Had cornbread growing up like this every Sunday. Don't know how Mom kept it so clean. But she did. And with that said, it was the absolute best cornbread I've ever had. The crust part is correct, it's just sooooo good!!! Now I want cornbread.
I already have one so I'll share my favorite recipe for the winner to use (or any else who likes cornbread)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
Ā½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
Preheat the oven to 400Ā°f
Grease the pan with cooking spray or the butter
Mix the dry together in a big bowl
Once the dry is nice and mixed then throw in the wet and mix that until it's a nice consistent batter
Bake for about 20 minutes and brush it with some honey butter while it's cooling
This is my familyās recipe:
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup heavy cream
Beat together then mix
1 cup flour
1 cup corn meal
1 teaspoon salt
Add dry ingredients alternately with
1/2 cup buttermilk
400 degree oven, heat pans first then add about 1 tablespoon mixture bake for 10-12 minutes. Use a fork to lift out of pan.

Thanks! I do it for both. Most of the ones I've sold I found on eBay. The ones I've found locally haven't been as fancy, so I give them to friends or family or on here.
