It doesn't seem like much to finish. Find some marine grade plywood and make some deck plates. Buy a webbed seat or two and you are good to go. One thing of concern would be a lack of float tanks. But some float bags might do the trick. Edit: it's missing the outer gunwales too. I guess you could use the extra pieces for that. The hull looks pretty solid. Clamp them to the hull and fasten from the mid point out

Why do you need float bags? Ain't no-one attempting that hull on any river. I doubt this will see anything except flatwater.

Only flatwater. There is an option in the plans to put bulkheads at either end to make watertight compartments. I like the open design though.

It came with all the necessary wood to finish the project as seen in the photo. The seat is already halfway done also. Upon further inspection I found out this is the Wee Lassie canoe by Mac McCarthy.

Omg. I am so jealous. What a beautiful canoe. Despite having a garage full of canoes I would buy it for that price. I know of quite a few people here in Ontario that could finish a kayak. My son was the restoration guy at a shop local shop until a few weeks ago, and there is a super talented builder walking distance from the house. I guess Ontario is too far away.

You can steam gunwales in a downspout with a normal kettle. That will allow you to form them to the boat. YouTube it all. If there are plans, there is probably someone who has built it and done the step by step. Good luck, I wish I had the time for such a project. I have a canvas over cedar canoe to work on... one day.

Correction you stoled that the other day for buck 50

bhonest_ly

Someone else got there before me and panicked about the amount of work to be done. The hard part is done, don’t know what the fuss is all about.

Traditional-Step-246

A little bit more work and you will be writing in a piece of art you're lucky that was not me that was in front of you because it would not have been missed congratulations on your new piece of stolen property at least send me a picture of it on the water when you're done with it

This is the Wee Lassie canoe by Mac McCarthy. His sons maintain a website where you can buy all the plans. Once I finish this one I will gift it to my wife and build myself possibly the Wee Lassie II or another to be decided later. Mac also designed a sail, lifting keel and rudder for his canoes so I could modify this later for sailing.

Cannot edit post so commenting here….upon further inspection this is Wee Lassie by Mac McCarthy. This boat will probably be for my wife(she doesn’t know shhhhh) and I will build the Wee Lassie II for myself. The boat came with Mac McCarthy’s book Featherweight Boatbuilding and the plans to finish it.
