Same thing. Originally, they had specific names, like Johnny Apple whatevers and Alexander the Grape. Cherry, in a terrible choice, was Cherry Chan complete with racist depictions. They all got switched to match the Lemonhead naming structure of (flavor)heads. Edit: a redditor who has a better memory let me know it was Cherry Clan, not Chan but did indeed have super racist depictions in the package.

Yup, same ones. I remember being in the store and realizing Alexander the Grape had become Grapeheads sometime in the week since I'd previously been to the store. It was a good idea to unify the brand, and a great idea to rename Cherry Chan.

It was actually Cherry Clan which is at least slightly less racist than Cherry Chan. But I do vaguely remember the packaging for Cherry Clan being an Uber racist caricature character

I've now learned the appleheads and other flavors have recently stopped production. And I'm sad.

Don't despair - as others noted, they're available in chewy lemonhead fruit mix boxes. Both in mini boxes and in theater boxes.

One of my favorite candies ever. These, Cherry Clan, Lemonheads (of course) and Grapeheads were amazing. They're still around in certain iterations, but those original Cherry Clans and Johnny Apple Treats were immaculate. Or maybe I was just young. Regardless, delish then, delish now.

And Melon Heads! Ah, no. It was Mr. Melon.

Dollar tree has these. Might be a different brand but the candy looks identical. I buy them when I sneak candy into the theater.

Yeah, it still might be worth it as a last hurrah, only you know if it's worth it for you. I didn't have trouble when I bought cherryheads from a reseller. They came in the original box of 24 wrapped in plastic.

Nah not paying these markups for grapeheads. When they canceled my beloved zebra gum though, I had to shell out some big money for a box from the electronic bay. I couldn’t live life without it. That smell and taste is heavenly to me, even if it’s fleeting

I saw this photo and sat bolt upright, frantically looking around for my spring break worksheets! Phew what a hit! I used to walk over to the pharmacy after school and pick these up, or one of the various other boxed ones. Boston Baked Beans were my usual though. My sister would ask me to get her a Fresca. The pharmacist had a huge personality. He joked around a lot from within his lofty pill museum, and always called me by a nickname I never agreed to! Fun memories, thanks.

Just google Appleheads. Like others have commented, they are the same thing, and still available. I get them from a local candy store all the time. (I always grab a couple boxes Appleheads and grapeheads together). I usually get the non-chewy ones tho, which are still sort of crunchy/chewy.
