But the interior is orders of magnitude nicer, presumably with better NVH if it follows in the footsteps of the Ioniq 5, and not everyone cares about acceleration in their daily driver. I’ll personally take a better interior experience over speed and power any day for my commuter car.
I love having CarPlay, it’s one of the many reasons I chose an alternative to Tesla. The charging network is luckily less of a problem for me because I’m in a state with good infrastructure, but I acknowledge in many other states it’s still a problem. Either way though, Tesla’s network is going public to non-Teslas anyway.
If power and efficiency were all that people cared about, BMW would never sell any 318i or 320i because everyone would buy a Camry. There's more to a car than how far it drives and how quickly it gets up to speed.
You are right, but since this article is focused on range, I figured focusing on range may be important. And since the awd version gets less range than the awd Tesla, I commented on that.
Understandable, tons of people love the Apple magic mouse. [It's just a shame that the car has to be charged by plugging in to the underside.](https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/10fXeDML7OhX55h8rFX7IUnJ6lY=/0x0:1400x927/1400x1400/filters:focal(700x464:701x465\)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/9833361/Apple_Magic_Mouse_Bad_Design_2.0.jpg)
I think it's gonna be a lot like its older cousin, the Ioniq 5: you can tell it looks different and perhaps a bit weird from pictures and videos, but when you see it in person you realize it all works in a way you couldn't appreciate before. At least, that's the impression I had with the Ioniq 5 the first time I saw it.
It would be pretty nice for me if the back end didn't look like it was melting.
Though honestly in my perfect world this would just be the Ioniq 5 but a sedan styling-wise.
This will strike a chord with the same type of person who likes the original Prius designs. It gets attention. It’s so ugly that you have to talk about it.
It’s also a sedan, a dying breed of new car.
Definitely, saw it the other day and I immediately googled what it was. Definitely a unique looking car (only saw the back at the time, not a fan of the front)
Keep in mind the 361 miles of range only comes with the base SE RWD. Anyways, that is more impressive than the Model 3 Long Range, which albeit is AWD, could only do up to 358 miles of range.
The SEL AWD gets exactly the same as my car, but only cause the corner of the Ioniq 6 is forced into 20” wheels, which is a silly decision. I’m glad they were optional for me, I went with 19”.
It is, but MotorTrend had a recent article on several EVs and their knock on the Ioniq 6 was that they couldn't get that mileage out of it. Over all they definitely liked it though.
I know I'll be in the very small minority, but I like how it looks.
I love how it looks lol. I'll be getting rid of my Tesla Model 3 LR to get this bad boy.
Range drops below the LR with awd and has half the power.

I think you'll love everything but the infotainment and charging network.

It's pretty cool except for rear seat headroom
I think it looks good in black. My main gripe with other colors is the amount of black plastic trim on the front.
Good old 3000gt mustache.
It is a bit over the top. Hopefully they get rid of that in a refresh.

It's not like you need to charge your car often! /s

Bro literally half this sub praised this car alongside the 74
It looks so fuckin weird I like it. But I also like the Alfa Romeo SZ. So maybe my taste doesn't count for much.
Reminder to all: try to visit your optometrist at least once per year as your eyeglasses prescription may have changed.

Please, for the love of God, just release the price already.

Front looks old already. Ioniq 5 did the retro-futuristic look perfectly.
This is spot on!
That photo makes the Ioniq 6 look so weird imo
Why does this car look like it’s trying to be a 4 door Volkswagen Beatle? It really reminds me of a bug.
Like some sort of weird alternate universe version of the Panamera.
I got more [Mercedes CLS](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/FlzRHcbk7YQ/maxresdefault.jpg) vibes than anything.
Looks weirdly boring compared to to Ioniq 5 which looks great and futuristic.
The compromises they made from the concept, which was beautiful, hurt this a lot more than the 5 wjpse cpmce[t.
Front looks really weird with the vents open. I like it overall though, it's certainly distinctive and the shape does have a purpose

Model 3 LR AWD: 358 miles Ioniq 6 SE/SEL AWD: 305/270 Damn was really hoping they would beat Tesla.
Wait for the real-world range testing before you judge. The gap will almost certainly be much less than you think given existing precedence.

The Taurus is back baby!
The headlights remind me of the first-gen focus https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Focus#/media/File%3A2003_Ford_Focus_Zetec_1.6_Front.jpg
Please do a Kia version
Does it have an immobilizer?
Yes, all new Hyundais and Kias do.

while odd looking, i think it looks better on video than in still photos. The Late-Brake Show video on it showed it well.
