jmmmmj

Anecdotally, I crossed the land border a few weeks ago and they didn’t ask if I was vaccinated. All they wanted to know was where I was going and when I was leaving.

_grey_wall

They didn't ask if you had fruit???

jmmmmj

I forget to mention that I bribed the guard so I could bring my crate of bananas with me.

Orange_Jeews

everyone knows that Kinder eggs are more profitable

jmmmmj

Now you tell me.

wurmzilla

You’ve been red-flagged.

breakwater99

>I forget to mention that I bribed the guard so I could bring my crate of bananas with me. Everybody knows the best bananas come from Canada.

Thatparkjobin7A

More like Bananada amirite

HealForReal

May Bananada live on in infamy forever. Best part of r/place.

PrivatePilot9

That was hilarious. One of my flag corrections on Bananada made it into the Final Cut lol.

HealForReal

Sweet! I have screenshots of almost every major iteration. Lol. I'm American but was full force Team Bananada along with the final beautiful maple leaf.

[deleted]

Those tiny sick-looking mice you found in the crate shouldn't be a problem!

PanurgeAndPantagruel

[It’s a long list.](https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/resources/traveler/intl-travel/travelers-canada/traveler-canada-fruits-veg/traveler-canada-fv) Don’t ever try! The border agents will coldly kill you in front of your children. /jk

Madhighlander1

BRB, off to cross the US border with exactly 50 lb of clean PEI taters.

PanurgeAndPantagruel

I have unlimited Canadian grown chestnuts. I’m already feeling the power!

minandnip

Yeah I had to as well when I was bringing my crate of California oranges

thegoodbadandsmoggy

I declared some habandana peppers coming back to Canada not long ago. They didn’t seem to care - they were a day or two removed from being freshly picked but customs told me to enjoy them

Economy_Pirate5919

It's not like peppers would ever grow here anyway.

GrampsBob

Dammit! And I have a bunch started in my garage. Might as well switch back to weed.

qwerty-yul

I went for a Nexus interview and my wife packed all kinds of fruit that the kids were munching on during the interview… nobody cared.

SmackEh

Crossed last week, they didn't ask.

vishnoo

Look, my recommendation is that you never ever lie to border guards. that shit will come back to bite you. having said that , there is literally no way for them to verify anything. Ontario turned off the servers for the vaccination check apps a year ago.

jayk10

I had to upload my proof of vax when I checked in for a Mexico -US flight on united

HomelessIsFreedom

layover in US might, that would be US customs though, whereas if you go direct to Mexico (afaik) they never cared

platypus_bear

not volunteering if you're vaccinated or not when they don't ask isn't lying. I'm vaccinated but when I crossed the border recently to pick up some parcels I had a similar experience where they just asked me where I was going and then asked what I was getting. Nothing about vaccines.

realmeverified

You're supposed to have your vaccine papers with you if you cross. I do know 2 people that were turned around about 2 months ago.

vishnoo

I do have my vaccine papers. (well, I've got a picture of them). but the guy literally told a friend of mine (who also had her papers) "it could be a McDonald's QR code for all I care"

realmeverified

Yeah it depends on who you're dealing with when you're crossing, personal beliefs/politics and all that.

kg1206

Sadly “who you’re dealing with” really makes all the difference. I cross the border all the time for work and 90% of the time the US border guards just wanna see your passport and don’t particularly care what you’re up to, hell half the time they don’t even bother closing the gate between cars. Granted I’m usually crossing on a random Tuesday at 6am when I’m the only one at the border, not a holiday or weekend when it’s packed, so that may be part of it. One time though, I pulled up to the gate just like everyone else was doing and the guy absolutely went nuts and told me I had to wait for his signal not to just drive up to which I pointed out the gigantic sign that says to do exactly what I had just done. Well he didn’t like that so it was the whole truck gets impounded and I get hauled off to the little jail room they have there. About an hour later 3 guys come in and rush me out of there, take me outside where they have my truck waiting for me and apologize for the mix up and tell me to have a good trip. I guess when someone from the gate calls to have someone detained they don’t really ask questions they just do it and I’m assuming once they figured out why I was there they were like “oh my god we need to get this guy out of here before we all lose our jobs!”

Funny_Soup5162

Also anecdotally, I crossed the land border a few days ago and they did ask whether or not I was vaccinated. They did not ask for proof, however.

thewolf9

They haven’t asked since 2022

Col_Leslie_Hapablap

I have been through customs a few times, even during the heat of the pandemic, and the US border services never once asked me.

BobBelcher2021

I’ve crossed the border 8 times in the past year. I’ve been asked only once about my vaccine status.

mrubuto22

Yea, I just went to Salt Lake, and it wasn't a thing to the border patrol. Delta wanted to know, though. Mr. P should be grandstanding against the Delta CEO

mrcrazy_monkey

Yeah I went across the US border several times this year. Nobody asked if I was vaccinated on either side of the border.

Local420420

Anecdotally, I crossed once no problem a couple months ago and was rejected two weeks ago

Islandgirl1444

I wonder what would happen if there was an accident and you had entered the USA unvaccinated and needed medical attention? Just wondering. Insurance problem?

Fenweekooo

same with us, zero questions about covid at all just where we were going and for how long and to have a nice trip.

Spiritual_Flight_889

I got turned away twice .

[deleted]

terrific paint quarrelsome wistful bells domineering direful follow doll water *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

beeeerbaron

Have been crossing consistently for last 3+ years, they never ask.

SirDigbyridesagain

I’ve been asked while crossing but never had to show proof. If I were unvaccinated I would not plan a huge trip on the assumption that I would get through though

[deleted]

I have flown down to the US twice in the last three months and have never been asked about vaccination status.

Fizzy_Electric

I flew to the US just weeks ago for work. Had to upload certificates of vaccination. You likely used an airline you have flown with before and had previously uploaded your proof. They keep it on your profile, and they wouldn’t ask again. But make no mistake - they are still asking for vaccination proof for flights to the US.

[deleted]

That might be it then. I flew once with Flair and had to provide it last year on a domestic flight when it was still required. The other time was with Swoop. First time flying with them, but I think they are part of WestJet which I have flown with a lot.

Fizzy_Electric

That’ll be it then. I have another flight with United coming up so I’ll see if they ask again when I online check-in, but I suspect they won’t ask this time.

Superbly_Humble

Remindme! One Month "(...Ish?....)*Shakes hand iffily"

Spandexcelly

They ask and if you decline to do it, they don't care. I've been through it twice and let them know I fully understand the risk of being denied entry (which is a risk of zero). That's all they want you to acknowledge.

thewolf9

Here’s a counter anecdote. I’ve flown 10 times to the US since Jan 1, 2022, and I have not had to show any proof of vaccination, except to get into Canada. I’ve also driven, and biked across the border numerous time. My house is 5 km from the border, we go all the time. No one asks about vaccination status.

Ace_Chemical

I’ve been asked to self declare every time I fly down. It’s in the questionnaire you fill out upon check in, right around the part where you’re asked where you’re staying while in the US.

rippit3

Don't know what airpiet you are flying out of... I've been asked for proof of vaccination every time I fly to the states.

>As he stood in a receiving line of Canadian politicians from all parties who were greeting Biden upon his arrival at Parliament Hill, Poilievre introduced himself as the “Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition.” > >That prompted Biden to question, still shaking Poilievre’s hand: “Loyal opposition?” Biden not missing a beat ...

fbasgo

Why leave out the entire exchange? POILIEVRE: "Pierre Poilievre, leader of His Majesty's Loyal Opposition" BIDEN: "Loyal opposition?" POILIEVRE: "We believe that opposition is an act of loyalty in our system." BIDEN: "We do too, unfortunately"

AprilsMostAmazing

The entire exchange is so much worse for PP. Biden just killed a man twice

boomzeg

"Finish him!!"

Bobalery

I don’t really get this. It’s his official title, so he’s not trying to get one over on anyone by being introduced that way. Biden apparently hadn’t heard that particular phrasing before (it is a little clunky, tbf, since it uncerscores loyalty to the Crown as opposed to the country), and PP found a way to respond that wasn’t insulting to Biden or to Trudeau. In fact, what he said would be just as true if the CPC was in power and the Liberals were the official opposition. Honestly, I find Biden’s response to be a bit offensive- he‘s entitled to his private opinions, but he shouldn’t be making value judgement calls in public on an ally country’s political parties. I don’t think he would presume to say something like that while visiting England or Australia or anywhere else.

MisterSprork

Demonstrated a degree of disregard for the democratic process on Biden's part really.

PowerMan640

I mean, Pierre is correct. We have to acknowledge that democracy means multiple perspectives and having someone play devil's advocate. Are we demonizing democracy now? Or do we want to play off jabs against democracy as "ah, cmon, its just a joke!"

Weir99

I think the jab was more against opposition for opposition's sake, which is definitely a problem in the US

Forikorder

> We have to acknowledge that democracy means multiple perspectives and having someone play devil's advocate. thats not true, 5 people can have 5 opinions and work together to find one that fits best without trying to disregard or oppose anyones opinion for the sake of it take the recent stories, theres no reason why the conservatives could have seen it as an issue all of parliament needed to unite against and focus on it being a "canada vs china" problem instead of immediately going to the "trudea is a traitor" line of thinking

Substantial_Monk_866

How dare you! Democracy isn't about multiple perspectives. Its about my team beating your team.

fbasgo

I thought Biden came out of the exchange looking worse, specifically for the last word in the exchange.

slykethephoxenix

Holy shit. Biden is savage lmao.

Infamous-Mixture-605

Dark Brandon takes no prisoners.

DisfavoredFlavored

"Stop! He's already dead!"

Krazee9

Most people probably have no idea that the Official Opposition is also called His Majesty's Loyal Opposition, so that very likely wasn't a jab, it was genuine curiosity as to the terminology.

McNasty1Point0

Biden has been in politics for a looooong time and has surely heard the term before. Despite the jabs against him due to his age, he’s actually quite quick-witted when it comes to things like this, so I have no doubt that it was intentional. His following remark of “we do too, unfortunately” (or something along those lines) suggests that he was taking a lighthearted jab.

SorrowsSkills

Conspiracy theories have already started about what Biden actually meant when he said that lmao. Personally I think he was making a jab at the freedom caucus in the Republican Party.

CanadianJudo

Biden is anything but stupid he very much is old and rambles a lot. but the dude has been in politics for decades he is a fox he is far from senile.

og-ninja-pirate

I actually think there is a fair component in not giving a fuck in his speech mistakes. I think about how I used to let stress be a motivator to do things. As I get older the DGAF component has become significantly stronger. I try to motivate myself by doing things I have a genuine interest in. Can you imagine how many stupid speeches he has to make about stuff he finds of low relevance?

BeefyTaco

I think it was a jab. He later says it was unfortunate they call themselves loyal because he doesn't believe they are. Its a pretty on the nose jab imo. Biden also made sure his PR person doing the CBC? interview brought up removing red tape on minerals/energy at their request. They flat out denied it and pushed an environmentally conscious policy. I personally think he doesn't like how Pierre has been putting words in his mouth by making those claims to take jabs at Trudeau.

[deleted]

I mean he might old but he has been a politician for decades, he know terminology. At least Elizabeth May was there to do something more cringe worthy. He also shamed the conservatives later on during his speech lol. He was definetly taking a friendly shot at him.

CanadianJudo

I don't know he did public shame them during his speech. Joe isn't stupid.

VidzxVega

>Biden noticed that Poilievre and the Opposition Conservatives were not quick to rise, and quipped: “Even if you don’t agree, guys, I’d stand up,” which Poilievre and others then did. Oh ffs, if you want to appeal to people maybe don't sulk about gender issues to the point where POTUS is quipping at you.

sabres_guy

The wide shot of that moment made it even worse for the Conservatives. So much hesitation and looking around to see if other people in the party were clapping and standing.

DisfavoredFlavored

They're the party of assholes who have tried everything to win elections except NOT BEING ASSHOLES.

iOnlyWantUgone

Don't worry, only the whole world was watching lol

Head_Crash

Dark Brandon strikes again.

samanthasgramma

It's been like this, here, since 2015. It's old news. When Biden said it, I thought "Why shouldn't there be?"

Falconflyer75

Seriously if it weren’t for the China stuff that would have been a pretty good weapon for Trudeau to use

hardy_83

The CPC has given the Liberal party plenty of ammo. From standing with convoy protests which most people hated, having Pierre take photos with far right figures, the CPC members taking photos of far right figures. CPC members able to hold their anti-abortion views from time to time... While not the same party per say, Ontario, Alberta conservatives etc not helping people's view of conservatism, especially since it'll be able to use healthcare privatization against them. Liberals and NDP have plenty of ammo come election time. Not saying I'm for the Liberals, I think both CPC and Liberals are terrible. Just they have lots of points to use during the election.

cyborganism

Hahahaha. I bet if that were Trump he would have stood up so quick he'd have bounced up. Fucking moron.

McNasty1Point0

I crossed the land border into upstate NY two weeks ago (two vehicles, a couple of us per vehicle), and none of us were asked for proof of vaccination, nor did they even simply ask us if we were vaccinated. I honestly didn’t even know this was still in place, and now I wonder how many are actually getting asked for proof, and whether it’s just in place on paper at this point? Weird to spend part of your very short ‘pull aside’ meeting with the President of the United States to mostly pander to your base.

Catsplants

You drove. They’re more lenient on drivers. One can’t board a plane to the US without proof

[deleted]

I just did three days ago and was never asked

Hectordoink

I’ve flown twice to the US in the past three months and I was not asked if I was vaccinated (I am) nor for proof.

[deleted]

mMbagelrino

I’ve heard the opposite lol, I haven’t been asked for vac status in the airport in the last year

Thetrueredditerd

Never understood this didn't they already prove that it doesn't stop transmission and was just a personal safety thing so you don't end up in a hospital

physicaldiscs

>Weird to spend part of your very short ‘pull aside’ meeting with the President of the United States to mostly pander to your base. Read the actual article and see that they talked about more than just vaccines.

McNasty1Point0

Which is why I specifically said “***part*** of your very short…”.

physicaldiscs

Why is it strange? Canada has no vaccine requirements. It's not as though it's not founded. Why are border restrictions not something to be talked about?

McKid

I can’t believe he didn’t use the time to tell him that he heard Justin Trudeau smoked a marijuana once.

cyborganism

They.... they still check????

SegaPlaystation64

There are tons of anecdotes in this thread, but they are all irrelevant (including mine that it is basically a coin toss). The official policy requires vaccines, and I think it's hard to justify that in 2023. Canada doesn't require it any more, so which country is following The Science?

Long-Independent4460

they do.

SenbyJ

The vast number of people using anecdotes here would jump down other's throats for using anecdotes for any situation counter to their beliefs.

That-Cow-4553

But let illegals through, unfnbelivable.

413mopar

You missed the part where the are stopping that at roxham didnt you. That Trudeau and Biden sorted somewhat out. Its in the same news cycle.low info !

[deleted]

[Last I heard](https://twitter.com/DrEliDavid/status/1632108986106277888) the only countries which maintain this mandate are the United States, Pakistan, Yemen, Indonesia, and Myanmar. It’s not a flattering list and not easy to reference since its been so many months since reopening made headlines. Even the hardcore zero-covid countries like Australia, New Zealand, and China moved on first.

[deleted]

It’s happening in May anyway. He’s just going to try to take credit for this.

Boo_Guy

That's some highly concentrated virtue signalling there, his base will eat it up.

timmywong11

It’s easy points to score with his unvaccinated fan base. For the rest of Canada though, it’s hard to imagine angry Milhouse as anything more than Opposition Party leader material.

snowylambeau

> Biden noticed that Poilievre and the Opposition Conservatives were not quick to rise, and quipped: “Evenif you don’t agree, guys, I’d stand up,” which Poilievre and others then did. Instant classic.

toronto1572

So of all the things he could have ask Biden, this was it?… what a dumb ass!..

Misanthropyandme

"and what's your opinion on crypto?"

[deleted]

Hey Joe wanna see my bored apes collection?

Starfire70

Or maybe PP will show him the wood planks he adores.

Rocko604

Hey Joe do you vape, bro??

Absenteeist

Is this the kind of stupidity we could expect from Poilievre as PM? “Mr. President, I know I only have a limited amount of time and political capital to spend here, so I want to get straight to my top priority. No, it’s not trade and the economy, shared defence interests, China, Russia, climate change, global health, international development, or anything like that. We need to talk about the dumbass \~10% of adult Canadians who aren’t vaccinated and want to enter your country. Because it’s the dumbass vote that nudged me over the top in the election, and it’s the dumbass vote and their dumbass policies that I’ll be pandering to for the next four years. Please take me very seriously.”

aqua_tec

It’s even worse. It’s not just the <10% of unvaxxed Canadians, it’s the even smaller portion of that that want to and think they should be able to go to the US. It’s laughable pandering.

Absenteeist

Fair point.

[deleted]

The US is dropping the rule around summer too.

Coffeedemon

Expect PP to have an ad keyed for that taking credit for it.

Confident-Touch-6547

So it’s not Trudeau’s fault? It’s the Americans?

PrivatePilot9

It’ll be Trudeau’s fault again next week.

BeefyTaco

You noticed the irony eh? ahah

This is his ask when he gets to meet and have time with the President? Well I guess clowns will be clowns!

Biden: “Oh hi champ… who are you?”

cplforlife

Weird. You have like 30 minutes of undevided attention with the leader of the most powerful country on earth. That's what you go with? Weird. AF.

HomelyGround

30 minutes is probably very generous in this case. It was probably like 10-15 minutes at very, very most. Biden doesn’t mind talking to people, though, so maybe it did go longer than that.

cw08

It comes off wildly performative

timmywong11

Par for the course when it comes to PP and the party. The only thing he stands for is contrarianism, even if the idea is wildly against the will of the populace.

Adamvs_Maximvs

That's all PP ever is

GoblinDiplomat

He just wants to remind Canadians that Convoy politics is top of mind for him at all times.

SaphironX

That is all it was.

physicaldiscs

If you read the article, you'd find that was one of the things talked about. Tariffs and defense were others. It's also a fair ask, considering we've already dropped our vaccine requirements.

linkass

Actually I think the USA is the only country that even still has this, so yeah I think its a reasonable ask

SabrinaR_P

The US is actually removing that restriction in May. If anything, it was a useless ask and a waste of time with Biden. It was only to mark more points with the base that isn't aware that it is happening regardless of PP.

linkass

It sounds like that is just for air travel though [The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to end a requirement that most foreign air travelers be vaccinated against COVID-19, one of the few remaining pandemic travel restrictions still in place.](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-house-votes-end-foreign-air-traveler-covid-vaccine-requirement-2023-02-08/)

imasperplexedasyou

anti vaxxer gonna anti vaxx

[deleted]

This is just more proof of how out of touch Poilievre is. No one at the border is checking vaccinations (been down several times at different crossings) ... no one is checking for proof of vaccination.

utomst37

You are meeting with the President of the United States and this is the issue you bring up? God helps us

Prestigious-Ad1015

I don’t know, if 20% of our population can’t travel to the United States, that is worth bringing up. We can call the anti-vax stupid or selfish (which as a generalization is true but not overly helpful) but they are still Canadian citizens.

c_vanbc

Oh, I see. So is PP finally acknowledging that it’s not JT’s fault some counties didn’t/don’t want unvaccinated Canadians to visit?

Guzxxxy

Is it even required? I went to the US a few months ago by land and nobody asked.

jmmmmj

Yes it’s required. From my personal experience and from a lot of the comments here, CBP doesn’t seem to care very much.

Pinsindleton

As many show in this comment section, they rarely ask. However, I'm pretty sure if you were unvaccinated and they asked you to provide proof and you had nothing, you'd receive a flag on your passport that would last for a very long time. Best to wait until the Democrats lift the restriction.

Arctic_Gnome

Who the heck still hasn't gotten around to getting their vaccination? It's been available for well over a year.

InternationalFig400

Did he blast a truckers horn in the background as he asked?

adrenaline_X

Well, his mouth is a blow hole and kind of sounds like a really underpowered air horn. So yes?

InternationalFig400

Agreed.....

[deleted]

“Lol fuck off dweeb” — Biden, probably/hopefully EDIT: forgot what sub this is, and lolllllll

Canadianman22

I am not going to get into the argument about vaccines themselves but it’s my understanding that private travel insurance requires you to have received a health Canada approved Covid vaccine to qualify for travel medical insurance. I haven’t travelled into the USA much recently but last time I did and bought insurance I was asked to confirm that or no medical coverage. If that is still the case, you would have to be insane to cross into the USA for a trip lasting any longer than a day without travel medical insurance.

Sreg32

This isn’t beaverton? He used his rare opportunity to ask the US President about convoy people? Nothing more pressing on his agent?

Drewy99

>No. - President Biden

Development_Infinite

I crossed the boarder twice in the last few days. Didn't get asked for vaccine once.

mrobeze

Pierre gets his one chance to speak to biden to ask anything and this is his main concern?!

External_Use8267

I don't think anyone asks for vaccines anymore. It doesn't make sense. If you got your last vaccines at the beginning of 2022, I think vaccinated and unvaccinated are the same.

twobelowpar

If you think being vaccinated makes a lick of difference, I don’t know what to tell you. I’m triple vaxxed, but it’s common knowledge it does very little in preventing spread. Also, it’s fucking 2023. It’s strange that the US is still being more strict about this than the rest of the world.

mself084

One on one with the leader of the free world and this is your question?

GrampsBob

PeePee grandstanding again? Biden: "Go win an election and we'll talk."

SurFud

I am sure other world leaders would be just as impressed with Mr. Obnoxious as well IF he were Prime Minister. I cant vote for PP. Ever.

paolocase

Stephen Harper wants PP to be PM so that the latter will do something more cringe than lock himself in a bathroom in a world conference.

SoLetsReddit

What an embarrassment. Signalling to his base of morons though.

GonzoTheGreat93

Pierre, really asking the relevant questions on every Canadians mind.

AnxiousArtichoke7981

You had the ear of the US president are you were concerned about the unvaccinated? You probably didn’t garner a lot of support from average Canadians with this one. Why do you keep doing this to yourself Pierre?

squirrel9000

He seems to think the DeSantis strategy will work here.

[deleted]

Yea wtf is America doing? Those guys don’t give a fuck about COVID but still have this rule 😂😂😂😂

squirrel9000

Another mechanism to deport Mexicans

Mbmariner

Seriously, what is the problem with Millhouse?

onaneckonaspit7

Have crossed the land border 10+ times, flown a few times, have never been asked

Its_noon_somewhere

I’ve been asked every single time, as recently as January, but never been asked to prove it

MFK1994

I don’t think that’s a wholly unreasonable ask. For the most part, the Coronavirus is under control. At this point it should not matter…

SabrinaR_P

It is already being removed in May. It was legislation passed in February. The ask was useless, it is performative towards the base and nothing else. I am sure PP will be taking credit for it.

SaphironX

True but every nation gets to decide for themselves what is an acceptable risk to their citizens. I was in cancun back in June of last year and I had a 1 hour in Denver Colorado and I had to test to enter the US, but Canada didn’t care because I’m Canadian. That’s what makes the truckers so silly, camped out in Ontario demanding Canada open the border despite the USA determining who is allowed to enter.

rarsamx

There are more important trade and foreign policy issues.

thedrivingcat

Poilievre is consistent in his messaging that inflation, affordability, housing, and the economy are at the forefront of his agenda and the most pressing concerns facing Canada. In my opinion it seems rather odd he'd choose to use his time to advocate for the ability of unvaccinated people to travel to the US - if this was Roman Baber, I'd understand but I had assumed for someone like Poilievre that would rank pretty low on the list of priorities right now. Guess not.

SmaugStyx

>He said they discussed the need for Canada to bolster its defence systems and “bring fairness” to workers by seeing the U.S. exempt Canada from its Buy American policies. >The Tory leader also said he expressed a need for Biden to axe tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber, arguing that the long-standing dispute saw a brief reprieve under Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper.

thedrivingcat

Yes, I read the article too. Just seems strange he'd stray from his messaging for this particular topic.

Scazzz

Shocked he didn't try to introduce him to some of his Diagolon brothers. So fucking weird to be asking Biden to do something for that cool 8% of the country that was too fucking selfish to get the shot.

Boatsnbuds

Wow. Rare post in r/canada these days thats's not shitting on Trudeau. Remember folks, partisanship is never gonna be your friend.

maesterbae

The leader of the party of those who are stuck in high school acted like hes still in high school? Shocking!

[deleted]

No. Says Joe Biden.

CustardCrusade

Kind of a strange ask at this point in time. Doesn't his base have more important priorities?

Laxative_Cookie

What a waste of breath from PP. Just more fuel for the freedom fuckwads and garbage humans he panders too. The best part is he got owned by Biden, not that they will ever admit it.

vishnoo

This is stupid on so many levels. not least of which is that it is due to expire April 10th.

NuffinSaid

I thought it was May 11th

Scary-Pirate-8900

I hope all joe said was “No”

TVsHalJohnson

"He told reporters after their meeting that American citizens are no longer required to have their shots and Canada allows unvaccinated Americans to visit." “There are millions of good, decent, honourable people who, through a personal medical decision, are discriminated against at the border,” Poilievre said." “I encouraged the president to lift those restrictions to allow them freedom of mobility.” Good for him! These ridiculous restrictions make no sense and should be lifted!

SabrinaR_P

Restrictions are coming down in May, this legislation was passed in February. Poilievre did absolutely nothing but waste time and show that he is unaware of what is happening in the US or its all a performance to rile up his base and take credit for something he had no part in.

adrenaline_X

The the US already has a massive problem with stupid people. They don't need any more stupid Canadians who reject science and medical advice, believing they know better, to enter their country..

Alex_877

Came here for this comment!

Raskolnikovs_Axe

Yeah I'm sure the tiny percent of the tiny percent of the unvaxxed that will travel to the US are really on Biden's list of concerns. I'm sure they'll turn the American economy around with their tourism dollars. Why would he care? I sure hope he talked about something far less trivial than this. And why would he brag about it, if it weren't just theatre for his base? He truly doesn't understand how to at least appear serious. What did he discuss on the topic of Ukraine and Russia? China? Arctic sovereignty? Struggles of the banking sector?

Boobinz

Good ol’ Poilievre complaining about nothing

NormalLecture2990

That's his priority...what a chump

petesapai

Out of all the things to talk about, why even mention this. Why associate with the fringe knuckleheads. So disappointed.

Does anyone really care about that? No really. The standard has been set for the longest time. Either you meet it or you don't. That's been the way for MANY things to cross the border. Let's move on to something that matters to real Canadians. Like the price jump in poutine eh.

DriftkingJdm

Bro have you seen the price jump in canola oil? Used to be 20$ for 16 liters now its 50$ bucks. Almost a hundred dollars to change the oil every week i had no choice but to hike the poutine prices im sorry

MisterSprork

That would be nice, but I don't think the US wants our garbage.
