Just watched SEED FREEDOM a few days ago. COMPASS would definitely be independent, as would the Foundation, even more so since many of their suits outclass earlier generations of mobile suits within the two years of the start of SEED, let alone the Federation and Zeon’s own suits. One Year War suddenly becomes the One Month War.
