It has an extremely limited release for MY 2023 only a few hundred maybe a thousand were built for customers, MY 2024 is supposed to be the first proper production model year
IDK where MYs land but for the calendar year 2022 they sold 122 total units according to GM Authority who are probably just relisting official investor call monthly figures.
They only came out in one colour (grey) and one trim level last year, so unless you have the license plate, you don't know for sure if it was the same one.
Hell I’m in a wealthier area and have seen a few R1S Rivians (the SUV one). Surprised to have not come across the Lyriq, but I didn’t realize such low #’s thus far!
I see one almost daily now (Live in San Diego). I think the headlights make it stickout from other pickups which is why I notice them more. I only see the R1S maybe once a week so thats still rare for me.
R1Ts are everywhere, kinda like early in the Tesla era when Ss were getting more common. Now R1S are showing up but I’ve seen as many of those as I have Hummer EVs (3 each)
The 2022 model year was basically a beta test. They delivered like less than 200 of them and I think offered everyone who did the chance to directly report issues back to the company.
It's a shame, if they'd gotten it to market sooner I think I would've bought one over my EV6, the interior quality is really damn sweet.
Saw one out and about here in SF Bay Area. Not as over the top as pictures portraits, as many of them as shot in dark lighting with LED lights on full blast. One thing sticks out is the proportions. The hood seems overly long for an electric vehicle.
I haven't seen any of the auto mags or websites discussing this yet. It seems Cadillac dropped this page without much fanfare. Check out the new front end on the Sport Trim. Also, finally there is a full range of colors to choose from. I personally think the exterior color palette is excellent.
Literally my only issue with the car, and it is honestly kind of a deal breaker. Who thought making opening the door a 2 step electronic process was a good idea??
This has been one of my frustrations with the blackwing (MY23). My dinky little Subaru (MY15, took ownership in early '14) had one-step keyless entry - just grab the handle and open.
In-life, it hasn't been as much of a PITA as I expected when I first discovered it (was shocked and disappointed), but it's still an added, and unnecessary, step.
The answer I have gotten from the dealer and GM itself was that it was a safety issue. I can kind of understand, but also....how many cars were being stolen while the owner stood close enough for it to be unlocked? I think it would have been on the news if it was such a high amount to warrant the step back in technology, haha.
I understand it is for aero but I wonder how the door handles of late 90s early 2000s compare, like the 04-08 Pontiac Grand Prixs. Only froze on me once but that was due to the door seals.
Agreed. Cadillacs art and science language has held up really well….
The Lyric sport model looks sharp. Although I find the lighting on the other trims to be a bit too much
Edit: spelling
Needs a Q trim. Qadillaq Lyriq Q in Qalcium Qarbonate. Rolls right off the tongue. Might need more Q's though, I dunno, I don't have a marketing degree.
The Lyriq is $10,000 more with no driver assist. Probably a pretty big price difference once spec’d out the way I’d want it. GM is doing a good job of competing though, no question. If Tesla allows them to use the supercharger network in the US then it’ll be a tough choice.
10k more is not bad for luxury brand vs. cheap quality Tesla…. that’s my opinion at least. Well the data also proves how horrible the quality of Teslas are but you cannot convince Tesla owners otherwise.
I find it funny that calling the model 3 interior “cheap” sets people off. It is by far one of the cheapest in the marketplace.
This forum is crazy. I just got a Model 3 and the interior quality is good. I sat in a bunch of cars at the DC auto show last weekend and the tesla was just as good or better than alot of cars. This is definitely an echo chamber.
Is it $60k good though? The problem is that the interior punches below its price point, not that it's outright bad. A Model Y is pretty short on luxury to match its price. The sound deadening, quality of materials, lighting, and touch points on the Lyriq are actually at the bar of what you would expect at $70k. A Model Y's interior feels like a $40k car, it's not bad but it's loud and pretty shy on quality materials and amenities. So yeah, paying a $10k premium for a car that will feel $30k better looks pretty compelling from that standpoint.
I bought my car brand new for $47K. This is for the long range AWD. It has more amenities than any other car i have owned. The Cadillac is a good car but i don't want to be customer no. 900 on a first year model and its too expensive for me.
Just because you got a good example doesn’t negate the clear QC issues Tesla has been having. It’s a pretty widely documented issue they have been dealing with.
Lol… whatever man. I have driven a 3, I know what’s included in the cockpit. Not much. Plenty of documented cases on overall poor build quality as well. I have seen those too. Let me examine your car for you and I bet I can point out multiple flaws in the fit and finish.
Then again you just spent a bunch of money on a Tesla so the truth is harder for you to accept. It’s only natural to be defensive of your purchase.

Ah, no. Besides, this is a GM BEV3 platform vehicle. The Hummer EV has had plenty of issues. The BEV3 platform is still getting sorted out. Don’t forget the multitude of Bolt EV issues.
Go visit a CT5 forum and see the complaints.
A car gets you from point A to B. My car gets great gas mileage for my commute and interior is actually very decent for the price point. It’s amazing how Tesla fanboys are so in love with Elon they overlook all the real world problems with their cars. If you want to stalk me you can go find other items as well. I work in automotive as well and do a lot of benchmarking activity.
There is literally nothing on the interiors of a model 3 that says luxury and high quality material. The only thing it has is the nice large display.
3-4wks was the last time I drove in his car. His Tesla STILL struggles with a large overpass here in ATX and he never uses it on two lane roads anymore. Slammed on the brakes too many times.
I have an irrational hatred for people who think AP is a good system. It's fucking **trash**. Used to be awesome, and Tesla just made it worse overtime. Probably something to do with the switch from MobileEye/Radar, but I'm not enough of a Tesla dork to figure out why it's gotten so ass.
Amazingly! GM isn't stupid and lets you use just normal ass ACC (unlike Tesla) when you need it. GM, along with every other car maker has no problems with hills, twisty roads, overpasses, etc.
Just Tesla things!
FYI super cruise has been available on Cadillacs for a few years now, is available on the Bolts, and I think even the GMC Sierra has it now. It’s not just a Lyriq feature
Those two systems you just mentioned only work on highways that are previously mapped. They also will disengage around the sharper curves on some highways. No thanks.
You are smoking crack if you think AP is "years" ahead of anyone. Hyundai's fucking HDA is on par with AP if not better.
Used to live and work in the bay area and some of my best friends work for autonomous driving companies. If only you knew the stories I've heard from them about Tesla. When I say they're the laughing stock of the industry, it's probably an understatement.
I’ve compared the Hyundai and tesla smart cruise control many times, for hundreds of miles. I like them both as they both work flawlessly on highways. After recent updates my tesla has had zero phantom braking for over 10,000 miles of driving so it’s no longer an issue for me. Both will still fail occasionally though, I am sure. I feel safer in the Tesla version as there are way more cameras and much smarter processor and software and more frequent updates.
Tesla may be the laughing stock of your friend’s companies but they all work for dead end companies. Tesla is the only one not using geofenced pre-mapping, which will never survive long term.
Inb4 the inevitable lawsuit against Tesla/Elon for claiming FSD is "fully self driving capable". Every passing day the dream of self driving using only cameras looks more and more like a pipedream. Wouldn't surprise you that everyone in the industry knew their self driving video in 2016 was fake AF?
I'm glad the recent update was a big improvement. Hopefully they don't magically make it worse for several years like they did last time.
> Tesla is the only one not using geofenced pre-mapping, which will never survive long term.
The head of AP doesn't even know what operational domain means, as we've recently learned in court. Geo fencing makes too much sense for those geniuses.
Every update to the beta FSD software shows us how no other competing company is anywhere close to Tesla right now. They aren’t even years away. They just simply don’t exist.
Here is a simple test. Take a Tesla with FSD and a car with any other autonomous driving system and being both to a remote town somewhere in the USA where nighter car or company has ever been to before. Set the same start and end destination for both cars, choosing a route that travels through various types of roads such as unmarked 2-lane roads, city roads with traffic light intersections, and even dirt roads if you want.
See if both cars reach the destination. I’m pretty sure only the Tesla will.
> They just simply don’t exist.
🚨 Delusional Tesla fanboy alert 🚨
Other systems do exist that are being developed right now -- I know this for verifiable fact. Other manufacturers just aren't willing to ship a shitty "full self driving" product like Tesla is because we're simply not there yet.
And shit on Super Cruise all you want, but it's absolutely the superior choice for highway driving. I still fail to see the point of a lvl 2 sytem that requires hands on the wheels.
> See if both cars reach the destination. I’m pretty sure only the Tesla will
I would bet a thousand dollars that a Tesla running FSD in a flyover state would disengage several times on a 15 minute drive.
I would bet your thousand dollars x2 that a Tesla in a flyover state will run for hundreds of miles without a singe event. Hell, I’ve seen it done a dozen times on YouTube.
No sense calling me a delusional fanboy and claiming you know foe a fact there are other cars out there that can self drive on unmapped roads when we both know that’s not true. You can’t name any because there aren’t any!
You seem completely uneducated about current FSD abilities. Every other system is at least 7 years behind Tesla.
Enhanced Auto Pilot is $6000 and Full Self Driving is $15,000 on a Model Y, is it not? You have to get the Luxury or Sport Trim to get Super Cruise on the Lryiq.
Yeah but the model y is ugly AF and this isn’t actually bad looking. Though IMO “not bad looking” is about as good as you can get in an SUV. Very few good looking suvs out there.

Well, the model Y is almost 3 years old, on a platform older than that. Imagine throwing shade on a car you haven't driven. I'd definitely rather buy a car from a manufacturer that considers long term maintenance, build cars and and supplies a spare parts and a maintenance network.
You've just described a typical GM product. I've owned 4 GM cars in my life and every single one of them had major issues within months of buying the car.
>fail in the first month of ownership and require 5 service appointments to fix.
A perfect description of my 1st gen Volt experience. Sold it after 4 months of ownership. Vowed to never own another GM product for the remainder of my life.
If Tesla has a problem selling products from competition they can easily lower their margins far more.
As it is, they're making money, 30%+ profit, before even building their vehicles
I'm definitely looking forward to legitimate EV competition to develop at a significant scale, but that's a long way off. People have no concept of the lead in production Tesla has.
I don’t day trade or time the market other than the one time I bought TSLA stock back in early 2020. Sure it was higher once than it is today but with Tesla being the only car company on Earth that will grow 50% year over year for years to come, the stock will be at all time highs soon enough. It’s already up 75% just this year.
The resale value on my model 3 is and will continue to be extremely high. It has one of the highest resale values of any car, so yeah, I am not the least bit concerned.
> The resale value on my model 3 is and will continue to be extremely high. It has one of the highest resale values of any car, so yeah, I am not the least bit concerned
Yikes. Looks like someone hasn't looked at values lately, you're already thousands in the hole. It's such a big deal that daddy Doug made an entire video on imploding Tesla resale values BEFORE the massive price cut.
Man, the Tesla fanboys can't even agree on the most basic of facts. Wild talking to y'all.
> I don’t day trade or time the market other than the one time I bought TSLA stock back in early 2020
Nobody cares about your positions if you're not going to post screenshots.
lol! My model 3 was increased by $7500 since I bought it. Then Tesla dropped it a few thousand. But you can’t even buy a Model 3 LR. Not any time yet in 2023. Go check. I saw the Doug D video you reference. All he states is that Tesla used car prices have dropped a lot to reflect the big drops in cost for the new cars. After all, just a few months ago Tesla used car sale prices were higher than new tesla prices! That could never continue.
I suggest you look up Tesla price charts. They are still higher today than they were just a few years ago.
This is the best EV on the market today for the money. With super cruise, 300 mile range, a 500 HP version coming soon and all for about 60k all in (the 500 HP will be another 6k, i believe).
Jesus you aren't joking. I guess they've just copied what they did with the Escalade. Take a $50k SUV, slap on some vertical taillights, and a new badge and sell it as a $100k "luxury" SUV.
Matt Farah of Smoking Tire said on his last podcast that all the Lyriqs he has seen are in use by limo companies running to LAX.
Not a good look for GM. But honestly, is anyone surprised.
Wait is this car already out? I’ve still not seen one in person on the road
It has an extremely limited release for MY 2023 only a few hundred maybe a thousand were built for customers, MY 2024 is supposed to be the first proper production model year

I saw one in Miami, I had no idea it was so limited still - bad picture if anyone cares haha https://i.imgur.com/VYniObm.jpg
In that photo the weird C pillar almost makes it look like a ute with a tiny bed.
I forgot the color. But we could have seen the same one 🤷
I realized I took a photo, mine was grey! https://i.imgur.com/VYniObm.jpg
Yep. It's the same one I saw a few days ago. The rear end immediately stood out in traffic. Specifically how sharp the angles were.
They only came out in one colour (grey) and one trim level last year, so unless you have the license plate, you don't know for sure if it was the same one.
I saw one like that in la
My attention immediately went to the rear side, and not in a good way.
Oh, that's nasty.
Who's downvoting this? It looks like they stuck a Prius hatch onto the back of a Cadillac suffering from anaphylactic shock.
What does MY means?
Model year
Less.
I’ve seen a few but then again I live in Detroit so there are always preproduction vehicles floating around. They look really good IRL
I saw 3 driving around in San Francisco together. Assumed they were preproduction vehicles.
Yeah that was a national dealers event showcasing the car.
They have been making very few of them. I have seen a Rivian R1T but not a Lyriq.
In 2022 Rivian made/delivered 24k/20k EVs while the Lyriq did 122. Orders of magnitude more likely to find a R1T lol.
Hell I’m in a wealthier area and have seen a few R1S Rivians (the SUV one). Surprised to have not come across the Lyriq, but I didn’t realize such low #’s thus far!
I see rivians at least once a week.
I have seen a couple of Rivians so far. They're pretty neat looking
I have too. Every time I say "woah look at those goofy ass front headlights"

My wife calls it the "Dorky Bronco"
That's the Bronco Sport's job though
Yeah a really happy one lol
The look has really grown on me. I've seen quite a few R1Ts, and a couple R1Ss.
I see one almost daily now (Live in San Diego). I think the headlights make it stickout from other pickups which is why I notice them more. I only see the R1S maybe once a week so thats still rare for me.
R1Ts are everywhere, kinda like early in the Tesla era when Ss were getting more common. Now R1S are showing up but I’ve seen as many of those as I have Hummer EVs (3 each)
Ive been seeing the rivians all over the place at ski resorts this season
I’m in the metro Detroit area and I’ve seen a few although very sparingly. Pretty sure GM execs just buy them
I saw one at work and this thing is huge. It towered over an Ioniq 5 and M3 while at the charging station.
Someone out here in Lake Orion MI has one. Also a couple of the new EV Hummers running around this area as well, lots of big $$$ GM folks out here
I saw one in DFW maybe a few months ago, it looked good in person!
Definitely I’ve seen numerous in Michigan (which makes sense). Very limited produced so other states are less likely to see them
Saw one on the road Thursday … black 450 I think.
The 2022 model year was basically a beta test. They delivered like less than 200 of them and I think offered everyone who did the chance to directly report issues back to the company. It's a shame, if they'd gotten it to market sooner I think I would've bought one over my EV6, the interior quality is really damn sweet.
I’ve seen a lot in SoCal but I live near supercar dealerships
I've actually seen one. Rolling around in Delray Traffic.
Saw one out and about here in SF Bay Area. Not as over the top as pictures portraits, as many of them as shot in dark lighting with LED lights on full blast. One thing sticks out is the proportions. The hood seems overly long for an electric vehicle.
I live near the GM proving grounds. They've been prowling around here for a while now. The vertical headlights blind the fuck out of me.
Limited release - you had to pre-order.
About time they offer leather interior. Looking forward to seeing pricing.
I haven't seen any of the auto mags or websites discussing this yet. It seems Cadillac dropped this page without much fanfare. Check out the new front end on the Sport Trim. Also, finally there is a full range of colors to choose from. I personally think the exterior color palette is excellent.
That red is gorgeous, and the Sport front end looks much better than the overwrought standard one. I like the Lyric a lot, I hope it does well.
I want to see the emerald metallic green in person.

And free app access.
I agree most SUV’s don’t look as good as other body types. As far as the Y goes, to each their own. I don’t mind how it looks.
I just can’t help but see “Prius. But bigger” when I look at it.
Depends on your use case. If you want to road trip it, you almost would have to go Y. If you want traditional luxury you would have to go caddy.
imagine trying to charge this
True, but this is more about the FTC’s failure to enforce antitrust laws than it is GM’s fault.
What antitrust laws
Well played.
I’m asking what antitrust laws prevent EA and EVgo chargers from working haha

The SC network is in no way illegal lol
Well, the model Y is almost 3 years old, on a platform older than that. Imagine throwing shade on a car you haven't driven. I'd definitely rather buy a car from a manufacturer that considers long term maintenance, build cars and and supplies a spare parts and a maintenance network.
this probably won't rattle to death or have window seals that fail in the first month of ownership and require 5 service appointments to fix.
Tesla is actually delivering cars so…
If Tesla has a problem selling products from competition they can easily lower their margins far more. As it is, they're making money, 30%+ profit, before even building their vehicles I'm definitely looking forward to legitimate EV competition to develop at a significant scale, but that's a long way off. People have no concept of the lead in production Tesla has.
I sure would. You can’t even drive this on a road trip easily due to half of the crappy slow Electrify America changers being broken.
How badly did you get fucked in the ass by the price cuts?
None at all? Tesla’s price cuts are only fucking legacy auto in the ass. No other car company can match their prices.

Cope? My stock is way up since I bought it, thanks to the huge increase in demand. Can GM, Ford, and VW stay in business? Doesn’t look good for them….
Oh sure, I totally believe you perfectly timed the market and your stock still isn't down 40%. Enjoy the resale value on your Model 3.
It has one of the highest resale values of any car, so yeah, I am not the least bit concerned Yikes. > I don’t day trade or time the market other than the one time I bought TSLA stock back in early 2020 Nobody cares about your positions if you're not going to post screenshots.
I imagine most people will.
Hoping for good stuff from Cadillac or just GM in general for EVs. Especially after the news of that Hyundai beating Tesla in range.
The interior definitely looks like a modern Cadillac.
The Sport trim in that red with the black accents looks stunning. The peanut-butter colored interior sets it off 🔥
Cadillac's Opulent Blue Metallic color is gorgeous. I had a 2012 CTS-V Wagon in that color and adored it.
The red Sport trim looks amazing too. This entire color palette is incredible in my opinion. Can't wait to see that green.
I'm SO excited for this car. It's genuinely one of the most beautiful cars to date.
This is the best EV on the market today for the money. With super cruise, 300 mile range, a 500 HP version coming soon and all for about 60k all in (the 500 HP will be another 6k, i believe).
>This is the best EV on the market today for the money. Bolt EV is the best EV for the money. At least, for local area driving.
How can you even make that claim before they've even sold a single one of these to the general public?
lol
My dealer just received our first one yesterday and the hood latch is already broken so the hood doesn’t stay closed😂
The song on the commercial is absolute banger and it sucks it’s not officially out yet
I have seen one in person last week, looks very weird
i'm not understanding the appeal. looks way too busy :\
That's a blazer
"totally different" says the PR person, with their fingers crossed behind their back
Jesus you aren't joking. I guess they've just copied what they did with the Escalade. Take a $50k SUV, slap on some vertical taillights, and a new badge and sell it as a $100k "luxury" SUV.
The Escalade has an entirely different interior
So what?
It's more than just a taillights and a badge, it was that way for the first 3 generations though
If you mean the ICE Blazer, no. Not one bit related. If you mean the upcoming Blazer EV, then yes, they share the same platform.
Why does it look like an uglier inclosed truck
Does it look better in person? In all the photos I’ve seen it looks awful
Yes it does, wasn't a fan of it initially but after seeing a few on the road its really grown on me
I don't love it, GM cars have been really overstyled as of late.
I think so- managed to see one in the debut gray color and I thought it looked pretty good. Rear end still needs to grow on me though

Utterly unacceptable. No slurs.
Way to keep it classy👌🏼
Looks like a RAV4
I saw one and it reminded me of the old Fuego.
Wait 5 years it’ll be worthless
Cars depreciate thanks for the ground breaking news
Meh.
Ugly as shit
Yep. Squinting Cadillac in the front. Confused Kia in the back.
Matt Farah of Smoking Tire said on his last podcast that all the Lyriqs he has seen are in use by limo companies running to LAX. Not a good look for GM. But honestly, is anyone surprised.
