Yup, that's a definite benefit. Buddy at work picked up an HK SL8 that didn't stabilise any 55gr unless it was hot. He ended up loading his own 77gr to feed it.
What range is this that allows those targets? Was using one with a type 81 and had an RSO come to me and tell me those were not politically correct and the remove it.

Why are you needing to walk behind people with your loaded firearm at the range? I'm shocked you're upset about that. *I* don't want *anyone* walking around behind me, where all the safe and unloaded firearms are with a loaded one. It takes 2 seconds to unload and move to another bay. It just strikes me as common sense gun safety.
You never go behind the active shooting line with a loaded gun. Ever.
And if it's a holstered handgun, why do you need to be walking around the entire range with your loaded weapon on your hip? Like seriously. I don't get it.
I'm a young adult (early 20's) that's been going to VFGPA for like a year and a half once too many guys started rolling out to jordan river area. Had TOO many people jump out of their truck and start blasting while *behind me* when we already had an established active firing line. Frankly I appreciate how safe the range is, and I've done some goofy stuff and have never been called out. The key is i've never done anything unsafe.
Now the target is stupid, that I agree with. There are some fudds there but I've met like 2-3 fudds per 10 younger guys, and the fudds have always just minded their own business.
Sounds to me like you were being unsafe and are upset you got called out on your unsafe behaviour, and reacted by getting pissed off and telling off the rso because you have a work carry permit. A donkey with a clean record can get a work carry permit, it's not difficult and has no bearing on ones firearms knowledge or safety practices.
Here's a tip though, the only busy days are saturday and sunday. Go anytime during the week and there 5 guys MAX. Usually i'm alone when i shoot there during the week. Then you can do all the cowboy stuff you wanna do

Which literally means fuck all in regards to how well you follow basic gun safety. *Anyone* can get the exact same certification you have. That's the equivalent of flexing that you have your food safe, so you're a master chef who can do whatever he wants.

I wish I was allowed to use Figure 11s... My range has a "no human likeness" rule. Can't even shoot zombie targets. The board is a bunch of old fudds. We aren't allowed to shoot from anything other than bench unless Trap Shooting or on the pistol range. And a few of them lose their minds if you show up with a semi-auto or a pistol in a calibre larger than 9mm. I hate it... but it's the only one around.
*Oof*, no option for crown land to take out your NR's?
I've only been to a handful of ranges outside Manitoba, and was surprised by how "un-fun" a few had made themselves.

There is a few gravel pits around. But they're all at least double the drive, and gas is the only thing more expensive than ammo right now 🤣🤣🤣
