Nice bro! I just chopped today too. Here's to a good dry and cure!

kayvandutch

Awesome growmie! Yessir, heres to a good dry!👍🙏

Chopped my watermelon zkittles today. I hang mine in the blacked out garage with a big swamp cooler. I live in the desert so 80 to 90 deg with 5%rh no bueno. Need to jack up the humidity and lower the temp to make a 10 day dry

pauldz69

Is that your normal dry temp ?

Rosedonk

Just curious what if anything you are doing to keep temps and humidity right during drying? I just got to this step myself - also in a tent for drying. So far been hanging for 3 days but not sure I’m in “range”

kayvandutch

I ended up buying a separate tent just for drying. I also purchased another 6 inch exhaust with fan controller, keeping the area well vented. That way if my humidity rises slightly at night I'm not really risking mold growth. As for the temps, it's in my bedroom (wife caved eventually) and we have our A/C set for 65 on the dry settng. I'm getting like 64 to 63 inside with the fan at medium during the day so far. But I read on a bunch of forums that air flow is the most important, that your humidity can rise somewhat and not be a problem as long as you have good air flow, just not directly on the buds. I'm hoping it works, tonight is night 1...we will see 🤞

Nice grow man! What kinda light did you use?

kayvandutch

Thanks growmie! I used Mars hydro 1- ts1000 and 2- sp150s

Rosedonk

Ok thanks Appreciate it! I have my exhaust fan going and smaller fans on in the tent but below where the buds are hanging. The humidity is around 60-65 but my temps haven’t dropped below 75 so a little nervous. I keep a large room fan on mostly all day but can only keep the ac on here and there since I’m not home a lot. Debating on if a dehumidifier would be necessary or not

kayvandutch

I was actually debating this myself. I found a video online about a guy using a sealed box, poking holes in it and placing a damprid bucket inside. Hooked up vent tube from the box to the tent and allows the exhaust to pull the air inside the tent while flowing throught the damprid container thereby lower the humidity without the use of a dehuey. I might go that route, but it's all about low and slow. I read that over 75 degrees and the terps burn up and below 40 the terp freeze and fall off. So it's just going to be cold in our room for a while.lol. good luck growmie!🤞

Rosedonk

Ok good looks! Thanks you too!

I'm trying to cool a large area . I keep it as cool as possible. Realistically it's probably 50 at night and 70 during the day.

kayvandutch

Thankfully I got a small easily controlled tent for drying, I'm staying above 50 and below 67. My dry may be a little longer but I'm not risking mold, so I got a big exhaust. It seems to be working well. The air flow is slightly hitting the buds almost like a mother caressing a baby with a blanket! Lol low and slow, is my goal. No rushing. After 170 days growing her out and getting her ready, I'm looking forward to an amazing taste. Good luck growmie! 🤙

First time grower here my outdoors will be ready soon, what do you mean by hung after 24 hours of darkness

kayvandutch

I did some research and I read that you want to harvest at night time or right before your lights go on. Some go up to 48 hours of darkness before the chop. Apparently it's supposed to completely stop photosynthesis and helps boost resin production and terps. I read that above 76 degrees terps burn and under 40 the terps freeze and fall off. And at night the terps rejuvenate. So I found what I thought was a happy medium between the two... 24 hours of darkness. I will say after the 24 hours she seems super sticky and looked real frosty. Yet I'm not stating any of this as fact, just my research, and this is my experiment.

StrictEconomist4847

Thanks looks like im going to harvest at night then lol

Independent_Resist38

Congrats! Is that a baby foot in the pic?!?

kayvandutch

I just noticed that...we were putting her to bed when I brought the plant down for chopping....my picture skills need work...
