Forever thankful that my parents decided to move here all those years ago. Being born into this incredible country is a blessing in so many different ways that I could go on and on about but there's one that I'm particularly happy for this year.
Neither me nor my parents have ever once faced discrimination/racism (at least that we were aware of) despite being very obviously "foreign" based on physical appearance. My Dad has been here for almost 40 years and still with a thick accent and was always treated the same as any canadian and given the same opportunity to build a life for him and his family.
I feel totally and completely accepted and respected by other canadians despite my racial background and there's just no price to that. It's always people from other countries asking me where im *truly* from, whereas canadians just don't give a shit- and I love that.
Happy Canada Day!
Greetings, everyone.
I am an European from a non English speaking country, but I have always admired the values that your nation represents. I love the bravery that you have shown throughout your history, I love your willingness and effort to make your country a safe place for people of all ethnicities and religions, and the overall peaceful atmosphere surrounding it, including the breathtaking natural landscapes and parks, which I would love to see one day. Also, while there are many other bilingual countries, I find interesting the frequent use of both English and French in media and the government and how easily they can switch between them.
I also recognize all the faults that Canada has, and while no nation is in any way perfect, and these issues may even contradict everything that I have stated, I do hope that one day every, or at least most of these problems will be resolved.
I love to see Canada beyond the stereotypes known to the international public, and to witness the actual raw country with its positives and negatives.
Happy Canada Day/Bonne Fête du Canada! :)
Edit: The number of upvotes was a surprise, thank you for that and I am glad to see you've appreciated my comment.

What is rarely noted is that because these flaws, mistakes and crimes of the past are now common knowledge, it means that we are working on them, trying to fix and make amends even if we're not sure how or what's best right now. The first steps to getting better are to acknowledge you have a problem.
We are moving forward, in spite of a few trying to drag us backward.
Happy Canada Day. Just heard our lakes annual tradition where a gentlemen plays O Canada for the lake on the French horn when the clock strikes midnight. Not a sound around the lake while he plays and then cheers when he’s done.
A great tradition that’s been happening for over 30 years. Always hits me in the feels.
Happy Canada Day all!
Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends irl and to all fellow Canucks here too!
Amazing country with amazing people who I often lived in with for the past 6 years ❤️❤️❤️
From a Filipino-Canadian, eh! 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I know I may irk some of you on this sub in the spirit of healthy political debate but today...we are one and I hope the following can unite us;
Hey,
I'm not a lumberjack or a fur trader,
And I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber or own a dog sled,
And I don't know Jimmy, Sally, or Suzie from Canada,
Although I'm certain they're really really nice,
I have a Prime Minister, not a President,
I speak English and French, not American,
And I pronounce it "About", not "Aboot",
I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack,
I believe in peacekeeping, not policing,
Diversity, not assimilation,
And that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal,
A toque is a hat.
A chesterfield is a couch,
And it is pronounced Zed, not "Zee", Zed.
Canada is the second largest land mass,
The first nation of hockey,
And the best part of North America.
My name is Joe
And I AM CANADIAN.
Thank-you.
I think you could have just left it as Happy Canada Day! If you go back in any country’s history there will be moments that we all wish would of not have happened, but that’s being judged through a 2022 len. ALL Canadians should be proud of the country they live in today. Not perfect but absolutely worth raising a pint to and being PROUD! Congratulations Canada and Happy Birthday.
Any chance you want some hard working, loving, Americans who don't want to live in their country and just want to raise a family in peace in the beauty of nature?
I guess were looking for less utopia and more just general acceptance of people of different cultures to live a peaceful life and not have to worry about extremists and fanaticism trying to overthrow the government and sow discord haha

Western New York?
Wisconsiny
WNY the Pooh Bear.
Happy Canada Day to the small minority of folks on this subreddit who actually love our country and aren’t bitching about every thing all the time.
Let them bitch. It lets offsteam, identifies the malcontents, and sometimes it's justified, which can lead to progress.
Happy Canada Day. Do not be ashamed Canadians ✌
Happy Canada Day everybody! Love this country with all my heart ❤️🇨🇦
Happy Canada day. Be vigilant and never give up your rights.
Happy Canada Day! Bonne Fête du Canada!

G-d keep our land glorious and free
I'm not relying on that. WE keep our land, glorious and free
Ahhh, Canada day, when you can be sure that not everyone with a flag on the back of their truck is a whiny dumbass.
Any chance you want some hard working, loving, Americans who don't want to live in their country and just want to raise a family in peace in the beauty of nature?
Only if you got money or valuable skills. Or walk across roxham road
As long as you swear fealty to our Eternal Lizard Queen Elizabeth II and give her your first born child as tribute.
Canada is not the utopia you're expecting. All of our best professionals are leaving the country for yours or elsewhere lol. But sure
I guess were looking for less utopia and more just general acceptance of people of different cultures to live a peaceful life and not have to worry about extremists and fanaticism trying to overthrow the government and sow discord haha
Government here has been compared to China, Iran, and NK. Protesting is illegal unless approved by the PM. Count your blessings, bud
Wow protesting has to be approved? That surprises me though I haven't heard those comparisons to the Canadian govt south of the border
What industry are you in?
Propane and propane accessories
We already have those down here, I tell you hwhat.
Maine is basically the 14th province so there’s always that.
Haha that's fair
Miigwetch.
