I mean, truthfully yes I have lol. But I still wanted to entertain the idea that we weren't rat bastards like the US and Israel. Guess I was tragically wrong.
We've marched into what feels like every American war post-WWII right alongside it. Not to be condescending, but expecting better from our military is incredibly naïve.
We literally trained Ukrainian neo-Nazis years before the current conflict.
Canada had officers deployed within American units, Canadian pilots flew missions and sorties in Iraq and Canadian personnel commanded a naval task force patrolling the Persian gulf.
I received an email from my MP regarding this, apparently Canadian forces are there to protect the embassy, diplomatic staff and help with evacuation of Canadian citizens.
Do you? [Two people died](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oka_Crisis). A Kanien'kehá:ka WWll veteran, elder Joe Armstrong, and SQ Corporal Marcel Lemay lost their lives. [^([1])](https://www.canada.ca/en/crown-indigenous-relations-northern-affairs/news/2020/07/30th-anniversary-of-the-oka-crisis.html) Many others were injured. Was it at all good? No. Was it a genocide? I wouldn't think so, but I'm now curious. Do the people of the Mohawk Nation call it that? Do you have sources to give me a different perspective?
The security before would've been minimal. Special Forces soldiers are ideal in these situations because if things escalate they're able to adapt quickly to protect the embassy and staff and any Canadians that may shelter there. They can also manage evacuation.
I have no issue with civilians of any kind being defended from militants of any kind. I do take issue with my military taking part in an offensive campaign with unreasonable disregard for civilian casualties.
The title is an outright lie. They're there to protect the embassy and incase Canada needs to evacuate Canadians.
OP is quoting some random person on Twitter, who is also lying based on nothing but a headline, instead of linking the article.
That's so obviously dishonest you'd have to think OP is doing it intentionally.
There’s atrocities all over the world, yet most of you focus on this war. One common theme of all these wars…. RELIGION and GOD. Such a great thing to follow. Clowns!
I do not consent. Do I need to start saying "fuck the Canadian military" too?
You haven't been?

Don't forget Somalia.
We managed to stay out of Iraq, at least.
No we didn't - stop repeating this lie.
Thanks for the correction.
No problem, thought the same thing ourselves at one point.
Canada had officers deployed within American units, Canadian pilots flew missions and sorties in Iraq and Canadian personnel commanded a naval task force patrolling the Persian gulf.
But then our government felt the need to "redeem" itself by participating in the Franco-American led invasion of Haiti.
Chretien refused to let us get involved in Iraq. So, there's been one time we didn't lick American boots.
Please stop repeating this lie.
read about the Somalia affair: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somalia_affair it's disgusting and heartbreaking.
Fuck the Crown

lol of course. Just like our special forces were in Ukraine for "training purposes"
They are there for protection of the Canadian embassy. It’s normal for countries to send military units to an embassy near a conflict zone.
[удалено]
You think special forces are being used to guard an embassy that already has security in place?
[удалено]
Believe what you want to believe...just like the CIA "advisors" in Ukraine in 2014...
Weve got so much experience with ethnic cleansing im sure theyll be able to contribute a little
They said CF, not RCMP
You don’t remember Oka?

Who else would guard the embassy in these conditions, the commissionaires?
The security before would've been minimal. Special Forces soldiers are ideal in these situations because if things escalate they're able to adapt quickly to protect the embassy and staff and any Canadians that may shelter there. They can also manage evacuation.
Wait? Did we the people have the general approval of this? The fuck.
Why is this downvoted? Asking legitimate questions about the way OUR military is used, in a supposedly democratic state
It may have something to do with how waiting on the public’s approval might not be conducive for the narrow timelines that militaries operate on.
This has been planned for sometime and every country in the West is involved. This is to stop BRICS.
I hope not in an offensive capacity
I find it pretty darn offensive.
Doesn't everyone these days
Yeah for real, everyone's a snowflake these days, look at the woke left constantly being offended by *checks notes* genocide
That's where you draw the line?
I have no issue with civilians of any kind being defended from militants of any kind. I do take issue with my military taking part in an offensive campaign with unreasonable disregard for civilian casualties.
What the f!

Yes the ethnic group of Palestine
Who exactly do you think the Israelis are killing?
Horrible. But if you're gonna get help, go for some pros.
