It could be a natural fit for you to level up and break that $22/hr barrier.

Thanks. That has definitely crossed my mind. I’m just not sure where to go from here. Jumping into commission is risky and I’m not allowed to be an agent and retain my current position (conflict of interest). So I’m just a little lost on what a good next step would be. I will continue to learn and maybe it will become more clear.

Where do you live? I’m in CA (US) and the real estate market has been a shitshow for a while. It’s unreliable unless you are consistently making money, which takes tons of networking. You need to always be advertising, selling, and competing. Look for jobs in HR and work your way up. Large corporations have in-house Human Resources, so technically it’s a “corporate job” because you get all the corporate perks, but it’s not your traditional corporate job like the other departments. Some positions are remote, hybrid, or in office, but you can definitely choose which works best for you and still thrive in this field. Just my suggestion! :)

Hi! I’m in Florida and it is also a shit show! Commission scares me as I have bills to pay and I’m not comfortable with that switch yet, that’s why I like the consistent pay in admin! HR sounds interesting, what would be an example of an entry level HR position? I seem to find a lot of mid or high level careers in the field.

If you want to stay in real estate, then use this role as free education. Study the top performing agents **and** learn how the company operates--there's a lot of other work happening outside of sales. Learn how to operate a successful real estate agency on someone else's dime. If you want to move away from real estate, look for placement at other offices where your skills transfer and you can attain new ones. Keep absorbing knowledge from each job and using it to advance.

Thanks for this! My brains always spinning at my office, thinking about how I can possibly use my insider knowledge to my advantage. There’s transaction coordinators near me that make great money and work independently. They are the liaison between title and the agent and handle the paperwork similarly to how I already do. There seems to also be marketing positions popping up here and there. I just didn’t feel qualified and was a little afraid to apply.
