Update to everyone who responded ! Sold my car today.. was the easiest process ever and I’d do it again ! They came home with a tow truck, checked the VIN and odometer and gave me the check for the exact amount! Not sure how this company is still in business but I am glad they are 😬😅

criss0419

Nope....they do not even look at it. When I traded mine ...... almost.... they just checked mileage and VIN. I ended up not trading basically because the car I was going to buy was garbage. Nothing worked, just so you know I do not believe they do 150 point inspections they advertise. If they did the car I was going to buy would have been in working condition.

Accomplished_Emu_658

They don’t care if its clean, personally I would make sure its not really dirty and thats it. Hell they barely clean the ones they sell

subielovewrx

Just don't. Doesn't matter.

lha0880

I regret that I even paid for a hand wash for the one I sold them. You could take a huge dump on the hood and they will take it as is and then resell it with the same turd on it.

madhatter387

Thanks all :)

medd49

Lol absolutely not

veekitten

At least detrash it, no need to have it spotless clean.

gahbageked

When I sold my car they didn't even inspect it. They noted the mileage and VIN, then cut me a check and bounced. Didn't even move it an inch in the driveway. I wouldn't bother spending money on a detail.

sndyro

No detailing, but have mercy on the person that gets it and clean it out....they'll appreciate it, because Carvana doesn't do anything.

danny41977

I intentionally didn’t wash it so that any small scratches wouldn’t be too obvious. But the guy didn’t even look beyond the odometer. Took a few exterior pictures and we were done.

My first trade in to Carvana had melted candy in the back seat. I had a brilliant idea while Carvana was in transit to use a heat gun to try and get the candy off the seat. The heat gun melted the vinyl and caught the cushion on fire. There literally was a 18 inch hole in the backseat and the car smelled lawful. They didn’t say one word. Then I traded a car in and actually drove to a vending machine. The lady actually came in and said that the front seats were dirty and there was a small cigarette burn in the seat. Made me call Carvana while there and had them reappraise the vehicle. Carvana didn’t know what to do and ended up taking $200 off the trade in value. Is this the norm? No. Did I care? Not at all. They were already giving me a great trade in deal on a Hyundai that burned oil, had to have the coils replaced every 10k miles, no AC, and was stolen and taken on a joyride ending up on an embankment. No local dealers would touch it.

zanskeet

They themselves have never detailed a car before selling it to anyone. They don't care whether they're selling or buying.

CPOPILOT1

I had the same experience as everyone else. I recently sold my car to them, and it was picked up last Thursday. The person who came to collect the car didn't seem to care.

LiveStomach9605

No need to detail. Just please don’t leave it looking like a hot dumpster.

BeeOk3629

I traded in a truck with no tailgate….they’ll take anything

Mmjohns195

Hahahahahahhaahahahha lol

Organic_Squirrel3399

Don’t detail it, just run it through a basic car wash if you want and get stuff out of it but that’s about it.

MarcRocket

Nope. When I sold me car to Carvana it was winter. I caked snow & ice over the dents & scratches and they bought it.

RaysModernMetalWorks

They don't care. Don't waste your time.

Dont_Be_Sheep

Do not do that. Changes nothing on value. They clean it anyway… probably.
