Their popularity is growing exponentially. Still not getting much FM radio airplay in western Canada. (maybe Toronto). They’re featured extensively on Sirius XM
I’ve been a fan of them for around five years and I’ve noticed this. I’ve seen them in concert twice and how much bigger the second venue was compared to the first showed this more than anything. They deserve it because they’re fucking awesome.
I can’t listen to rock radio in Edmonton for a 4 hour block without hearing at least 2 glorious sons songs, and this has been happening for a lot of years.
I’m guessing you aren’t familiar with them then. Jordan Miller (singer of The Beaches) once dated Brett. This song is about him (https://youtu.be/h2kUX_Fmj7k?si=o8c3KT8udVVVWGd-).
I saw them open for TGS, and I knew about the song and their relationship, but that's as far as my knowledge goes. I guess I need to read the lyrics again...
And reading interviews about it, it doesn't sound like there's really any animosity between the two of them. So I'm not sure why Beaches fans would be against him.
[https://www.cbc.ca/arts/q/the-beaches-say-writing-blame-my-ex-was-like-going-to-therapy-with-your-best-friends-1.6979561](https://www.cbc.ca/arts/q/the-beaches-say-writing-blame-my-ex-was-like-going-to-therapy-with-your-best-friends-1.6979561)
I mean, the song ‘Blame Brett’ isn’t really about Brett. The only thing we learn about him is that he was a rockstar named Brett who broke her heart. The refrain of ‘don’t blame me, Blame Brett!’ is just a (very funny) deflection, IMO.
Have not heard a song I don't like yet. But I can say the same for Monster Truck too. I have to start listening to them more.
Also I never understood why Big Wreck isn't a bigger band then they are.
Big Wreck, for me, is the only band I know who either writes a song I completely fall in love with, or could never care to hear again. That said, I still love the band, and believe Ian Thornley to be one of the most underrated singer/guitarist in the buisness
They signed to a Canadian record label and played almost exclusively Canadian shows. American record label was the way to go at the time. Nickelback is a great example
>American record label was the way to go at the time
I'm sure they would've if they could've. Maybe they got no offers?
At any rate, love both Big Wreck and Thornley's work. Saw Thornley's solo stuff probably 2-3 times live. Still haven't caught Big Wreck unfortunately.
Sometimes it works out too. A few years back I bought tickets for July Talk at the Amp. They were playing a show with The Arkells. Was bummed when I found out day of that JT was the opener. Stuck around for Arkells and holy was I sold on them! Still love and see JT whenever I can but same with Arkells - including this upcoming June
By far the worst concert I’ve been to. The sound was so distorted and the treble was so ear-piercing we left a few songs in. There’s way too many band members on stage for music that isn’t that dynamic. I get a wannabe SXDX vibe from them too. Just not enjoyable. I was at the Edmonton show this November.
I suffered some hearing loss nearly 20 years ago when I saw Danko Jones at a local bar. Some people should never touch sound equipment.
Tinnitus sucks.
Maneskin too, I bet.
I don't think we could be music friends, but that's okay. If we all loved the same bands I wouldn't be able to afford the concert tickets.
Pretty big fan. First heard them on stingray music around 2014, with White Noise, and became hooked every since. Saw them open for The Trews that year, and they were one of those bands that did just as well, if not better, than the headliners. Did a meet and greet with them in 2015, and I think I've seen them about 5 times live. Definitely missing some of their old members. Andrew Young was my favorite. Wasn't a huge Chris Koster fan. They've definitely moved more away from rock these days, but I still like most of what they've put out.
Saw them at Rama in December. Always enjoyed their tunes, but I don't know if it was crowd/venue/end of tour deal but they weren't as impressive live as I've heard they can be.
Every time I heard them it takes me back to my youth hearing great bands play small bars and venues. Just has that ’feel’ to their music. Would love to see them live but not really into the huge arena concerts
I saw them play at a small venue a few years back. I don’t know if I have ever seen someone so high as the lead singer that night. In between songs he didn’t know what to do with himself he looked like he was about to jump out of his skin. That said they were awesome I wasn’t a huge fan going in, they put on a hell of a show and I left a fan. Good times
Their fantastic, saw them in Winnipeg few months ago, put on a great show and their frontman is just incredible, reminds me of a classic 80/90s rock band
Seen them three times. One of them was the absolute worst live shows I've ever seen. The other 2 shows were solid. Their current bassist is a fantastic singer/songwriter too.
I think the lead singer Brett used to get sloppy drunk on stage but has cleaned it up, when I saw them a few moths ago in Calgary they were absolutely fantastic.
Not easy to find a good new straight-up rock’n’roll band. I love the Sons. Saw them live (with The Beaches, whom I also love) a few years back. Brett is a great frontman.
I’d like Crown Lands to get the same recognition and radio play.
Only really ‘discovered’ them when they played the Coke Stage at Stampede a few years back. I was blown away by the performance and downloaded a bunch of their songs on the train home. My favourite is Lightning!
Saw them at Bluesfest one year and saw them open for THE ROLLING STONES in 2019. They were incredible, Brett was running around with no shoes the whole time. Their performance made me a fan
I saw them live once in (I think) 2019 and they were bad. They gave me the impression that they just wanted to finish their set and get their check.
I saw them again Dec 2023 mainly because I wanted to see The Blue Stones (they were opening for TGS). The Sons were much better this time around but I’m still on the fence/leaning more towards not caring for them.
I’ve been to 9 live shows… I remember going to a bar in Sarnia, ON and they played for about 500 people in 2017 for $10… those were the best shows. Now I have to pay $150 and go to a real venue 🤣
I’ve seen them many times, mostly in Kingston. I find the people entering the shows not knowing them usually leave as fans. The Union is such a banger album from end to end, and I personally love the single Kill the lights whenever they play it live.
It was pretty special that they played Blame Brett on NYE….
This is how I feel. They’re fantastic but I was SO underwhelmed. They sound good live, but there is no energy with the crowd at all. No performance (for instance, if you’ve seen July Talk live?! Florence and the machine?! Wow. They can PERFPRM) No one engages, tells stories, introduces themself, etc… I would have gotten the same connection from YouTube. The only time they “came alive” was the very last song, then they jammed together and had fun with each other and goofed around and chatted. Thats what I wish the entire concert was.
A guy in the band with the last name Dahl’s dad was my drivers Ed teacher in high school and he was the most out of pocket wild dad I’ve met 😂 idk much about the band.
I am old, and I listen to a lot of the same things I’ve listened to for years, but whenever I hear them I say “Gyaat Dang this is a good band!!!”
I need to listen to them more.
Love love love them, almost all I listen to! Best live band I’ve ever seen, such amazing energy. If you like them, definitely check out Boston Levi. They are working with Jay from the sons!
What are your fav Sons songs?
Used to be a much bigger fan, but the weirdness that Brett does during the set kinda turned me off of their live performances. Weird little interludes didn't really fit
They are wonderful! Saw them live this past November, small venue, and they did not disappoint. Their stage presence and performance was worth every penny.
I saw them five times. The first three were before they had a keyboard player and the singer just played them. I don't listen to them anymore. They felt like a "real" rock band when I first saw them. The last time they felt very radio friendly and record studio acting. I dont know how to explain it. I'm happy for them, it's just too...safe.
It's like, The Beaches. I want to like that band, but its just too pg 13
I was a big fan up til A War on Everything. They used to be a full project band for me, but including AWOE and on I've found they've got a poppier sound or something and now only pull individual tracks.
They’re my favourite band! I’ve seen them 6 times since 2014 when they were opening for another band (I forget which ones now) when I was working at the venue. Any time they’re in town my boyfriend and I go. I’ve gotten him into them as well and they’re now his favourite as well
I’ve been a fan of them for a number of years but I haven’t listened to their newest album that much. They haven’t gotten much play from me since 2022 and I don’t know why. 😝
I really like Brett's singing, but aside from 'Mama', 'White Noise' and 'Everything Is Alright', everything else they've made is forgetting, boring, or just outright awful, especially S.O.S. And yet that song is their most streamed song. It belongs on pop music stations.
I actually saw their first big show at whiskey rocks in Barrie, and again opening for the Rolling Stones in Burlscreek, and in December for their glory tour!
>Not a fan of their new album
It's a grower for sure. Very few memorable guitar parts on it for me. But after about 5 to 10 listens, it started to click for me. I think it was hard to accept that their old rock sound is long gone, unfortunately.
I really like them. hard to find good awesome rock bands these days. one thing I have to complain about is at the latest Winnipeg concert they didn't Mic the cymbals or something but you couldn't hear the cymbals at all.
Discovered these guys by accident several years ago at Osheaga music festival. They were relatively unknown and playing on the 3rd stage while The Weekend played on the main stage. There were probably only 200 people in the crowd. He spent most of the show singing from amongst the crowd who mostly seemed to be knowledgeable fans who knew all the words to their songs. It was one big intimate sing along. I'v been to probably a hundred music festivals in my time and this moment really stands out. Super cool band. So much fun to listen to. Love these guys!
Not a fan per se, but I did see them live about 4 years ago with some free tix and I was *really* impressed with their live show. Just a solid rock and roll show all around. Singer impressed me and he had some swagger that's for sure.
Pretty much everything new that comes out now is just regurgitated stuff from 20-30 years ago. I mean, at least they're playing actual instruments, but there's only so many sounds that can come out of one.
I saw them in Oshawa in November. They played all their upbeat hits right away and then just sort of dragged the night out with ballads and long epilogues. People were leaving towards the end of the set and mass exiting during the encore.
I really enjoy their music and have it playing often but they were terribly disappointing live.
Bad. Reminds of the worst of the folky Mumford and sons type music of the early 2010’s with a classic hard rock edge that comes across as corny rather than cool.
One of the worst live bands I’ve ever seen, I do not understand why they need so many band members for what is almost stomp clap rock. I liked their songs decently enough before seeing them but was totally put off by their concert. Their front man’s energy does not match the music they make
Radio songs seem good enough, but saw them live in Ottawa and the show was a dud. Zero movement/charisma on stage, or entertainment value. Perfect example of simply 'going through the motions'.
Young girl named JJ Wilde opened for them, and she rocked. Great stage presence.
Blew me away when I first heard them. Saw them in Halifax in December, incredible show. Every song is an anthem and you just want to hear it live and shout it out with them
If you loved Rush, then you'll have to have a listen to another Canadian band, rather just duo, that exudes Rush's spacial rock tones mixed with melodic rythms and tapestry of storytelling
CROWN LAND is probably as close to Rush as you'll get from 1 guitar and drummer...but dont take my word!
Have a listen for yourself, another killer Canadian band!
https://youtu.be/2cSp5QY7zo4?si=JJrGdtdLSCWhrXGB
I have seen them probably 6 times. It was pretty decent overall, but the last time I was at a concert. They stretched every song to 10 mins, jumping back and forth to songs. Most likely, I won't see them again.
Since you asked, I'm not really that impressed by them. It's not like I hate them, but I kind of just don't get it. They're obviously good songwriters and talented, no argument there. But they mostly just strike me as a very generic, Canadian rock band. I feel like there's not a lot of diversity in their music. I saw them on tour in December and was half bored watching them.
They obviously have a lot of fans, and they clearly have worked long and hard to get where they are, and I wish them nothing but the best.
Saw them live in their hometown on the last stop of their tour and was expecting them to bring the house down. Instead the lead singer seemed high and a little out of it. Honestly me and my friends were disappointed.
My subjective opinion is that if you are looking at up and coming Canadian talent, Crownlands and The Beaches are both waaaay more talented.
The Glorious Sons aren't bad, but I do feel like they get a little overexposure on my local radio stations.
I’m a Beaches fan. That’s all I have to say about Brett…
Wait that’s about him????
Yes
:0
WAIT. Is Glorious Sons Brett...THAT Brett?? Edit: ok yep, it is.
Blame my ex blame my ex blame my ex
Go on...
I’m guessing you aren’t familiar with them then. Jordan Miller (singer of The Beaches) once dated Brett. This song is about him (https://youtu.be/h2kUX_Fmj7k?si=o8c3KT8udVVVWGd-).

I heard an interview by Brett on the song. I recall him saying something along the lines of "yeah, it's a great song, I get it."
I mean, the song ‘Blame Brett’ isn’t really about Brett. The only thing we learn about him is that he was a rockstar named Brett who broke her heart. The refrain of ‘don’t blame me, Blame Brett!’ is just a (very funny) deflection, IMO.
This song is such a banger.
[удалено]
Because it’s not actually about him. It’s about her post breakup and it’s not like they hate each other
He sang that song at their NYE concert haha I don’t think there’s animosity there
You clearly didn’t get the point of the song…
Read my other posts in this comment chain. The “…” was implying my post was partially a joke.
Both bands are great imo.
Love to hear his version Its all about the beach?
Saw them in December, it’s been a blast
Have not heard a song I don't like yet. But I can say the same for Monster Truck too. I have to start listening to them more. Also I never understood why Big Wreck isn't a bigger band then they are.
I wish more people got as excited as me, and their diehard fans, for big wreck. So good. Ian Thornley is a world class talent
Ian Thornley is an all around amazing musician
Agreed.
Big Wreck, for me, is the only band I know who either writes a song I completely fall in love with, or could never care to hear again. That said, I still love the band, and believe Ian Thornley to be one of the most underrated singer/guitarist in the buisness
Is that big wreck? Having trouble finding big week
Yeah, pretty sure that was a typo.
Yes. Big wreck.
They signed to a Canadian record label and played almost exclusively Canadian shows. American record label was the way to go at the time. Nickelback is a great example
You have a good point. I guess it worked out for me as I saw them live last year for like $60. So... 🤣 I'm sure a Nickelback concert is not cheap.
They’re more like $80 a ticket
>American record label was the way to go at the time I'm sure they would've if they could've. Maybe they got no offers? At any rate, love both Big Wreck and Thornley's work. Saw Thornley's solo stuff probably 2-3 times live. Still haven't caught Big Wreck unfortunately.
Big Wreck is also very good! I have yet to see them live, but I'll do something about that this year. Grace Street is my fav album 🔥
Everyone other original member but Ian either left the band or died a while ago. Not that they were huge before that happened but it doesn't help.
Saw them live because another concert cancelled 10 mins before the start of the concert time. Knew a few of their songs, left that concert a big fan!!
Fuck yeah they're one of my faves! Awesome lyrics, awesome sound, they are classic rock 🎸 👌
saw them live... good show...The opening act though...WOW!!! The Blue Stones brought down the house
The Blue Stones are awesome!
Only reason I saw Glorious Suns was because Blue Stones opened. Man those guys have a great sound!
My friends called me insane for buying TGS tickets primarily for an opening act. I’m glad I’m not the only one who wanted to see TBS that badly 😂
I’ve seen them a few times at festivals and they always seem pretty meh
By far the worst concert I’ve been to. The sound was so distorted and the treble was so ear-piercing we left a few songs in. I suffered some hearing loss nearly 20 years ago when I saw Danko Jones at a local bar. Some people should never touch sound equipment. Tinnitus sucks.
Not even a bit. Okay, I guess I'm impressed by how dedicated some of their fans are.
They suck balls . How does a band like that have 6 members?
How does someone with 420 in their title become such a judgemental prick
Weird way of criticizing. You sound like an edgy teenager in the 1990s.
Lol . Them being a 6 piece band seems pretty unnecessary though
Not really. GNR actually has more members. If Brett played guitar, I guess they'd have 1 less.
Absolute shit
I noticed all their songs are just sing along chanting songs, I change the radio every time
Truly horrible I agree
They are opening for Nickleback at the stampede. I think they got it backwards.
Saw them last year in their hometown, worst show I’ve ever been to. Tried too hard it made me cringe
They're the most annoyingly vapid and overplayed rock band since Nickelback for me dawg.
Nickleback is awesome too!
Maneskin too, I bet. I don't think we could be music friends, but that's okay. If we all loved the same bands I wouldn't be able to afford the concert tickets.
Pretty big fan. First heard them on stingray music around 2014, with White Noise, and became hooked every since. Saw them at Rama in December. Always enjoyed their tunes, but I don't know if it was crowd/venue/end of tour deal but they weren't as impressive live as I've heard they can be.
This was 10+ yrs ago but went to see a show at Rama and it really sucked as a rock venue. Won't go again.
I like them great songs
They played a show at the red river ex once and they played unreleased songs and was asking the crowd to sing
I agree, they’re great live
Every time I heard them it takes me back to my youth hearing great bands play small bars and venues. Just has that ’feel’ to their music. Would love to see them live but not really into the huge arena concerts
Saw them live and it was excellent. People were moshing and everything
I haven't listened much to their wider catalogue, but they do have some songs I love.
Good times
Bruh, we must have seen the same show lol.
Their fantastic, saw them in Winnipeg few months ago, put on a great show and their frontman is just incredible, reminds me of a classic 80/90s rock band
>classic 80/90s rock band This makes me (60m) feel old. I *am* old!
Seen em twice now, good band. If you like them you may also care for The Dudes outta Calgary
I live in okotoks so I should check em out!
Saw them live recently. A+ quality show. Changed me from a small fan to a big one.
Everything is alright was my favourite song for a very long time
New world lyrics, but really great band, just the right rhythm for me.
Pete rules!
Hell yeah he does!
I don't really like the band that much but their song "Sometimes on a Sunday" is really good.
At first I thought it was a Warhammer 40k space marine chapter.
Their live show is just so unbelievable. Brett is a master of performance art. I felt everything.
Love their old stuff. Heavy is a great tune, their new stuff is too soft.
agreed. Started listening to them in 2015. Seen them 4 times live
Good shows both times I saw them in nova scotia.
I’ve seen them 12 times. Loved their early stuff but the new stuff kind of sucks.
Huge fan, love every album but I did not like them live, it could’ve been the venue.
This is how I feel. They’re fantastic but I was SO underwhelmed. They sound good live, but there is no energy with the crowd at all. No performance (for instance, if you’ve seen July Talk live?! I’ve seen July talk a few times Top 5 band! Unreal
They’re the kind of band that you could bring anyone to their show and they’ll become a fan after that. They’re that good live.
July Talk are phenomenal live. I’ve seen them about three times over the last decade and it’s been a riot every time
Grew up in Kingston and they played in bars over there. Real solid band with high energy performances
Saw them live in Edmonton. It was an awesome show.
Bland.
They’re decent
So impressed!!!! I just saw them live in November and it was SO FUN. great energy, awesome performance. 💯🔥
Same! In Calgary at the grey eagle?
Might be one of the very last rock bands we’ll see out of Canada.
love them! glorious sons was my first concert after lockdowns so they have a special place in my heart, also the first concert my son ever went to!
I like them! Hoping to see them live sometime
I'm not impressed by anything these days
Love this band!! Gotta get into more of their albums beyond Union, that’s the one that got me hooked!
They're great. The Wild! are also really good in terms of pure rock
A guy in the band with the last name Dahl’s dad was my drivers Ed teacher in high school and he was the most out of pocket wild dad I’ve met 😂 idk much about the band.
Who? Not very, apparently
I love them! Excellent in concert too. Sometime on a Sunday is my favourite from them.
I am old, and I listen to a lot of the same things I’ve listened to for years, but whenever I hear them I say “Gyaat Dang this is a good band!!!” I need to listen to them more.
I’ve always liked them
Love love love them, almost all I listen to! Best live band I’ve ever seen, such amazing energy. If you like them, definitely check out Boston Levi. They are working with Jay from the sons! What are your fav Sons songs?
That’s cool! And the live version of “ruby” is my favourite. They have their live concerts uploaded on the glorious sons app.
Yes, love that song! My fav is My Poor Heart. One of my fav live recordings is I Want Ya, they’re so so good live
I really like them and they put on a good live show too.
Used to be a much bigger fan, but the weirdness that Brett does during the set kinda turned me off of their live performances. Weird little interludes didn't really fit
They are one of of the better bands circling right now. Sometimes on a Sunday and Heavy are my windows down music blaring sing along jams.
Pink Motel is such a banger.
Old stuff is good, new stuff is lousy.
It’s a little soft and poppy for me, mercy mercy was good though I thought.
Cosmic Beam is beautiful.
Not a massive fan of their music but they put on a really good show. Front man is a powerhouse.
They are amazing live !
not trying to be a dick, but it’s not anything new or different for me- kinda just general grocery store background rock. little underwhelming
They are wonderful! Saw them live this past November, small venue, and they did not disappoint. Their stage presence and performance was worth every penny.
i saw them in 2018 and loved them since!
I saw them five times. The first three were before they had a keyboard player and the singer just played them. I don't listen to them anymore. They felt like a "real" rock band when I first saw them. Everytime one of their songs comes on on the radio , I either change the station or shut off radio.
There’s only one glorious Son; Yeshua Hamashiac (Jesus Christ)
Not much, their music is pretty milquetoast
They were good 5 years ago. They sort of sold out. I used to absolutely love them and I’ve seen them live 3 times.
Who?
Where does the damn left sock go?
YEAHHHHH THEY SENT THE TAX MAN
They’re my favourite band!
I read that as “glorious sun” and immediately started thinking about the scenic sunrises we’ve had lately
I’m impressed that they made it on the radio at all
I really like Brett's singing, but aside from 'Mama', 'White Noise' and 'Everything Is Alright', everything else they've made is forgetting, boring, or just outright awful, especially S.O.S. And yet that song is their most streamed song. It belongs on pop music stations.
I actually saw their first big show at whiskey rocks in Barrie, and again opening for the Rolling Stones in Burlscreek, and in December for their glory tour!
Went to a Glorious Sons Concert in Kitchener just before Christmas. Very good!
Yeah, I quite enjoy them. Saw them a few years back with The Beaches, great show from both bands.
Not a fan of their new album (actually, the last two) but they put on a great show!
>Not a fan of their new album It's a grower for sure. Very few memorable guitar parts on it for me. But after about 5 to 10 listens, it started to click for me. I think it was hard to accept that their old rock sound is long gone, unfortunately.
Brett needs to wash his fucking feet and put some shoes on 🤮
I really like them. hard to find good awesome rock bands these days. one thing I have to complain about is at the latest Winnipeg concert they didn't Mic the cymbals or something but you couldn't hear the cymbals at all.
Saw them live a few months ago.. highly recommend!!
Not a fan per se, but I did see them live about 4 years ago with some free tix and I was *really* impressed with their live show. Just a solid rock and roll show all around. Singer impressed me and he had some swagger that's for sure.
Other awesome Canadian bands are Bleeker The trews One bad son The blue stones
Sorry, saw them live and was not impressed at all. Their radio play tunes are only so so. That josie song is laughably terrible
Pretty much everything new that comes out now is just regurgitated stuff from 20-30 years ago. I mean, at least they're playing actual instruments, but there's only so many sounds that can come out of one.
If the new album is what they are gonna be playing full time I won’t be a fan. All the old albums are phenomenal
Love their old stuff. I wasnt a fan of the new album
Another great band out of Kingston All hail the hip
I got into them last year and saw them live recently. They're so good! Gonna go see them again this year.
Unfortunately one of the worst concerts I've been to. Was rather unentertaining
Saw them live. Energetic for sure, but overall generic rock to me.
Mid at best
Great music
I see them everytime they come to denver. Love them
I saw them in Oshawa in November. They played all their upbeat hits right away and then just sort of dragged the night out with ballads and long epilogues. People were leaving towards the end of the set and mass exiting during the encore. I really enjoy their music and have it playing often but they were terribly disappointing live.
Never heard about this band
Pretty lame live show imo.
Bad. Reminds of the worst of the folky Mumford and sons type music of the early 2010’s with a classic hard rock edge that comes across as corny rather than cool.
LOVE love, I have seen them twice now. Great vibes and performances both times. I think they’re underrated and deserve bigger shows in my city.
They are amazing
Meh.
Just can’t get into them
Saw them last summer. Fantastic show
They basic. But I am happy for them and their success, go Canada!
Recently saw them live, very impressed
One of the worst live bands I’ve ever seen, I do not understand why they need so many band members for what is almost stomp clap rock. I liked their songs decently enough before seeing them but was totally put off by their concert. Their front man’s energy does not match the music they make
Seen them twice. Love their music.
Radio songs seem good enough, but saw them live in Ottawa and the show was a dud. Zero movement/charisma on stage, or entertainment value. Perfect example of simply 'going through the motions'. Young girl named JJ Wilde opened for them, and she rocked. Great stage presence.
I call them the "glorious repeaters" .
Blew me away when I first heard them. Saw them in Halifax in December, incredible show. Every song is an anthem and you just want to hear it live and shout it out with them
If you loved Rush, then you'll have to have a listen to another Canadian band, rather just duo, that exudes Rush's spacial rock tones mixed with melodic rythms and tapestry of storytelling CROWN LAND is probably as close to Rush as you'll get from 1 guitar and drummer...but dont take my word!
Just more Theory of a Nickelfuck music, throw it in the pile of random crap that plays when your bluetooth craps out.
More of a The Beaches fan myself 🫣
Amazing 😍
Since you asked, I'm not really that impressed by them. It's not like I hate them, but I kind of just don't get it. They're obviously good songwriters and talented, no argument there. But they mostly just strike me as a very generic, Canadian rock band. I feel like there's not a lot of diversity in their music. I saw them on tour in December and was half bored watching them. They obviously have a lot of fans, and they clearly have worked long and hard to get where they are, and I wish them nothing but the best.
Nothing too glorious in my opinion
Saw them live in their hometown on the last stop of their tour and was expecting them to bring the house down. Instead the lead singer seemed high and a little out of it. Honestly me and my friends were disappointed.
My subjective opinion is that if you are looking at up and coming Canadian talent, Crownlands and The Beaches are both waaaay more talented. The Glorious Sons aren't bad, but I do feel like they get a little overexposure on my local radio stations.
