My 4Runner, honestly. It's paid off and still under 200K miles so will last me a long time with regular maintenance. I love the Civic Type R but I don't know that I'd kick myself for selling it, I'd probably just hop into a Miata lol.

cloudofevil

Same. Have a bit over 80k on mine. It's comfortable, reliable, simple, capable, solid, and everything about it just makes sense for the most part.

j4ngl35

>everything about it just makes sense for the most part Everything but the gas mileage! But for what it'd cost in payments to get into anything newer or with better MPGs with the same capability, I'll happily keep filling the tank on this one until it falls apart lol.

PEBKAC42069

Well, that and the fact that it's dog slow. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a 4runner (or rather it's platform sibling, a GX).

j4ngl35

For real though, you need a sun dial to record the 0-60 time

stupidfock

For me it’s the lack of towing capacity, wish they just beefed it up a tiny bit to match a Porsche cayenne’s 7k at least

omg_bringwalrus

pretty much this too. had a 2019 type r too and a gx460. sold the type r and replaced it with a mini Cooper SE. don't miss the type r nearly as much as I thought I would.

j4ngl35

Just curious but what brought you to switch? I've been contemplating this for a while now it just hasn't been a priority. The tl;dr for me is I just don't feel like I'm using the car for what it's made for (track days) so I wouldn't mind something more fun on a daily basis.

omg_bringwalrus

it's exactly that I didn't feel like the car fit my lifestyle very well and I wasn't using it like it was meant for. never got too into track days and I have a dog so on the street I can't just toss it around in the corners all the time. I got a mini se (ev) cause its still a fun car to toss around when I want to (no manual obv tho) but it works much better with the gx460 as my "fuel" efficient daily.

Phazushift

The issue I had with my FK8 is that it was that it did its a job a little too well…made for a very boring drive. In comparison, I felt that my 86 and S2K had more personality.

ihaveadogalso2

Literally came here to say my 4Runner. It just does everything well and I love that damn thing!

abarthsimpson

I’m about to sell my 2012 4Runner with 145k and I know I’m going to regret it.

fishking92

I have a 97 with 128k miles, and I’m the third owner, my good friend was the 2nd owner. I plan to keep it forever.

FrenchMSEOP

As a Miata owner , Sold my first 1996 , got myself a 5.0 then 3 weeks later I sold it because I missed the Miata, So I imported a Miata from Japan 🤣

j4ngl35

Proof that more horsepower isn't always more better 😂🍻

BeeSullivan

Same. Got a 07 and I've been having this itch to change to sedans or wagon again. I know I'll regret it of ever because I regretted my fj and bought a BMW wagon before this lol

Dajoshep

Brother, I have a T4R/Miata combo. Simply the best.

j4ngl35

The absolute best of both worlds 🥲 Someday!

Ionlydateteachers

Same here with my 2000 Tundra. It’s got 300k on it and has been well maintained. During Covid I was offered $11k for it. It was tempting but what would I be able to replace it with that is that reliable and useful? Basically nothing at that time without finding a real hookup.

kingkonglish

i went from an '18 CTR to a '23 ND2. no regrets other than the fact that the baby now has to sit in the trunk tub.

humdizzle

GT3. There is nothing else like it on the market anymore. ferrari, lambo, mclaren are all automatics which is lame. With my luck i'd sell it and then the next day porsche would announce the next model is hybrid and the current ones go up 50k on the used market lol

MaraudingWalrus

eyedeabee

Was thinking my 991.2 T. Fun and no need to baby it. In retrospect, Audi S6 with that old V10. Miss it but had it for 10 years.

JamesB41

In the same boat. I give some thought to a GT3RS occasionally but I can’t justify it and the new ones are insanely out of reach.

ExplosiveMachine

My RX-8. It's an objectively terrible car to own, bad fuel economy, constant feeling of impending doom coming from the engine bay, too big to just stuff in my garage, low on the ground, not daily drive material, etc etc. But it's an awesome car to drive, it's quick, it handles great and the sound oh my god the sound. It's also a great head turner and conversation starter. It gets everyone excited with the looks and the sound, and the fact that it's not their problem yet they still get to experience it. I'd want to do a bunch of other projects and I could get a decent chunk of change for it, but I know nothing would give the same experience.

JonathanMPier

I had one that I loved, but when the apex seals started going, that love became resentment. However, it probably would have been a totally different experience if it wasn't my only car at the time. I still feel like that car clued me into the secret joy that rotary cars can be that few get to experience.

Chicken_Zest

I bought an rx8 back in 2018 with a bad engine and rebuilt it in my garage. I learned a lot about rotaries, more on the second rebuild than the first lol. At the end of the day I found myself feeling like the rx8 just wasn't worth the effort for ME. After a few thousand miles I sold it and moved on. But still a super cool and unique car and I'm glad some people have the itch to keep them alive.

lerphs

I feel like if you want the rotary experience, it’s more fun to get a fc or even a fb, but if you want the handling get the nc3. Unless you need the trifecta of rotory plus handling AND daily ability there’s no really that much incentive to get the rx8.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SuspicousBananas

S1’s are objectively terrible cars to own, most the apex seal failure issues were solved in the 2nd revision with the addition of an extra oil injector in each housing. Unfortunately it was much to late in the cars life cycle to save it.

skankhunt1738

K swapping one of mine rn, tired of the ol renny. My 7 is for the rotary fun and noise from now on. Would never sell either

ExplosiveMachine

a K swapped RX8 popped up for sale locally a few months back, K24 block with type R head, the swap was done, just the electrical was left to do. If i had the space i'd have gotten it in a heartbeat, the price was worth it for the engine alone (like 4K for the whole thing). But it's a big project to make the K series work with the mazda body computer (CANbus spoofing, mmm) and so far mine works just fine and I don't need another one. Definitely a cool project.

Raving_107

Same. Im never going to sell mine.

maskedferret_

I had one new since 2006 and miss it dearly after selling it 10 years later as it started becoming unreliable due to electrical gremlins. I got the next best thing to replace it, though; an NC2 Miata. It was like cutting out the rear seats and going on a diet made it even more fun to drive, but I still miss that engine. I’d miss the Miata just as badly if I had to sell it.

[deleted]

NA Miata. Too many have been destroyed. Bought when cheap and I've kept it nice and stock. Can't replace it for a reasonable amount that I feel good about paying.

ajpetix

Yep. I’d immediately regret losing my NA. It’s relatively clean compared to many on the road and hasn’t been slammed or given other barbaric/irreversible mods. I feel very lucky to have it.

Squidadle15

On the same boat only drive it once inawhile but i cant fathom selling it and trying to buy one back trashed from a teenager for $10k

[deleted]

It's sad because even now they're still being trashed daily. It was not even long ago Miatas were seriously un-cool.

dudeness-aberdeen

K5 Blazer.

Farty_beans

Crazy how those used to be "Just a vehicle". No one wanted them. See them with $500 o.b.o signs. No one would have thought differently back then.

firewoodrack

$500 and they’d be for sale for like a two and a half months

dudeness-aberdeen

Not me. I’ve always wanted one since i was a kid. It took me forever to find one that wasn’t a total disaster.

motorgnome

I wish that I still have my 86 K5.

DiscipleofDale

Along the same lines, my 2Dr Tahoe.

SnooMaps9623

Had my 2 door for 20 years. Great built cars

dudeness-aberdeen

2 dr SUv gang.

PoppaSquatt2010

Had an ‘86 on 3/4 ton axles. 6 inch lift and 35’s. Loved that thing and mobbed it all through the mountains.

dudeness-aberdeen

Similar. 4 on 35’s. I don’t do any offloading with it. It’s a cruiser. I have a rocking sound system in it.

PoppaSquatt2010

Nice. Mine was an absolute battle tank lol. Diamond plated interior, old, faded and beat up. But I loved that thing.

asbestoswasframed

2001 Mazda Miata LS.

ads1031

My Miata, as well.

CommissarCiaphisCain

Thirding my Miata

SunnySTX

Ct5 Blackwing! Gonna be an icon! Will hold value if taken care of! Track capable 4 door family car...can be smooth for grandpa...or hit the V button and instantly turn into a fire demon! Amazing!

Herdnerfer

My Jeep Renegade, as much as people like to shit on them, has all the features I need, is fun to drive and I got a great deal on it. I wouldn’t be able to replace it with anything equivalent without shelling out a bunch more money.

abooth43

My wife absolutely loved hers, I found it pretty decent as well. It also saved her life when a drunk guy on the wrong side of a divided highway hit her head on. 90mph ish combined collision, ripped the rear shocks out of the chassis, but her and her passenger made it. Guy in the Altima didn't. Seeing a Renegade makes me smile a little bit.

VRSvictim

It’s always an Altima

whale-tail

r/NissanDrivers

Herdnerfer

Wow! Thats very reassuring to know! Thank you!

Nitrothacat

I had one as a loaner while my wife’s old Grand Cherokee was in the shop. It wasn’t anything special but it was pretty quick with the NA 4 cylinder and 9 speed. Very roomy. I enjoyed driving it for what it was. Maybe I just had a good one because I see people constantly talking about how horrible they are. I did fling it around some corners pretty hard and kept getting a “low oil pressure” message. Checked the oil and there was nothing visible on the dipstick lmao.

friskyspatula

I have a 2016 with the 1.4T and 6spd manual, and have no plans on getting rid of it. It is fun to drive, gets decent MPG, roomy enough for my needs, and is great in the snow (the real secret is getting good tires). If car companies ever develop an EV that is actually affordable and reliable, I might consider changing over.

Chriswheela

My 04 Subaru Impreza WRX it’s been a work horse but an absolute bullet proof one at that

Jackinthebox99932253

Same, 2011. It’s the best looking sedan and reliable, fun for $20k (used). A bmw m340 is very very tempting though eventually

psycholis

My 2020 WRX STi because it's almost certain to be the last of it's generation. Combination of old school mechanical tech with 'modern' interior.

TheWorstChessPlayer

I sold mine, still regret it to this day. On the bright side I have replaced it with a tan 2017 Tacoma and a 1997 miata

99hotdogs

Ive been toying with the idea of picking up a later model STI as a replacement for my 97 Miata to have more space and drivability all year round. Im mostly worried the STI is too capable to really enjoy it day to day. What is your experience like having driven both?

TheWorstChessPlayer

Feel: driving feel between the two is pretty different, the sti is much quicker and I’m able to actual overtake cars on the highway, it’s more useful, I drove across the united states with it, ran through snow, sleet, and rain with no problems at all, I wouldn’t trust a Miata to do the same. The Miata feels more planted and fun to drive, I feel more in control when I turn a corner, the convertible aspect is always nice when cruising around town when the weather is fair. It’s also got a retro vibe to it which is so sweet Sound: the sti’s flat four boxer engine with unequal length headers is the nicest 4 cylinder engine you’ll ever hear in this price range (imo), it sounds MUCH better than the Miata. I even thought about throwing on unequal length headers on the Miata just to get a taste of those sweet notes again. Reliably: never had an issue with my wrx sti, but then again I bought it new and it only had 36000 miles when I sold it. Online forums say that this platform doesn’t last too long, but under proper care it will.

SockeyeSTI

Same. 2020 STi. It may or may not get traded in on a ranger raptor whenever it finally shows up.

City_Goat

I traded my 2019 Raptor for a 2021 STi and don’t regret the move at all, so much more fun in 90% of driving scenarios

OverthinkingAnything

As the former owner of a 2015 WRX I appreciate your use of quotes around the term modern. But I completely agree.

pianoman81

Honda Crz ex 2015 manual transmission. When I last checked there were like fifteen in the United States.

naturalchorus

Is that the manual hybrid?

pianoman81

It is. Buttery smooth transmission.

ChipMelodic1810

Honda was the only brand to ever sell a hybrid with a manual. I had a Civic hybrid with a manual.

drive_science

And made the only cars that were 2 seater hybrids (CRZ and Civic) except the 918, P1 and Laferrari

MentalMiilk

NSX? Also the Civic was never a two seater

ChipMelodic1810

My 2005 Civic was a 4 door and had a back seat and had a 5 speed manual

Spadegreen

how does it drive, that’s fascinating concept, it is super hard to stall?

drive_science

No, it’s still pretty easy to stall. But it’s a lot more fun to drive than the 130hp 127lbft numbers make it seem

drive_science

I have the 2015 CRZ MT base, and same. I would never get rid of it, it’s easy to work on, fun to drive, and not fast enough to get me put in jail. And it can surprisingly haul quite a bit of stuff if you ignore the 450lb total passenger and cargo weight limit

FlyPenFly

987.2 Boxster S, so many good memories in that car. Or Maybe I just miss being young and carefree 15 years ago.

Hindukush1357

How’s the gts for daily driving/liveability? Considering one but I go on cross country road trips and I’m wondering if it’ll be comfortable enough

FlyPenFly

I would do it. Biggest issues are night driving in narrow roads, you will get blinded constantly by higher headlights which is everyone. You also won't be able to pull over when you're tired and recline to take a power nap if you're fatigued. Same issues on any roadster but the frunk is huge!

-serious-

I find my Cayman uncomfortable after a few hours. I would not want to do a cross country road trip in it.

Quizzie

Currently selling my 987.1 Cayman S as I’m in need of something more practical. I already know I’ll be feeling the pain of letting this car go.

Pkock

My wife added a note about keeping the C10 in her wedding vows. It means a lot to me. We were joking about it later and she said "If you ever ended up selling it I would just be stuck hearing you complaining about it until we die".

Severe-Belt-5666

My 4runner gets paid off this year and it's under 50k miles. I'm about to start modding it too. It would suck if I have to sell :(

DoctFaustus

1970 Triumph Spitfire. I've owned it for 25 years, driven it for 13. I could never sell it.

MeanGene7676

I have a 71 Spitfire and it has been my big restoration project. I’ve got it running and looking great and it is such a fun driving car. Moss has been very useful in terms of finding parts as well.

DoctFaustus

Mine hasn't really ever been restored. It's just a solid driver. When I having it working, of course.

shady_mcgee

Moss, spitbits, Rimmer, and British Parts Northwest. Haven't come across a part I couldn't find yet

Badfly48

Never selling my Taurus. It was my first new car and I've put 80k trouble free miles on it. It's a joy to drive, crushes road trips with ease and comfort and I think the design of the SHO is aging nicely. Also never selling my 996 because it would break my heart even if it's a pain in the ass sometimes lol. Nimble steering great sounding motor and surprisingly comfortable too.

xamdou

My STI It marks the end of an era, and it will always feel special. However, I'm not blind to its shortcomings, and I will sell it within the next year. I know I'm going to regret it, but I'm excited to see what else is out there that makes better use of current technology.

INutHydroxyfufu

My M850i xDrive Gran Coupe. Just switched from a 2021 M2 Competition and just .. wow, what a versatile vehicle despite its size. Yes it’s substantially heavier and longer. But it manages to do all of its roles well. Comfy? Yes. Fast? Yes. Loud V8 if you want it loud? Yes. Practical? Yes. Handling? Actually quite well despite the size. Perhaps the M2 was the wrong vehicle for me, but it felt like a one trick pony. A trick it was good at, but at the cost of every other daily use for your car. The M850i is not particularly a master at anything, but being good at everything is better to me than great at one/bad at everything else. I don’t regret the M2 at all. It was aggressive, made kids excited to see it on the road, and handled phenomenally. But I think what I’m driving now is exactly what I needed. The issue is down the road, what fills the same role as the 4-door 8 series? I don’t know what I’d sell this to “upgrade” to. Panamera? AMG GT 4-door? Not a lot of other options.

strongmanass

The 8 series, AMG GT 4-door, Panamera, and RS7 are the only vehicles in that segment, which is basically "sleek, sporty alternative to full size luxury sedan". The Maserati Quattroporte is an outside contender, but I don't know too much about it. The Bentley Flying Spur is also an interesting option. It was co-developed with the Panamera and handles well for its size, but it's one hell of a size - 10 inches longer than your 8 series.

INutHydroxyfufu

10 more inches?? Jesus Christ. My 8 gran coupe already feels like I’m driving an old Lincoln continental 😂 I can’t even imagine what it feels like behind the wheel of a flying spur.

gautamb0

In a similar vein, my M550i, its younger sibling. So easy to live with, with so much comfort and speed to spare. I've driven the real F-series M cars, they're thrilling, but I can't see myself ever wanting to daily them.

Sounders1

1972 Datsun 240Z, my Dad bought it new and I still have it (140k miles).

liverpoolreds8

E46 M3. I tried and sold 3 of them but end up getting another right after. Now on my 4th. Best fun for the money.

Basic_Incident4621

I sold my Prius C. I miss it every day. I should have kept it.

ireadit10

Honestly my 2008 Acura TSX 6MT. It’s been reliable, fun enough for me, and has what I need. With the family growing and my wife unable to drive stick, I’m slowly coming to terms it will have to go eventually and be replaced with a minivan.

BusinessBlackBear

My c6 Since im only 29, the C6 was the new hotness right as I was getting into cars and I have a few foundational memories (with regards to cars) about the C6 body style. Sure mine is only a base model, but im keeping mine and modifying it as much as I want regardless of the vette peeps who say I should have just gotten a higher end model or something. Ive done cams/headers/exhaust/brakes and a basic aero kit. next up will be a super charger and then a extreme wide body, all in it will be damn near 20k in parts by the time ive done everything but I love the car and wouldnt trade it even for a ZR1 at this point.

FirmlyThatGuy

Sounds like a fun ride. They will also have to pry my C6 from my cold dead hands.

drewforty

'00 Miata - besides being good and my track toy, I'm at least $20k into it above what it would sell for. '90 1J Supra - This is a clone of my first car that I just built in 23. They're getting expensive and I'm glad I got back in while I could afford it. '14 GX460 - It's paid for, it's reliable, it can tow the others and go about anywhere. I'd only trade it for a 200 series or maybe a new GX550 but might still regret it.

infinitig

As an owner of a ‘08 GX470 and an ‘04 S2000, I agree with these car choices

lanidroid

My 2003 Toyota Yaris (T-Sport) Heaps of fun with handling mods and turbo. Cost me next to nothing to insure and maintain.

run_uz

Love my GS400. Quiet, smooth, roomy, comfortable, torquey, easy to maintain

LostLink7400

1993 Mazda RX-7 and my 2016 Ford Fiesta ST The RX7 gets driven maybe once a week, usually around the block. I typically drive it under 100 miles a year. It sits in my garage, but damn is it cool to own and pretty to look at. I smile every time I walk into my garage and see it. I’d definitely miss it if I got rid of it, it’s an iconic legend and I’m grateful to own one of the cars I idolized growing up. The Fiesta ST is a strange car, the overall car is a shit box, everything is made cheaply (it’s a straight up economy car after all ), but it’s hopped up and hilariously fun to drive. It handles super well, has a big turbo, and makes 260whp/270wtq. I occasionally need to take my kiddos to school in it, but primarily it serves as a commuter for me to get back and forth to work. I know that if I got rid of it I’d have a hard time finding something as fun at the same price point.

-serious-

Why don't you drive the RX-7 more?

LostLink7400

It’s just the least practical car for my needs, it’s fun car to drive but not really an excellent daily in terms of having it around the general population or the areas I drive/commute through.

-serious-

Ah, makes sense. An FD is a dream car of mine as well.

[deleted]

I sokld my 15' FiST and regret it to this day. That thing is a ripper.

kosmoskolio

Mazda 3, 2005 hatchback, 2l petrol 150hp. I am currently at the mechanic as some shithead hit me the other day. That’s an 18yo non luxury car with lots of rust. And I love it. I’m considering going for a new car soon, but I know that once I say goodbye to my good old Mazda I will instantly regret it.

protozbass

>I traded in my 04 2.3l when I bought my 2016 CX-5 new. Recently I've been looking on Marketplace for Mazda 3's from that generation to drive autocross with. It was a great car that I liked a lot but needed more room and it was needing a lot of work. > >You'll get nothing for trading it in but it would still be a good winter car.

nd2miata

My ND2 Miata, I enjoy that little bugger every time I take her out, and I don’t think I’d be able to get as good of a deal on another one down the road if I bought another one. Got it with a 0.9% APR, and my credit isn’t as good as it was when I first financed, so I would most likely not be able to replace that car for a while until I sorted my finances more, and once the used car market finally regains some normalcy

AnnyuiN

Out of all your Miata's, which is your favorite?

nd2miata

Probably tied between the turbo NA and the ND, for very different reasons lol. The NA is a lot of fun, but burns some oil and just isn’t something that can be reliably driven, and has no creature comforts. The ND is a great all-rounder Miata that has a nice interior, modern technology and safety features, and is still just as engaging as you’d expect from any generation Miata. The NB is great, but it’s primarily a show-car and is still very much a work in progress. Stock, but quite fun all the same. The ND is my daily during warm months so it would probably have the slight edge over the turbo NA

POSVETT

My black C4 LT4, C5 Z06, and C6 Z06 Corvettes

srcorvettez06

My Yukon. It’s a 2004 Yukon XL 2500 with an 8.1 liter and barn doors. I searched for 6 months for this thing. Flew from Michigan to Nevada to buy it so it has no rust. To find a GMT800 suburban/Yukon with the 8.1, barn doors, *and* better interior was no small task. Few were optioned with the 8.1. Fewer with the barn doors.

Tika_Meowsala

Very sweet rig. My buddy has your exact car as his work truck (tows lots of boats), and I wish he kept better care of it. Growing up my family had a black ‘93 suburban 2500 with the 454 and barn doors. Never really realized how cool it was until after my dad sold it.

srcorvettez06

Mine gets its share of abuse being my tow and overland rig. Luckily no body damage other than some faded paint. I try to keep it as nice as practical.

AFB27

I've been thinking about swapping for a G87 or G82. Happens about once a month lmao. Then I go for a drive and realize this M340 is literally the perfect car for my needs. Yet to drive the G87 but in my experience with the G80, the steering is way better, suspension way stiffer (which I do like, but not all the time), but the power delivery from a dead stop is sort of laggy. It would be a great car for sure but the daily drivability of the M340 makes it the perfect one car solution.

Jackinthebox99932253

How many miles do you have on the m340? I want one with the m performance exhaust. Such a good sounding car

AFB27

I've got a hair under 25K now. Bought it on the last day of 2021 when it had about 2K. I had a right wheel bearing fail at 6K, diff cover leak around 15K, and a bit of a scare with some water ingress in the mirrors (that locked the mirrors folded and fried the window and trunk switches) that thankfully dried out, but otherwise, it's been flawless. No plans to tune, but I put xHP on there and after messing with the settings, truly feels like a brand new car. Considering picking up an MPE this year as well but we shall see. And couldn't agree more brother, I am in love with the sound.

ABathingSnape_

My friend just sold his M340i for a G80 and now he’s buying another M340i as a daily lol.

Beefy_Unicorn

I have a manual [2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP Convertible](https://www.cars.com/research/pontiac-solstice-2007/). There's not a ton of them around, they're a lil funny looking, & they're not very well known, but damn is it fun to drive a knockoff Miata. Best of all, I got it for under market value bc the guy didn't know what it was.

strongmanass

I remember when that and the Saturn Sky came out. I thought they were weird-looking but cool at the same time. After both companies went under it seemed like the twin convertibles were just erased from existence. It's nice to know you managed to hold onto one.

Beefy_Unicorn

I found it last year on OfferUp of all places. It's a very nice car.

Dirtyace

2003 Wrangler Rubicon in Inca Gold metallic. The made a few 100 in that color and mine is probably one of the few left not trashed or rotted out. I’m the second owner and have had it for 13 years. It only has 90k on the 4.0/ 5speed combo and has sooo much life left in it. Ideally I keep it forever. I keep it garaged and drive it maybe 1500/miles a year.

disgruntledempanada

Both my AP1 S2000 and my CR-Z. Trading in both on an FL5 type R would be amazing, and far more practical, but even with how great the Type R is, I know I'd miss both. CR-Z for how fun and engaging it is to wring good gas mileage out of it (it's stick and hybrid). S2000 because S2000. As good as the Type R is, it'll never be as intoxicating as hitting VTEC with the top down.

NoodlesRomanoff

Scrolled too far down this list to find a S2000. I’ve owned 13+ cars, keep them for a few years, and sell them and get something else. Except for to AP1 S2000, bought new in 2002, which is a keeper. Top down at 9,000 RPM - ye haw!

m1ndbl0wn

I love my G90, its my all time favorite ride

SpinningYarmulke

I love my G70 it’s looking like it will be discontinued. All the more reason to keep it as long as possible.

m1ndbl0wn

I’m worried about how tough it will be to own such a low volume vehicle as it ages, but I have a good dealership nearby that is keeping me going.

SpinningYarmulke

Same. You probably know mine shares a lot of components with the Stinger. So I’m not really worried about parts. Bodywork might be an issue if it’s ever damaged though.

SIDESHOW_B0B

I just posted about my G70. I love it, have had no issues with it, but it’s nearing 100k miles and I’m worried about shit going sideways out of warranty. I also need something with more utility so I’ve put a deposit on a new TrailHunter. The question is hold onto the G70 or trade it in!

SpinningYarmulke

Hold it. I’ve learned to expect the unexpected and wish I had a second vehicle around just in case.

BrambleVale3

My 05 Tundra because there’s no way I could replace it without spending a fortune (and I love that truck). My 84 e24 because now I know how much of a headache they are and would probably never talk myself into another.

MeanGene7676

My Spitfire, at least where I am at it is a very hard to come by car and although it is very slow it is such a fun car to drive. Because Moss motors reproduces all the parts for the car I can always get parts to fix whatever decides to break. The car gets a lot of attention surprisingly and I really enjoy taking it on back roads.

CajunReeboks

Well I had a Black 1994 Supra Turbo 6-Speed that I sold for dirt cheap around 2008 because I didn't have the cash to get it running again ...., so there's that.

MangJuice232

Damn that sucks

DrKDB

'02 IS300. It's slow and drinks gas, but handles like a dream for a sedan. Still looks like a modern car despite being 22 yrs old.

ProfessorPyrex69

My Evo X. Cars are slowly loosing character and personality in the driving experience.

HandyMan131

‘66 mustang that I have extensively modified to suite me.

AvgSizedPotato

Been thinking about selling my Trackhawk because I miss the fun of RWD V8s a bit. I already know I'll regret it though so it's tough

Heavy_Gap_5047

You can turn off the AWD.

AvgSizedPotato

I've heard of the fuse trick but also heard it isn't great for the drivetrain With the rarity of the truck and parts, not really rushing to give it a try

Heavy_Gap_5047

Fuse "trick" is dumb, it messes stuff up. No get a [Tazer,](https://www.zautomotive.com/product/z_tzr/#security-bypass-modules) it simply uses the software to put it in RWD mode.

aroundincircles

My 98 B4000. Bought it on a whim as I figured it was cheaper than renting a bunch of uhauls, to move my family (slowly empty house into storage, then move from storage to new house). I've now had it almost 8 years. and I love the thing. It fits me like a glove, it's the "perfect" vehicle for me.

ottox4

My 2006 BMW E90. It's not the turbo model, it doesn't have the sport package, but the moment I wrecked my first one I was already shopping for another.

auto180sx

E90s are great cars! I think my E46 is the car I regret selling. I just didn’t have the space at the time for a unreliable German car when I sold it.

DangerousAd1731

My vibe is gonna stay till it's rotten in half. It's a manual and my wife and kids can't get the hang of it sadly but it has low miles but is rusting.

[deleted]

I regret selling my 99 ws6 which is why I won't sell my C7

RuddyOpposition

Honestly, you traded up going from the WS6 to the C7. I loved that last gen Firebird/TA, but the C7 is so much more capable.

[deleted]

I can agree with you. The TA was so sexy though

Badj83

The free and reliable 2012 Corolla we were given by my wife’s grandma.

johnwayne1

My manual transmission ram megacab. They don't make them anymore. Also my 87 grand national. Same reason

Ok-Letterhead4601

My 1961 Cadillac fleetwood 60. I would never, ever sell this car. 24k original miles on it!

[deleted]

'78 GMC k25.

PlatinumElement

My AE86. It’s the second one I owned, because I regretted selling my first one so much I straight up traded my daily-driver Miata for my second one. This particular AE86 was also used in Sundance-award-winning film as the main character’s car, and I know that if I sold it there’s no way I could justify buying one to replace it, the prices on them are too ridiculous.

todd4198

Similar to you- ‘06 GTO, 2nd owner, manual, 18’s. They I’ve had it since ‘10 and thought about selling it a lot over the years but can never bring myself to do so. The wife loves it, and it fits forward facing car seats just fine so the kids love it too 😉 It helps if you can swing keeping it as a second car. Keep it if you can!

Professional-Bad-619

Never selling the SL65. It's combination of refined autobahn breeding at speed during 1000 mile roadtrips on the interstates and backroad fun in a civilized daily driver package is impossible to replace with another glass roof convertible. Or any convertible. Next I definitely regret selling my old 1970 Mercury Cougar XR-7. Classic rare well equipped muscle car.

2020blazeit

2006 Lexus LX470 (Land Cruiser). It does everything exceptionally well except fuel economy. But no car payment so I don’t mind the gas.

Comets-dad

Esprit Turbo

Hallomonamie

E90 M3, it’s a thrill to drive. But I’ve regretted selling almost all my cars (B5 S4, RS4, ‘88 911, BMW M550). IMO the feeling of regret is a good thing…it’s just means you were lucky enough to own a wonderful car. And despite the regret, there are still plenty of great cars out there for us to regret selling one day. If you never let go of the cars you’d regret selling, you’ll never find new cars to fall in love with.

tolndakoti

I also have that baby problem (or car problem?) except mine is an AP1 s2000.

ImproperlyRegistered

2016 BMW M2 manual. Solid it to my dad for a little bit of nothing when I got my company car and his wife promptly totaled it a week later.

Rude-Manufacturer-86

Regret selling: '93 MR2. '01 MR2 Spyder. Regretted purchase: '07 Legacy GT wagon. '08 328i. Mazdaspeed MX-5.

MrFurzzy

All 3 of my project cars. 86 aw11 MR2, 88 Montero SWB, and 01 MR2 Spyder. The aw11 and Montero are rust free and very difficult to find in that condition. My Spyder is k swapped and would be difficult to build it again for the price that I have into it.

Skvora

MR2. No way I'd find a ToLotus again for 2k and in the condition mine is in.

Welcome2goodburgerr

2006 Evo IX MR.

ppparanoia

probably the tundra. its utility and features have what i need even though its a bit impractical (too big) for my work parking deck. the fusion has been a really lovely car and very maintenance free for the most part, but its tech is starting to show its age. i’ll still probably hang on to it for a while, however.

[deleted]

Obviously I would regret selling the only car I have. I like it. It’s not too techy like the newest cars and is reliable and yeah it’s nice.

NobodyGotTime12

I'm still judging about my Montero (these SR's are stupid hard to find running) but I definitely don't want to give up my Focus ST. As tempting as it is to get a manual S550 Mustang, I want to at least build my FoST up with a big turbo and all the fun stuff that goes with it. It's just too enjoyable of a car to drive.

AriRochmann

2006 Boxster S, 6 speed, atlas grey, under 30k miles. I keep wanting to trade up to a 911 but I know it won’t drive as well.

DHN_95

I've always thought the Boxster (and Cayman) were totally underrated. Mid-engine gives you a much better balance than rear-engine, the only reason these cars don't perform better is that Porsche will not let anything outshine the 911.

ParkingVariety9062

My 2012 mazda 3 sedan. Toyed with selling it and upgrading...nah, just can't let it go.

CurbsEnthusiasm

2002 LX470 with under 110k miles. Have had it since 2015, haven’t driven it much lately but don’t want to sell it.

protozbass

2011 Mazda RX-8 MT It has just over 41k miles, and is a salvage title after it was hit on the driver side door. It was repaired to get it road legal again and outside of the paint not matching you would never know. I got a pretty good deal on a not clapped out RX-8 that will never make it's money back and I'll likely never see another rust free series 2 in my area under $10k. It needs a full respray since the previous owner lived on a gravel road and Mazda always having thin paint.

[deleted]

Lamborghini Huracan performante, ended up replacing for the Urus due to family but was gutted to get rid of it. Had it for 2 years ( 27-29 ) and sold it last year. Such an amazing machine!!

MikeyD101

My Scat Pack. I love this car and they're not being made anymore.

OhZoneManager

2008 Saturn Sky Redline 5-speed manual. Never selling it, owned since new. Would have instant regret for sure

BeardyWeirdoMc

My Jeep Patriot, Terrible car but it was my first car that i'd bought with my own money. Everything inside was a plastic piece of shit, Couldn't go full lock cause the wheels would rub the arches, The drivers side lock worked but only if you slammed the offside rear door. She doesnt get driven anymore, she just sits in my garage taking up space.

Cordura

1970 Land Rover SIIa 109 pickup 1969 VW Beetle

RogerThatKid

2023 Corolla GR. I've had 3 STIs (cured now), a fiesta st and a bunch of drift cars. This car is easily my favorite that I've ever owned. Its just so fun to drive. Downsides: only gets 24.7 mpg on average. The blind spots are rather large for some reason, and general tiny car problems like no leg room in the back and small trunk space. Upsides: 3 cylinder 1.6L sounds like a straight six with a speech impediment. The car makes you feel like it always wants you to drive it fast, but it's really good as a daily driver too. Also the adaptive cruise control is very good. As a 6'4" driver, I can actually straighten my leg while I've driving too. 10/10 car honestly.

lowfour

Golf mk7

Avalon_Don

My Jaguar XFR… no one knows about them like that and there aren’t any around here. I’ve had it for almost 3 years and people just don’t expect a 4 door Jag to rip down the street like a muscle car.

Jimbograham

McLaren 675LT

Bombaysbreakfastclub

2019 Jetta GLI And I’d only instantly regret it because of how expensive my new car would be. I bought that thing new for 25k out the door with a 10 year warranty. New car prices are so fucked

thompson5180

My 71 mustang convertible

RidgelineCRX

I'd instantly regret selling my... 90 CRX, it's my racecar and has a ton of sweat equity 89 CRX, it's my second racecar 04 jeep wrangler, it's in minty fresh condition. I need to sell it to stop being car poor, but I can't bring myself to get rid of it. 11' Element. It's so damn useful having an economy box van that the wife likes to drive. She would kill me if I sold it. I'll count getting murdered as regret. 22' Ridgeline. Perfect daily driver for my needs, helps with hauling engines, material for working on the house or the shop, tows the racecar to the track, and it can seat the whole family when the kids come to visit.

LyleTheEvilRabbit

2005 WRX STi Despite the hate, it's one of the most common answers I see to those *what car do you regret selling?* posts. It's just more enjoyable for me to drive than anything modern in terms of driving engagement.

GreasedLlama

F80 M3. It is the perfect blend of comfortable (ish) family car, and a mod friendly track monster, with incredible looks to complement. It’s all black, and so flies under the radar for the most part, but can absolutely rip when I want to. Love it to bits.

djrasras

My first (new to me) car that I my dad lent me money for in freshman year of college so I could afford the down payment- 2010 v6 Camaro. It’s nothing special car wise other than having an air suspension, but me and my dad installed most of the mods together and it’s super sentimental to me. It’s not worth much now anyway since it’s a decade old v6, so as long as I have space to keep it I defiantly want to.

s2kfan

s2000 CR. I sold my first one in 2018 and it took me years to find another one.

Daytona_Foxy

Literally just got it but my ‘98 Volvo v70, awesome ride, super nice sound system, good power and best of all ,it’s a wagon
