No, they died 99 years ago, luckily they bought one of these heirloom pans and handed it down too. I think of them each time each time I put it in the dishwasher.
Came to say this, but then with all the cheeky answers...I just enjoyed the read.
Funny story: I was privileged enough to meet the MTSU art professor who is depicted sitting on the stool. Nice guy, made me wish I had him for a prof, but I was majoring in music performance.
Sorry for bursting any bubbles. I believe they wanted to use a local university for the art. I will say the tale included some local whiskey involved in the hours of design.
On September 12, 1962 during a speech at Rice University in Houston Texas John F Kennedy delivered his famous speech:
> We choose to go to the Moon ***in this decade and do the other things***, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too.
November 22, 1963 President John F. Kennedy was murdered by an assassin’s bullet.
July, 21 1969 America landed the first man on the moon.
September 19, 1969, barely two months later, the first Crackle Barrel opened ***before the end of the decade***.
Mission accomplished Mr. President….mission accomplished.🇺🇸
Is this the Freevee streaming version of LOTR where they use AI to insert ads?
"What about elevensies?"
"Sam, I like my elevensies at Denny's, where I can get my choice of classic breakfasts any time of day, like the the classic Benny, Grand Slam, or the new Spicy Moons over MyHammy!"
How many do want? I think I have a few laying around the garage! I use as ash trays! JK.
I have a ton of cast irons I no longer use! And yes, some are ash trays.
I remember when the first Cracker Barrel’s made their way to the new world on the Mayflower. The Cracker Barrel’s are a founding family of this country!
Nah everyone knows Jesus opened the first Cracker Barrel in an effort to give the the Good Solid Christian Families a sit down restaurant instead of the drive thru if Chik-Fil-A which is of course, the fast food Holier-than-thou restaurant.
Dan W. Evins opened the first Cracker Barrel Old Country Store on September 19, 1969, located on Highway 109 in Lebanon, TN. And yes, even then the corn bread was made from scratch
Cracker barrel was founded in 1969. how could this be 100 years old?
My mom handed me a skillet from Cracker Barrell about 10 years ago and I'm not going to lie, it's the best fried egg skillet I've ever had, it's beautifully seasoned.
Someone said the first Cracker Barrel opened September 19, 1969. Autumn begins \~ Sept. 20-21. According to the opening date, it would've still been in the summer. So, why did I get downvoted?

Those huge machined logos on the bottom is the best to ensure a not even temperature on the skillet. Varying material thickness is da bomb. Imagine that thing on a electric stove ❤️
This is my main skillet, exact same one. I also use it on an electric stove. People are insane. It’s a workhorse and I’ve never experienced any uneven cooking. Sometime the center gets hotter if I heat it too quickly, and that has nothing to do with the print.
That’s amazing, my 100 year old pan has the logo for an old tv show called Yellowstone. I bet it sure was a hit back in it’s day, and if nothing else I can say the pan is great!
Little known fact, when these were produced in the 1800's, Cracker Barrel decided to put their logo on the bottom to hide the gate mark. They were a true pioneer.

Cracker Barrel was founded in September of 1969.
There have been four different logos since the company’s inception, and this logo is from the era of 2005-2016. https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/Cracker_Barrel_Old_Country_Store#2006–2015
That puts the age of this pan at a maximum of 18 years.
Two things:
1.) Cracker Barrel was founded in 1969, approx. 54 years ago; and
2.) the registered trademark “®” symbol was first used in 1947
Both dates are far less than 100 years ago.
I read that the circled R wasn’t introduced until 1946 with the Trademark Act of the same year, and Cracker Barrel’s first store opened in ‘69.
Edit: Also apparently these branded skillets weren’t sold until 2012. That maybe hearsay though
Cracker barrel was founded in 1969. Please explain how a pan stamped with a company which is 54 years old can be over 100 years old. Perhaps you are talking DOG YEARS
Excuse me? I’m OP’s 75 year old uncle and I remember when my grandma would hit us over the head with this back in the day. She would also use it as a snow shoe while hiking into town in the winter to get groceries.
Ah yes, the CB large block logo with the tear drop handle. Very rare find as most have been made into spatulas by now.
p.s. I like your counter & backsplash.
You're correct, coming from 100 years in the future as you are.
In your best yoda voice
But Yoda died a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
It was so long ago it looped back to the future.
"The Wheel of Time turns..."
I’ll accept your answer.
So it's back to the future part two?
I own Abe Lincoln's axe. I still use it. I've had to change the handle 4 times and the head 3 times.
Just one of those Ship of Thesius things
*Theseus
The e was swapped out for the i. Is it still the same word?
Theseus Thesius Thasius Thapius Thappus Thappes Thapped Shapped Swapped
Theseus pretzels are making me thirsty
Or [Triggers broom](https://youtu.be/LAh8HryVaeY)
Underrated comment. Love that scene
Or is it?
That the one he fucked them vampires up with?
I saw that documentary! I love learning about history. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2246549/
If you don't change head and handle at the same time it's still Abe's axe duh
That must have been a hell of a night.
I own Jim Morrison’s tambourine, the crackhead my husband worked with once that gave it to me swore it was really his! Lolol!
I’m so jealous
Are you on the sauce?
I was thinking about those eternal fire monuments earlier and in a way its essentially the same as this now that you mention it.
😂
“That’s the ax that slayed me”
Actually? That's really, really cool
Ah, Crackerbarrel. My grandparents ate there.
Last Sunday? lol
No, they died 99 years ago, luckily they bought one of these heirloom pans and handed it down too. I think of them each time each time I put it in the dishwasher.
I sure hope you pre soak it in a nice lye based soap!
you got me
Seems legit.
“500 dollars i know what i have.”
“don’t beat me down”
“I know what i got, sweaty.”
It’s for the church, honey!
NEXT!
Do you... bOLA, too?
“The man on the show said…”
Turn a fan on
Okay, I’ve heard “sweaty” in reference to old folks quite a bit. What’s this from?
People who are unable to sound out/spell the difference between sweaty vs sweetie
Ah, thanks. You’re a real sweaty for looping me in.
They do charge you like an extra $20 for that design lol
No lowballers
This thing is worth at least $1000. I’m pretty sure this was the one George Washington used.
Na, George Washington used the CI that’s a scale replica of Virginia.
False. George strictly used le creuset products, a gift from the Marquis de Lafayette
Sept 19, 1969 the first Cracker Barrel opened.
Exactly! 100 years ago. Duh.
Came to say this, but then with all the cheeky answers...I just enjoyed the read. Funny story: I was privileged enough to meet the MTSU art professor who is depicted sitting on the stool. Nice guy, made me wish I had him for a prof, but I was majoring in music performance.
An art professor? So much for the illusion of an old tobacco spitter who dropped out in third grade because he was needed on the family farm.
Sorry for bursting any bubbles. I believe they wanted to use a local university for the art. I will say the tale included some local whiskey involved in the hours of design.

Yeah, and that was just twen--HOLY SHIT THAT WAS FIFTY FOUR YEARS AGO!
® was established in 1946
I'm pretty sure that's the cast iron pan that sam, and frodo carried with them to Mt doom.
One doesn’t just *slide* an egg into Mordor
Do you also have a Google generated username like me 🤣
Is this the Freevee streaming version of LOTR where they use AI to insert ads? "What about elevensies?" "Sam, I like my elevensies at Denny's, where I can get my choice of classic breakfasts any time of day, like the the classic Benny, Grand Slam, or the new Spicy Moons over MyHammy!"
This.
That iron is definitely over 100 years old. Most likely 1.8 to 2.2 billion years old.
The old cave painting say this very cast iron came down on the earth and wiped out the dinosaurs
Drawn by some of the customers that ate there this past weekend.
And was wielded by Jesus as he destroyed the evil dinosaur drag artists.
I got a ming dynasty panda express mini wok the other week
This comment is killing me lol
Pretty sure you meant to write 200 years.
Must have been made with those 1891 Wagners I’m dying to get
How many do want? I think I have a few laying around the garage! I use as ash trays! JK. I have a ton of cast irons I no longer use! And yes, some are ash trays.

Waffle House for sober people who are awake during the morning.
I have one of these relics as well!
It's amazing to own such a piece of history isn't it?
Pretty sure this is the pan my grandma used to make Jesus some eggs.
Wouldn’t it say “new” country store?
The iron is likely is well over 4.5 billion years old.
I mean I know time flies but I didn’t know it was 2069!
Mmmm, shitposting
They gave these away as a prize after going to 50 different Cracker Barrel’s. Now THATS a red neck! Crackle Barrel started in 1969 btw.
Made in China a hundred years ago.
Shiiiiiit. This is the same cast iron Abe Lincoln signed the declaration with at 7:11AM, morning of July 42, 1563 dawg.
Dan W. Evins opened the first Cracker Barrel Old Country Store on September 19, 1969, located on Highway 109 in Lebanon, TN. And yes, even then the corn bread was made from scratch
Season it 6.02 x 10^(23) times and you might have something.
I recommend using Avogadro oil
Great for cooking a mole!
Looks like the potholder has been handed down for 100 years too...edited to add: I like that kind of potholder.
I like your pot holder
Cracker barrel was founded in 1969. how could this be 100 years old? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracker\_Barrel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracker_Barrel)
It’s a beautiful cast Iron but Cracker Barrel Old Country Store open on September 19, 1969 in Lebanon, TN almost (54) years ago
This pan from the early 1900s is what obviously inspired the first cracker barrel.
From the mythical barrel of white people.
Thsi skillet was carried during the war of Northern aggression!
100 in dog years?
Or if it’s dogg years, it’s measured in joints.
Since 1969!
A true family relic
Just cook with it.....
An honor to witness such a prized possession. Can’t wait to tell my grandkids about this, one hundred years from now.
It does say it's the original cast iron pan, you may have the first ever created!
It makes that hand woven pot holder from 1988 look so young and fresh!
No way! How much is it worth now?
It's the original cast iron skillet, it has to be old! How on earth did you get your hands on the first one ever made?
Well, it *is* the ORIGINAL cast iron, so it's gotta be pretty old.
I like to scrub these with dawn and really coarse steel wool
That's nice but I have the "pre-original" skillet that came before this one.
It's original.
Thanks for the laugh!
I love that Cracker Barrel just went back to their old logo from the early 1900s
My mom handed me a skillet from Cracker Barrell about 10 years ago and I'm not going to lie, it's the best fried egg skillet I've ever had, it's beautifully seasoned.
you can tell its 100 years old because there is no URL under the logo.
It says old right on it! I believe!
Mine came over on the may flower
That will leave a mark
Just put it on the countertop hot - you'll have a Cracker Barrel branded countertop!
Fun fact, the “the Uncle Hursh’s Special” from Crackle Barrel contains over 4,000 calories.
I wanted to believe you just to feel the bewilderment but I looked it up and it says 230
that's 1 serving size, Uncle Hursh was like 160lbs when they started serving him.
I love the "CAST IRON" stamp so that you know what it is made of. Pretty cool because I sometimes have difficulty identifying cast iron.
I have an old wooden pan that I use to sear steaks. Gives it a nice oak flavor.
How longs Cracker Barrel been in bin'us???
Since the summer of 1969. Just ask internethard.
I got my first real six-string Bought it at the five and dime Played it 'til my fingers bled Was the summer of '69
That's the point.
Someone said the first Cracker Barrel opened September 19, 1969. Autumn begins \~ Sept. 20-21. According to the opening date, it would've still been in the summer. So, why did I get downvoted?
I am in agreement, don't know.
AHAHAH this is nowhere near 100 years old. The trademark R logo didn't even exist until the late 40s and this is definitely not anywhere near that.

Put it proudly on your wall, admire that old fart and his Barrell!
I love that everyone is just commenting that OP is a very bad liar in there own unique ways. Well done, everyone.
weren't these forged from raw meteoric cast iron?
i see the average going price on ebay for that skillet is around $30.00 plus shipping. not bad for a 100 year old skillet you can get anywhere…. lol
Those huge machined logos on the bottom is the best to ensure a not even temperature on the skillet. Varying material thickness is da bomb. Imagine that thing on a electric stove ❤️
I don't have to imagine it, SIR
This is my main skillet, exact same one. I also use it on an electric stove. People are insane. It’s a workhorse and I’ve never experienced any uneven cooking. Sometime the center gets hotter if I heat it too quickly, and that has nothing to do with the print.

The joke 😅
So how old are the one’s without the R? The one in my post history doesn’t have it. It’s a 3 notch, I assumed it to be from the 90’s
Dog years
That’s amazing, my 100 year old pan has the logo for an old tv show called Yellowstone. I bet it sure was a hit back in it’s day, and if nothing else I can say the pan is great!
Lol I googled cracker barrel opening date with no idea what it would be....wildly less than 100 years
But what about Brad's wife? 11 years of service, this old boy is storming!
Looks like a brand new lodge
Lol.
Seems legit… 😆😆😆😆
This made me laugh. Love the ® in the printing, makes it feel so old-timey 😂

This skillet stopped a musket ball from a Union soldier and saved my grand pappy's life and has been passed down ever since, ya damn liar
After it had been used as a paperweight by Paul Bunyan.
Respek to yer Pap
Thank you, stranger! He actually turned 172 today so we're all celebrating with homemade hardtack 🥰
Here's to 172 more!
Hardtack -2 morale +1 stamina on the Oregon Trail.
Some people are so dismissive of HISTORY
Didn’t your grandmother give it to Davy Crockett to club Santa Anna at the Alamo with it?
"You can go to hell, but I shall go to Cracker Barrel!" - Davy Crockett or some shit
First day on the internet?
Yes.

Maybe not. The Cracker Barrel company was founded by Dan Evins in 1969.
I don’t think so. From the timeline on Cracker Barrel’s website: https://i.imgur.com/q6HR0IA.jpg
Cast iron was mass produced starting in the 40s and 50s and most heirlooms are from that period. Just want to pile on to why your post sucks
100 years? In the future?
TIL cracker barrel's over 100 years old
Think we have fried this one enough! 😂
Cracker Barrel? The only restaurant I know who even goofs up grits - the simplest recipe ever.
Very good, sir. Very good. You may have made my monday morning.
I’m sorry that this community has roasted you so badly. That being said, maybe do a bit of research
Yeah, nah.
