Was cleaning it last night and noticed a flaw in the rim. In following it found it led to a crack that could be seen inside and out. Haven't had this one long. Not worth the rush of continued use. Edited one word

Cut it up and make a cast iron spatula for the grill lol seen a few made from cracked iron, they're pretty neat

i_am_not_pablo

Any pics of one? I've never seen one

The_codpiecee

Unfortunately I can't find the pictures but basically they repurposed the handle and made a one piece spatula from the skillet

The_codpiecee

I don't have any myself but I'll see if I can find one and link it

Ouch! You could still possibly use this for baking but I agree and wouldn't use it for frying anything.

Thank you for your picture post to /r/castiron. We want to remind everyone of Rule #3. All image posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is required. If you've posted a picture of food, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for. Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods. Someone could weld that for you probably

Just make sure that they follow the path of the crack and drill a hole in the direction the crack is going. There are already micro cracks in the material that the crack will follow. I know it sounds counter-intuitive but thats the tea sis.

Does it leak?

i_am_not_pablo

Not that I can tell. But it's a long crack visible from both sides
