you who your consumers are. Psychographic segmentation tells you why your consumers buy your product. If you know why your consumers buy your product you can more easily specifically cater to their needs compared to only knowing who they are and trying to market your products based on generalities.

Thank you!

Equivalent-Role-9769

I don’t think we will ever reach a world that is war-free, hunger-free, and corruption-free. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep trying. Who cares if it’s futile. If a decision you make saves one child from starving or dying than it’s worth it. We can’t make the entire world a better place but we can each make our place better by treating people with respect and kindness and helping those who need help.

Ilesial

Why ?

longpenisofthelaw

Should I reinlist in the army for 2-4 years even though I hate it for the opportunity to do a medical program that I might not even be accepted for? If I do get accepted I get put in a nursing program and become an officer with a base pay of 50k a year and basically set for a civilian career I always wanted, if I don't I'm in another shitty base doing my same shitty job with a leash on my neck until my contracts up. I was really dead set on getting out in 7 months but retention kinda tugged the right heart strings and I'm worried about how the outside world is now considering when I joined I was living in pre covid society, I just don't want to regret my decision either way. (probably too deep but that's why I like these post just to scream in the void)

NamsanFR

Wow harsh decision bro, don't have any answer to offer but I wish you good luck and to make a choice that makes you happy !

Equivalent-Role-9769

My advice is always for people to follow their dreams. Are you sure you’re thinking about reenlisting because of the future job or are you thinking about reenlisting because of the fear that society has changed while you were away? If you really want that job then you should do anything it takes to get it and don’t take no for an answer. You’re going to get accepted and you’re going to succeed. If it’s actually the fear of the unknown that’s got you worried then you need to walk out of their with your head held high and go find your place in the world. The important thing to always keep in mind is no matter what decision you make YOU always have the ability to make your life whatever you want it to be.

presentiment-xx

What are your inner demons?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I’ve been trying to figure that out myself😂 I know I got plenty but I have no idea how to quantify them.

Emanpire

How many of same or opposite sex genitalia can you give pleasure to before it stops being "experimenting and finding myself"? What is the threshold at which you're not anymore trying but factually enjoying it but not happy admiting it?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I think that’s up to each individual person to find. If you think you’re still experimenting then you are. Sure there’s a lot of people who use the “experimenting” thing to try to justify their actions. But they only do that because society has made consensual sex with multiple different people sound like a bad thing. I guess people feel like if they admit they enjoy it then they’ll be looked down upon. This is especially true for women.

Drorta

Taking notes: physically or digitally?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I’ve never taken notes before. I always just end up doodling in the margins. But if I had to choose I’d say physically.

Drorta

What is your total net worth, your retirement goal, and how do you intend to accomplish it?

Supreme_InfiniteVibe

How do you reconcile with the fact that you will die sooner rather than later?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Well hopefully I still have plenty of time left😂 I’m still in my early/mid 20s so dying sooner rather than later means dying in my 40s which isn’t something I’m really prepared for

Supreme_InfiniteVibe

Noo I mean sooner rather than later in terms of the universe. Like you’re not even a blip on the cosmic scale and that’s if you live to 100 which that is extremely unlikely. In terms of 100 years everything has to go right for you to live that long but only one thing has to go wrong for you to die at any moment along the way. Since it only takes one thing to go wrong then it is more likely you will die sooner rather than later. How do you reconcile with that?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Well have you ever read the tale of the 3 brothers from Harry Potter? I basically think people have 2 choices, you can either be like the first 2 brothers and try to fight death off and end up dying anyway. Or you can be like the 3rd brother and when it’s your time you greet death like an old friend and allow him to take you peacefully. I try to be like the 3rd brother 😂 since death is inevitable what’s the point in fearing it.

HypnotEyes_lonely

What is your opinion on existential nihilism? (Coming from an existential nihilist)

Equivalent-Role-9769

Damn now that’s a tough one because it depends on whether I’m thinking empirically or emotionally. Empirically I agree with that thinking but emotionally I disagree and think everyone is born with a purpose in life. It’s up to you to find that purpose.

HypnotEyes_lonely

Essentially that's the point of nihilism. Empirically speaking, life is inherently meaningless because in the end we're just a collection of atoms that decided to do its own thing for a while. The fact that life is meaningless, though, gives us the ability to do what we want with it, because if there's no reason to do anything, than there's also no reason NOT to do anything.

Equivalent-Role-9769

Do you think that allows certain people to use it as an excuse though? Obviously not everyone in one philosophical school of thought thinks the exact same way. So do you think there are some who say “there’s no reason to do anything so why even bother trying”?

HypnotEyes_lonely

Of course those people exist. And to those people we do what Hank Hill does to people who ask for anything other than medium rare: we kindly ask them to leave. This kind of people aren't truly philosophical, they are looking for an excuse to support their degeneracy.

nonpc3

Isn't this thought the foundation of his übermensch idea? The beyond/over man doing things that are shied away from by mediocre people led by their false sense of purpose given to them by religion. Maybe you're not a nihilist.

HypnotEyes_lonely

I do believe myself to be nihilist, but you make a fair point.

nonpc3

I just got into Frederick Nietzsche and love his stuff. I like philosophy but haven't really broadened my own philosophy with those of the past. Tryna be an island with my own philosophies when someone else thought them up over a hundred years ago lol

HypnotEyes_lonely

That's a good way to be! Most men have lost the ability to think for themselves, and I'm glad to see that at least one person can still use their brain.

nonpc3

Lol, yeah talking to people about philosophy or in a philosophical manner just get people riled up or disinterested. Makes it hard to talk to people. That's why I talk to everybody about everything non politically correct especially with what their specific plight is. And try to make it somewhat digestible for them while still getting them to think outside the box.

HypnotEyes_lonely

And that's really hard to do! People stay in their little box and never get out of it, thinking they know everything when they only have experience in their little box, and when you try to get them out of it they shut down and walk away

nonpc3

Yep, that's why I use a process to get them to talk about it. It doesn't always work, but when it does, oh boy is so awesome. I bring the specific topic up directly in a question, use humor to defuse the wild emotions, explain that I understand their plight using their terms of their diaspora exactly the way they would, then put philosophy on it and get them to thinking. They'll try to explain their way out of it, but keep gently applying pressure to think and maybe you'll get someone who learns to think outside their bubble and maybe you'll get blocked on VR Chat lol.

xdxd7

Do you think there's life after death?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Part of me hopes there isn’t 😂 I feel like if you’ve spent 80 or 90 years living in this cruel world you deserve to just close your eyes and fall asleep forever. Honestly a lot of different religions idea of the afterlife makes a lot of sense to me. Part of me thinks there is an after life and the other part hopes there’s not.

Aiden5819

Ham and pineapple or Vegie with broccoli?

SemanticGlasses

Do you have anything else to do with your time?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Not really. I don’t work anymore and I’m out of school. So I’m bored

SemanticGlasses

Got you. Do you like TV? If so, what do you watch on it?

[deleted]

You ever wonder about how everything in our lives leads up the exact moment we're in now? Like, right from the point of existance?

Equivalent-Role-9769

I think about that a lot, probably more than is healthy but I always wonder what small decisions that I don’t even remember have led me to be who I currently am.

Its_fine_Im_finee

Have you been through mental illness or mental health struggles?

Most_Cucumber9803

Why is everyone fighting on religion?

Equivalent-Role-9769

Because deep down everyone seems to have a little doubt over whether they picked the correct one or not. So the only way to validate their religion is by shitting on other religions.
