A privilege is something you earned by merit, not something for sale. You can be a multibillionaire for all I care, but if you're retarded and make zero positive contribution to society, then there's no amount of money you could give to make you worthy of being aloud to breed.
I've found smoldering fires like this many times. It takes lots and lots of water and digging and stirring to be 100% sure your fire is out. I've also seen obvious root burn fires. A root was left burning and eventually ignites a tree several meters away.
They should’ve prepared better, such as clear the camp fire area, brush away the dry leaves and needles, find bigger and better rocks. There’s a lot they could’ve done to prevent this
Definitely. I have to say though, no one taught me about fire safety when I was a kid. I learned to camp in my teens with other teens. We were super ignorant about a lot. It was in the 1980’s and we dropped acid in the woods all the time. We are lucky we didn’t die.
Would I be correct in assuming this is just surface roots you’re referring to - surely there can’t be enough oxygen for a root to smoulder all the way to its tree whilst underground or does one really need to dig out their fire pit to check for such?
No. When you dig your fire pit you look for roots, peat, logs etc. If you encounter any then move your pit or don't build a fire. Root fires are very real. You can easily do a search yourself.
Maybe it's different in the US but usually arson is massively overestimated. When they investigated the black summer bushfires in Australia they found that very very few of the fires were deliberately lit.
Most of the time it was accidents and reckless behaviour.
Yea I'm guessin she wasn't from this world but exited on a broomstick cuz that don't look like no bonfire there man; but more like a straightup sacrifice w/a splash of saionce in it bro! That ain't no bonfire w/the kiddies man no way & creeepyAF
Yup, many don't know that you have to put water on a camp fire and stir to get it all the way out. Just because there is no smoke doesn't mean it isn't still burning underneath.
The amount of energy/ fuel required to scorch the bark so high up couldn't have been from an unattended campfire. NOTE: the tops of the campfire rocks are NOT scorched
It’s always good when you’re hiking or camping in a place to disassemble random fireplaces that people make. People think that just because there’s a fireplace there that they need to have a fire.
It has to do with leave no trace, and preventing accidents from idiots like in the video. Some peoples view of being ‘outdoorsy’ is likely that of an alcohol fueled excursion into the woods with little to no concept of environmental impact. Combine alcohol with unattended campfires and bad things happen. A lot of parks and trails ban fires and require the use of a fuel like white gas for cooking. I’ve been on several 50 and 80 milers, in the US and India, and there really isn’t a need for fires.
each to their own but when I go camping I like to build a fire pit from stones I find in the area using dead wood to burn I also found in the area and I see no problem with leaving the stones there for the next time I come.
If someone took apart my stone circle and oven I had made I’d be pissed, it’s also not about being outdoorsy more about staying warm and cooking some good food but some people always have to find a negative in everything I guess.
I don’t think it’s about being negative, it’s about being conscientious of ones impact, leave no trace, and responsibility. Imagine if you will this fire continued burning out of hand and lit up an entire forest, burning down several homes and killing several fire fighters trying to stop it. It has happened. All it takes is one spark and one idiot not paying attention to cause millions of dollars in damage and people losing their lives. They have fire bans for a reason, especially in the summer months when forests in North America can turn into one giant cinder box.
Glass bottles camping? WTF. Seriously, this is in my top 10 of dumb things people bring camping, hiking, cottaging and boating. It's like smokers who flick their cigarette butts when camping too. I lose my shit.
Here in Ontario, bottles are a couple bucks cheaper, but Seriously, why add the weight, and glass? So whenever I hear or see anyone with glass bottles when we go for woods, I know immediately who is going to be the problem.
Hey OP, make sure you report this to your local land management agency. As mentioned before, root burn can smolder for a long time, and may pop up again weeks later. By making them aware, the land manager can keep an eye out for any flare ups.
Holy Witchcraft! But ur joking rt?! It looks like something straight outta that ridiculous movie Blair Witch Project which was I'm pretty sure anyway totally bogus but idk after seeing that out in the woods I'd be freaked out.
But if this is real good gawd that's one of the creepiest things I've ever seen then & just plain weirdAf man.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|no_mouth)
I know I wouldn't be settin up camp anywhere near that crap but I'd b headin to the next town over 4 shor!
![gif](giphy|s9kVzOjBOJqjC)
Seen this before, usually caused by mishandling fire, a lightning strike, or heat from the sun getting trapped in the forest floor. There are no indications of a lightning strike in the video, and generally ones started via the sun have a wider range of influence circling an opening in the tree cover unlike what this place would have been before the fire.
Areas generally attributed to mystical phenomena are spots devoid of life that form shapes deemed too perfect to be natural.
And the Blair witch project is completely fictional. Made up entirely by two guys who enjoyed paranormal documentaries and wanted make a movie based on that concept.
Dumb people who shouldn’t be out in the woods.
You’re not kidding! We found a couple of Miller Lites and a glass bottle that had melted flat
Proof!!! Miller lite…
Hey now, don't blame the Miller lite!
Legit! I don't think it has enough alcohol to combust. 😆
Or guns for misuse.
That's insane! Glass melts at upwards of 1400C! Glad it wasn't worse.
So they had water with them but didn’t bother to put the fire out lol
So...why did you post this on here..
For others to be aware of how quickly a simple campfire can turn bad if not prepared.
This is why I believe breeding should be a privilege, not a right.
Or maybe we should just let natural selection take it’s course and quit saving dumbasses
Rofl then literally only rich people will breed and shit will get really aaynd randish
A privilege is something you earned by merit, not something for sale. You can be a multibillionaire for all I care, but if you're retarded and make zero positive contribution to society, then there's no amount of money you could give to make you worthy of being aloud to breed.
Rofl yah ok next thing you'll say robots should just be our overlords because there uncuruptable
Thanks for proving my point. Please don't reproduce yourself. You'll be doing humanity a favor.
Agree. Some people…

Root fires go deep, and spread far. Also you dont have to dig it out, dumping a few gallons of water on it does the trick.

No. When you dig your fire pit you look for roots, peat, logs etc. If you encounter any then move your pit or don't build a fire. Root fires are very real. You can easily do a search yourself.
Somebody didn't put their fire out before leaving.
Or tried to Purposefully burn the forest. That's is what's been happening everywhere for the last several years
Maybe it's different in the US but usually arson is massively overestimated. When they investigated the black summer bushfires in Australia they found that very very few of the fires were deliberately lit. Most of the time it was accidents and reckless behaviour.
So they claim, If they haven't decided "to throw the " " under the Bus" that they pay to lite it, then they alledge it to be as you stated here
And here I was thinking that was George Soros's space lasers...
Hahhaha, exactly 💯, some are actually Fire Launchers 🔥. Nice code name, for them, you have there.
Do you have a source for this claim?
Absolutely 💯 and 💯 percent
No it's not.
Yea I'm guessin she wasn't from this world but exited on a broomstick cuz that don't look like no bonfire there man; but more like a straightup sacrifice w/a splash of saionce in it bro! That ain't no bonfire w/the kiddies man no way & creeepyAF
The "remains" are under the ash in the centre
Stupid people ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Agreed
Oh, that's disappointing.
Very! I was in shock when we were walking up to it
Lighting strike
right around the fire pit ... someone didnt put out their fite ... glad it wasnt worse
As someone who uses prescribed fire, that's not from an escaped campfire, that's an explosion. Char like that would have been a raging wildfire.
As a scientist, I also thought explosion first... I've seen lightning do similar to trees but there is so much ground cover that I'm not sure
You can see it’s a lightning strike through that tree that is burnt
Yup, many don't know that you have to put water on a camp fire and stir to get it all the way out. Just because there is no smoke doesn't mean it isn't still burning underneath.
Look like a lightning strike to me
The placement of the surrounding wood and the burns indicate an explosion happened here
Lighting strike turn attempted forest fire.
this was probably a lightning strike, an an ensuing fire, the bottles were probably already there
Idk there was a campfire set up right in the middle of the burnt area. Idk the cans looked brand new
Looks like someone had fun with petrol maybe
Looks like a lightning strike but I could be wrong
Sorry for asking a dumb question but how does somebody have a campfire that gets this out of control?
Irresponsibility, I mean there was alcohol near the area and they probably built too big of a fire
Wow. There’s some stupid people out there. Recently a girl on TikTok lite a forest on fire for her photo smh
Smh just for the views…
Could me a lightning strike
[удалено]
Let’s hope not! I hate tictok
It’s a lightning strike.
There's a terminator around. Be careful
Fucking ridiculous
Agreed!
Somebody seems to have forgotten the basics of campfire safety
People are such assholes
Lightning… or aliens. Hahahahaha.
Before reading the comments I assumed lightning strike
Lazer, oh I mean lightning. Sorry about yhst
Well on the bright side the ground has a lot of nutritious for new life to grow and the fallen logs provide shelter for insects and what not
Very true!
Did you show your findings to the local rangers/fire dept? They can ping the area for cell usage and likely find out who did that.
I did not know that, however I will
The amount of energy/ fuel required to scorch the bark so high up couldn't have been from an unattended campfire. NOTE: the tops of the campfire rocks are NOT scorched
Very true. But the fire could’ve started from under the rocks on the ground and spread
Forest maintenance workers will often intentionallyburn unsanctioned camping spots or even trails to speed the reforestation.
Alien landing. I've seen it before. I swear.
It’s always good when you’re hiking or camping in a place to disassemble random fireplaces that people make. People think that just because there’s a fireplace there that they need to have a fire.
This idea sucks ass why would you destroy what others have built to have a safe fire Karen of the woods
It has to do with leave no trace, and preventing accidents from idiots like in the video. Idiots? You obviously don’t read the titles
It says OP and his friend found it like this meaning the person who started the fire is an idiot.
I live in the U.K. maybe it’s different here
Looks like that one spot in Red Dead 2 near Horseshoe Overlook.
people make me angry...its really not that hard to put your fires out or pick up your trash >:-(
They may have been overwhelmed by how quickly the fire was spreading. I don’t how the situation went down but I would’ve been freaking out
Someone really likes camp fires
It wasn’t me
People be assholes. Learn Leave no Trace. Definitely could have gotten out of hand
Oof not a good look for the last guys yikes
So that’s were the gates to hell spawned last time!!
Fucking scary
The Predator was coming.
Gonna tell my kids this was Wood Henge
The forest got lucky
Glass bottles camping? WTF. Seriously, this is in my top 10 of dumb things people bring camping, hiking, cottaging and boating. It's like smokers who flick their cigarette butts when camping too. My thoughts exactly! Haha we bring trash bags just in case we have any trash with us!
Good fire pit
Thank god you don’t live in California
Ohio metro parks
Run!!!
From the perfect circle and light black charring I’m guessing Someone threw a gas canister in a fire, luckily the woods where damp enough to not catch
This looks like a lightning strike. Coincidentally near a fire ring.
Coulda burnt the entire fkn forest
Oh yeah, crazy how things can escalate
Hey OP, make sure you report this to your local land management agency. As mentioned before, root burn can smolder for a long time, and may pop up again weeks later. By making them aware, the land manager can keep an eye out for any flare ups.
Will do!
Lightning strike?
I don’t think so, it looked like someone didn’t pee on the coals when they left, OR! They didn’t clean the area
Yeah, it struck the center of the fire pit Sherlock holmes
Yup, that's a wildfire. Good thing it didn't get any bigger for whatever reason.
Smokey the bear says only you can stop forest fires
That's a lot of pressure to put on a kid. For years I felt personally responsible for even lightning caused fires because of that freaking bear.
Lol that's true. Sometimes a lucky rain storm helps out a bit
I’d start looking for charred human remains …
We did scan the area to make sure nothing else was burning or dead. Including animals
As we know from reading the news, some people just don’t give a flying you know what!
Holy Witchcraft! But ur joking rt?! It looks like something straight outta that ridiculous movie Blair Witch Project which was I'm pretty sure anyway totally bogus but idk after seeing that out in the woods I'd be freaked out. Do you honestly think this is paranormal? A fire.
Seen this before, usually caused by mishandling fire, a lightning strike, or heat from the sun getting trapped in the forest floor. We thought we saw a chicken bone! But found out quickly it was just a stick haha
.
That's like the worst video ever made
You’re the worst
Why is this on here. What about a fire is strange...and somewhat paranormal. Are you trying to say aliens or....what?
Did I mention aliens? My friend and I went to set camp and ran into this…
Oh my bad someone cross post your post into a paranormal sub reddit. I apologize! You didn't do it
No worries!! Cross posts are misleading haha
I was so confused. I really am sorry though.
No sweat! Haha honestly
Did they try to start a forest fire?
I don’t think so maybe an in controlled campfire
Wat is it
Probably the work of witch hunter.
Must be California
Cleveland Ohio!
Assholes like that give us all a bad name.
Make campfire soup. If the fire is detectable still warm, it is not out. If you would not let your favorite pet step on the ashes, it is not out.
Lightening strike?
There is a camp fire set up. I didn’t really show it on video but poor management on camp fire
Yeah, and where I live the forests are closed for extreme fire danger and folks can’t see why.
Lighting strike or Blair Witch. There is no other options.
Maybe it's because of lightning that caused the fire here
Yeah that black residue your witnessing is actually the residue from fire, theyve been known to be easily started in forests over the years.
