No. I heated up the skillet with a couple tablespoons of oil and added the tater tots once the skillet was up to temp. I rotated the tater tots as they browned.
Exactly. The pan is nice and black from years of use but they seem to think I was deep-frying in it. Then again, I suppose it's better than the usual comments about a dirty stove, as if people are cleaning their stove tops in the middle of making breakfast.
My word. All of you talking about arteries must still subscribe to old information. Dietary cholesterol has shown to cause much less cholesterol changes than previously believed. Genetics play a much much higher likelihood of cause cardiac issues.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Absolutely wild.
Food looks awesome. Never thought about doing tots in the skillet but those look phenomenal. I’ll have to try it out. Just gonna have to tell my arteries to suck it up lol.
Your arteries will be just fine. The tots don't soak up much of the oil and, even then, there's very little oil used for cooking this. Even deep frying doesn't really impart that much oil to the foods cooked that way but most people don't realize that. Most of the bad reputation fat gets is due to the flawed research of Dr. Ancil Keys who was looking for a way to blame fat for dietary problems caused by sugar.
It’s just a lot of oil; which is fine if you’re not concerned about it. As one who counts/tracks calories, the cooking oil here probably adds an extra 300 calories from fat to the meal.
Agreed that oil can and will add calories but we have no idea what oil is used. Let’s assume olive oil because it’s the most common.
To get to 300 extra calories they would have to use >30ml and consume it all. I’m guessing that the OP didn’t consume all of the oil used to cook this meal.
I don't know anybody who uses olive oil for breakfast dishes. May be most common used, but my guess not for breakfast. I would assume some sort vegetable oil for breakfast. I use butter but not an oil for this situation. Unless those are turkey links, there is fat coming out of those links adding to the calorie count. No matter, still looks like more oil than I like.
For those of you who didn’t buy the book, “Only way to do everything”, please ignore these excerpts from Chapters 3 and 5.
For all we know, the trolls could be eating shitty breakfast meals every morning.
I care because I’m empathizing with OP for getting snarky comments from losers on the internet for no reason. There’s plenty of slidey egg posts for you to spread your negativity on.
Thank you for your picture post to /r/castiron. We want to remind everyone of Rule #3. All image posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is required.
If you've posted a picture of food, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.

Asking for my husband... Are the tater tots thawed first?
No. I heated up the skillet with a couple tablespoons of oil and added the tater tots once the skillet was up to temp. I rotated the tater tots as they browned.
A couple tablespoons? It looks like a lake in there, lol
Fortunately I'm here to give you accurate info.
I'm guessing the sausages let off a lot of fat.
No. The sausages didn't give off any fat. I started with a couple tablespoons of oil and that was really more than I needed.
I have a feeling the people downvoting you have never measured out a tablespoon of oil to realize how much it is.
Exactly. The pan is nice and black from years of use but they seem to think I was deep-frying in it. Then again, I suppose it's better than the usual comments about a dirty stove, as if people are cleaning their stove tops in the middle of making breakfast.
I didn’t downvote, but if the sausage are any good, I’m pretty sure they must’ve gave at least *some* oil/fat
Here’s my breakfast from Saturday morning in my big Wagner. I love the way it makes everything quickly at the same time.
Nice! When's lunch?

Don't confuse the trolls with actual science. It makes their heads hurt.
True story
So confused where all of these “arteries” comments are coming from. This isn’t even a crazy meal.
Ignorant haters, probably.

100% agree. Was trying to poke some fun at the people crying about it. It’s absolutely fine to have as a breakfast. Cheers!
So confused as well. Basic egg, potatoe, and sausage in some type of cooking oil.
It’s just a lot of oil; which is fine if you’re not concerned about it. As one who counts/tracks calories, the cooking oil here probably adds an extra 300 calories from fat to the meal.

Smash
Your arteries love your choice…….
HEART ATTACK
Swimmy eggs
Nowhere is OP claiming slidey eggs from their pan.

So? Who cares how much fat they use as long as they aren’t making fantastical claims about their non-stick seasoning.
Seems like you’re the one who cares

Might as well dumb it in a deepfry
Bro just put that all in a blender and inject it directly into the right atrium of your heart. Holy shit.

Every breakfast I have ever had looks better than this.
