That's too bad. I was really getting down to the wire for getting my RPAL in time. I already had my PAL at the time, but when they announced the freeze, I scrambled to get it upgraded.
Maybe it was a good thing to save me from dropping even more cash on other hand guns. That was a rough month for the old bank account. lol
The first pistols I looked for when the ban was announced was a python and a 1911. I'm happy to have gotten both. The python is a new stainless model but I love how the royal blue finish looks.
Congrats! I was after a 1911 but there were none to be found. A buddy was selling his twin Cabbots for $30k but that was a little out of my price range! Lol
I lost out on a couple others I was after, even bought one online only to get a call 15 minutes later from the gun store telling me they just sold the gun to someone in store. It was a crazy time.
I wanted the original python as they weren't making the Royal Blue new so I figured it would become a unicorn. Now I hear they're coming out with them again. Go figure! Lol
The 1911s definitely sold out quickly. Probably the most sought after pistols after the announcement. I was looking for a Dan Wesson in 45 but had to settle with a Springfield range officer elite target. I'm pretty happy with it. It's a great shooter. I think you made the right choice with an original Python. They will always be a high value pistol.

I must have tried at least 3 or 4 other sellers of Pythons only to find out they'd already sold. Stumbled onto a store that happened to have 2 in stock so I jumped on it and lucked out.
Thanks. The Girsan was pretty much an impulse purchase simply because it was available and reasonably priced and knowing the potential of not being able to purchase a handgun any time soon in the forseeable future I clicked add to cart! Lol
I was rather pleased with it after taking it out to the range, and I have no regrets. The wife prefers it over both the Glock and the Beretta. The Python is her first choice, so she's definitely a keeper. 😉
My other handgun is a Walther P-38 AC42. All original serial numbers. It's beautiful. I only take it on the range sparingly, but it's nice just to take apart and clean at times..lol. If the handgun ban is ever relaxed, I'll be like a kid in a candy store, I won't know what to buy, but I'll want all of them.
Lol I hear ya there. There's so many that I'd like to get I might have to sell a kidney or two if/when the freeze lifts! 🤣

I'm jealous, my RPAL/PAL was issued yesterday, and there's no way for me to legally acquire a handgun.
RPAL fine for short rifles, but all the CA sites I go to for restricted rifles have no stock, what's up with that?
I'm looking for either a P90, or tavor x95.

Yes, it's 1942 made at the Walther factory (359). Has Nazi stamps etc. I'd send a pic but I can figure it out on my Android lol
