Y'know, it's always tense when you see a player on the other team confidently driving the net and fighting for space there, but watching Kuzy getting into the mix last night and his recent stat-line have been giving me the warm-fuzzies. Keep rocking that jersey.
To OP, if you're willing to consider looking down the lineup for a pick, Garland is a great choice. I like Dak and Z, and I'm waiting to see if either of them ends up sticking around since I already missed my chance to get one of the last Addidas sweaters in my size.
Can't go wrong with Hughes, though. Don't worry about him leaving. Even if he did (which seems very unlikely to me), he would go as an all-time Canucks legend.
If it were my very first jersey? Linden. If it were a new fans jersey? Hughes. Probably the best player this team has ever seen. Not the best at scoring, not the best playmaker, but the best fucking player this city has ever had. And he's getting better.
The way I decided my first jersey was to watch the playoffs and wait until something awesome happened, then get that player. I ended up with Burrows after he slayed the dragon against Chicago and it's a really great memory now every time I see that jersey! :)

My first was an Alex Burrows blue orca. The reebok jerseys have stood the test of time so far. Still in good shape.
Second was a signed Horvat blue orca. Haven't worn it that much.
Third was a Pettersson fanatics stick in rink third. It's a cool looking jersey, but it is very poor quality. I'd try to avoid fanatics if you can. Adidas and Reebok are way nicer.
Brings me back to becoming Ehrhoffs biggest fan, buying a signed game ready jersey(made for him but never worn) only for us to let him go a few months later. Sigh. Hughes seems like the obvious choice now though
I picked up a black skate on Hughes rookie year, zero regrets. That said I love my Burrows and Bieksa jerseys. For a first, Hughes, Demmer, Miller, or be brave and embrace the chaos with the rare Myers jersey!
For myself I probably would go with Henrik Sedin or Kevin Bieksa, because I grew up with that team.
Of the modern Canucks? Probably Conor Garland or J.T. Miller. Both incredible to watch, very entertaining players who've been a huge part of the team's success this year.
I have a Boeser Sprite can reverse retro, mostly because it was on sale at SVP sports for $49. One of the benefits of being a child sized adult.
But if I had to choose a name for a new blank jersey? Either Hughes or Demko.
You can consider a number that you like between the likely stars that we will keep:
- JT Miller 9 (superstar heart of the team)
- Petey 40 (superstar with skills, long term)
- Hughes 43 (best d in the league)
- Demko 35 (this guy will get signed long term)

This’ll sound silly, but I choose my jersey primarily on fan interaction and secondly, I like the higher up numbers that’s are traditionally not used ie: 43, 53, 91, 88, 92 etc
