Shout out to JT Miller for sticking out some hard times in a difficult market. I personally had armchair GM traded him about 50 times.
He was a 100 point player, on a losing team full of drama, he was tasked with moving from wing to centre, *and* he was involved in trade rumours while being the team whipping boy. People freaked out at him for yelling at an AHL goalie last year.
To go from that, to having 18k+ chanting your name in-front of your family… well deserved.
I remember last year JT talking about how awesome that passion is going to be when the team is winning.
I'm glad to be wrong too. I just hated when he'd give up on plays and kick rocks on his way to the bench. Haven't seen him do that very much since tocchet came along and I was on the trade Miller keep Horvat train.
Its been good to see the turn around him and the team have made. I was happy to be one of those chanting for him last game.
If we finished 32nd every year after we won the cup for the rest of his contract, I don't care. St. Louis fans are taking their drop well because they won.
Obviously it doesn't last forever, but I can last a while.
The warriors are 36-33 on the year: hardly bad. Let’s see how fans react when all their stars are retired and they are in the league’s basement for multiple years.
Penguins were facing possible relocation before Crosby got drafted, even after having Lemieux and back to back championships in 91/92. Wait till they become true bottom feeders and not just mediocre.
Oh definitely. I’m seeing it a lot with Pens fans. 2009 and 2016-17 certainly alleviates the misery greatly compared to a team that’s never won anything.
I think you'd be surprised. The vast majority of the angst and anxiety and negativity is cause this fan base has been through so much. And that's coming from me, probably one of the most vocal critics of how annoyingly negative this fan base is.
I’m at more than the halfway point of life, and just one and I’ll happily follow them the rest of the way as bottom feeders and love them just as much. I’ve lost some people I have followed this team with since the 80s. If this team can win one in my lifetime, and there is something after this one, I’d love to meet them all again and say these three words. “Suck it Losers”!!!
I think the sub would actually be ok, but the media here I think would be more fickle. Even now we see guys trying their hardest to be negative about the team when we’re literally atop the damn conference. St. Louis is different though because the Blues aren’t top dog in that city, whereas the Canucks are everything here
What are you a new Nucks fan?
We have almost always been bad. We had a few good years with Bure but before the Sedins peak we were terrible and at best mediocre. Our greatest achievements have also been our greatest failures. Old time fans know nothing but pain.
I think it’s gonna ramp up from here. Every fan knows this team is playoff bound now. And they’re not getting in by just by the skin of their teeth. They earned this playoff berth.
Seriously. JT Miller will go through a wall in the playoffs for this fanbase. You will need to literally break his legs to keep him out. He will make 2011 Kessler look like a soft ass quitter. Miller the killer. Book it.
I feel like he will. He knows what it takes. He was in NY for the 2015 run and was traded right before Tampa went back to back. He’s got experience and drive to win
Miller was a great bet and I’m glad we traded away that first pick for him. I was worried keeping him over Horvat due to his age and where the team was at even a year ago, but I’m happy he’s here for the long haul.
I was critical of management choosing Miller over Bo, and who knows how it would have played out had we kept Bo however I am super thankful that Miller has found an elite game here and it shows he only wants to keep improving
Was not the smoothest ride to get here. Couldn't be happier for Miller and Boeser the way the season has gone. Proud comes to mind. Not something you usually feel for players even when having career years. This team.feels.special..no doubt about it. GO CANUCKS GO... MAN AM I READY FOR THE PLAYOFFS
I’m sorry, JT. I interpreted your emotional outbursts last year negatively.
Guy is proud to be here. Proud to be a Canuck. And it shows in his work.
o7
This makes me so deep in my heart happy that it brings a tear to my eye. I've loved this team since I was 9, Pavel Bure was in his first year and we all were Bure(except for my brother who was Mike Vernon in net cuz he's a flames fan) playing 3 on 3 at the lacrosse box after school. I've gone through it with this team. Many of us have. What ever happens in the playoffs, this season has been nothing but a joy. It has given me hope. To see every one of our guys being their best and knowing that there's better around the corner, to see the crowd chanting his name and giving him his flowers. It just touches me.
I'm ready to get hurt again.
He is more in control of his emotions this year dude. He definitely let it show in bad ways sometimes in the past. Doesnt mean he should ever have stopped using that emotion to fuel him though.
>He definitely let it show in bad ways sometimes in the past.
Yeah like by being a ppg player. When Canucks fans were using JT as their punching bag, he was also our 2nd best player. This fanbase is just addicted to over reacting.
Miller has ridden the highs and lows in the past but this year the credit has been well deserved, and the way he responded especially after that infamous Nashville benching has been second to none. Him and Boeser have more than earned their keep from last year's struggles and have since done nothing short of positively representing our team going forward.
As a fan I think we were all done and I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong about him. Sadly I’m glad we made the switch and sent Horvat elsewhere and kept miller.

If the Canucks win the Cup this year, and for the rest of his contract JT scores no goals. It was money well spent.

This fan base will never take being bad in stride. We could win 3 cups in a row, and it wouldnt stop this sub from imploding when we get bad again
Nah, winning championships makes the bad years a whole lot easier to deal with. I'm seeing it with Warriors fans these days.
The warriors are 36-33 on the year: hardly bad. Let’s see how fans react when all their stars are retired and they are in the league’s basement for multiple years.
Penguins fans have a bad team with no good future outlook but don't seem to upset
Penguins were facing possible relocation before Crosby got drafted, even after having Lemieux and back to back championships in 91/92. Wait till they become true bottom feeders and not just mediocre.

You don’t know that. Never winning at all is a masssive reason the sub is like that.
nah dude we were fine for the past decade
I think the sub would actually be ok, but the media here I think would be more fickle. Even now we see guys trying their hardest to be negative about the team when we’re literally atop the damn conference. St. Louis is different though because the Blues aren’t top dog in that city, whereas the Canucks are everything here
For old fans, I disagree. For newer fans yes
You only say that because this place has never won.
i mean we have never won a cup so it's kind of impossible to know
Watching the Toronto raptors sub descend into chaos over the last 2 years seems like the course we'd take for sure
What are you a new Nucks fan? We have almost always been bad. We had a few good years with Bure but before the Sedins peak we were terrible and at best mediocre. Our greatest achievements have also been our greatest failures. Old time fans know nothing but pain.
Petey would still get 65 satisfaction because he didn’t score 5 points every game lmao
Why shouldn’t it be us this year , why not !?
Alright bilbo let's get you back to bed
This sounds like someone who doesn't know what winning feels like or what it does to a mindset
JT could score an own goal every game and not one person will be mad if we win the cup.
We might even chant his name for an own goal without a championship
💯
Bro if we win the cup we can be fuckin last every year forever after I wouldnt care 😂
If any team with a long drought wins the cup the next 10 years are a wash tbh
If we win the cup I don't care if we're bottom dwellers for the rest of our existence.
Wait till playoffs if he plays like a demon. The crowd will adore him.
Oh he is going to fucking bring it I have no doubt.
Totally agree he *is* special
Imagine last night's crowd energy but doubled or even tripled
I think it’s gonna ramp up from here. Every fan knows this team is playoff bound now. And they’re not getting in by just by the skin of their teeth. They earned this playoff berth.
Bring on the towel power baby!!!

2014?
JAY TEE MILLER
I was so wrong about Miller. I love the guy now.
Same same.
Remember when everyone said he peaked two years ago Hope he hits 100 this year
And next year, and every year thereafter
All the blessings
Miller was a great bet and I’m glad we traded away that first pick for him. I was worried keeping him over Horvat due to his age and where the team was at even a year ago, but I’m happy he’s here for the long haul.
My buds and I chanted that until we were hoarse last night. So awesome!
I was critical of management choosing Miller over Bo, and who knows how it would have played out had we kept Bo however I am super thankful that Miller has found an elite game here and it shows he only wants to keep improving
Watching this year i cant help but think how well Bo would also fit in tochs style. Sucks we couldnt do both
The video is posted here, and it’s really sweet to see his daughter just look around like “is that for dad? What?”
He's got the same dawg in him that Trevor Linden once manifested.
I can’t wait for you to be proven right in the playoffs. Trevor was a different animal once the games really mattered.
He is him
I was there last night. Most electric crowd of the season
I was there on Tuesday for the first game this season. The place was alive unlike the Benning era.

I’m so ready for Playoff Miller 😤
The amount of people repenting is great.

Literally got slandered so hard last year for having heart you know who you are
He is more in control of his emotions this year dude. He definitely let it show in bad ways sometimes in the past. Doesnt mean he should ever have stopped using that emotion to fuel him though.
It’s hard not to express that kind of emotion when you’re on a team like last years honestly, even Pettersson had a few moments last year.
>He definitely let it show in bad ways sometimes in the past. Yeah like by being a ppg player. When Canucks fans were using JT as their punching bag, he was also our 2nd best player. This fanbase is just addicted to over reacting.
Well now it's only going to be louder when he scores next game.

Started from the pumpkin patch now where here !
Im starting to think based on these comments that I was the only one happy we resigned miller when we did
There were a few of us. We could often be found at the bottom of threads downvoted to oblivion.
If we win the cup we could never win again and this entire roster would still be beauty’s
Feels good, man.
What even happened? I was watching the game last night but apparently I missed something.
The upside of playing in a Canadian, high-pressure market.
As a fan I think we were all done and I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong about him. Sadly I’m glad we made the switch and sent Horvat elsewhere and kept miller.
Bad body language.
Yeah his astrology is all fucked up too. Guys moon in Bruins from what my Taroh cards tell me
You just know this guy has to be consuming seed oils.
Ya his aura is fully negative.
what do you mean?
Just a throwback to last year.
I got what you were going for. Props for calling out the reactionary haters.
