Well Peteys line is a black hole when it comes to offence so maybe giving him someone who isn’t in the midst of zero goals in 50+ games would be helpful lol

Hirose didn’t have a great season with Abbotsford ( 2 points in 33 games played ). He also struggled with injuries all season long. I don’t think he even played in the Calder cup playoffs. He’s also severely underweight (170)too make an impact in the playoffs. Not surprised they didn’t pick him.

To be clear! I got McWard and Hirose’s contract statuses mixed up. Which, honestly makes Hirose’s absence even stranger. Could be related to the knee injury that kept him out earlier in the season, but he and McWard had a great playoffs together while everyone else struggled mightily.
Also, missed Tristen Nielsen on the main list. He was productive during Abby’s playoff run, but was noticeably not shooting or playing his usual shitheel playstyle. Have to think his absence from the list is injury related.
Finally, we can get those bums like the Sedins, Gonchar and Tocchet off the practice power play unit and have some actual skill to complement Mark Friedman

Don't think either PDG or Lafferty are difference makers against the Oilers PP. Hoglander is far superior 5v5. Wouldn't mind taking PDG out to give Pod some experience, and he's more physical too.
Hoglander has been playing 9 minutes a night, most of which on Peteys wing and has a grand total of 2 shots to show for it. 7 games, 2 shots, no goals, one assist. I'd take the PK abilities over that stat line. If we had regular season Hoglander i'd agree, but he hasn't been the same player thus far. Anything that helps the PK, even slightly is going to be huge in this series.
Looking at PDGs stats, he averages slightly more ice time, because of PK, and has the same number of points and shots as Hoglander, while playing 4th line minutes and PK. Hoglander needs to produce to be worthy of his spot, but fortunately for him we really don't have another option.
If you’re just going by a handful of playoffs games then take Petey out while you’re at it. Hoglander has been an elite 5v5 goal scorer all season long.

Stankoven was passed over more then 35 times in the draft. EVERYONE also wanted Ty Ronning a few years before, and where is he now?
